Great rooms. Nicely decorated and spacious. The living area and kitchen set up was perfect. The beds were comfortable. The service is less than desirable. If you want housekeeping, they say to let them know 24 hours in advance. I called to say we wanted housekeeping during our stay and they said, “We don’t do daily housekeeping, but we will put you on the list for tomorrow.” So, for four nights we had one housekeeping service. The included breakfast is good. The oatmeal was excellent and they had scrambled eggs and rotated the meat daily between sausage and bacon. They had fresh fruit, yogurt cups and plenty of bread selections and a waffle maker. Just adding shredded cheddar cheese and salsa as an option for the scrambled eggs would take the breakfast from good to great. One morning they had flour tortillas and salsa to make breakfast tacos. That was great. I would definitely stay there again. The valet parking is $50 a night, and we didn’t realize it until the next day that there is a public parking garage across the street that would have been a much lower cost option.

Homewood Suites by Hilton San Antonio-Riverwalk/Downtown Introduce

Howdy, Texas travelers! Whether you're in San Antonio for an extended business trip, a family vacation that requires more space, or a leisurely exploration of our vibrant city, sometimes a standard hotel room just doesn't cut it. That's where the concept of an "extended stay hotel" truly shines, and today, we're focusing on an excellent example right in the heart of the Alamo City: the Homewood Suites by Hilton San Antonio-Riverwalk/Downtown. This hotel is designed to be your home away from home, offering the comfort and conveniences of an apartment coupled with the services of a hotel. For Texans who value both space and location, this property offers a compelling choice for any visit to San Antonio. Let's delve into what makes it a local favorite.

The Homewood Suites by Hilton San Antonio-Riverwalk/Downtown boasts an enviable address at 432 W Market St, San Antonio, TX 78205, USA. This places it directly "on San Antonio's famous River Walk," making it an ideal "home base" for exploring one of Texas's most iconic and beloved destinations. The hotel is situated in the vibrant downtown area, ensuring that you're never far from the city's key attractions, dining, and entertainment.

The accessibility from this location is outstanding. You can step directly onto the picturesque Riverwalk and immediately immerse yourself in its lively atmosphere, with countless restaurants, shops, and entertainment venues just a leisurely stroll away. Iconic historical sites are also incredibly close: The world-famous Alamo is an easy "10-minute walk away," allowing for convenient historical immersion. Other major attractions within easy walking distance include the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center (just "3 blocks" away, approximately a 10-minute walk), the Rivercenter Mall, the Aztec Theatre, and La Villita Historic Arts Village.

For those flying in, San Antonio International Airport (SAT) is approximately "9 miles" or about a 15-20 minute drive from the hotel. While the hotel offers valet parking at $49.00 per night (as of recent information), it's worth noting that "there is a public parking garage across the street that would have been a much lower cost option," as discovered by a past guest. This gives guests flexibility in managing their parking expenses. The highly walkable nature of the downtown and Riverwalk areas means that once you've parked, you might not need your car again until departure. Its central and well-connected location truly makes it a convenient choice for both leisure and business travelers.

I’m not one to leave these sort of reviews but this is something I have to do. There was a front desk agent that was phenomenal and really good at what he did. Jose was his name when me and my crew would stay at this location I was looking forward to see Jose. Because he knew how to keep a conversation going with me I’m sure he would do that with the guests that he would interact with. I’ve come to find out he’s no longer with this company I wish I knew where he is now working because I would make sure to take all my and my crew to the location that he is working. Never a dull moment when I would check his funny sarcasm would make me laugh. He was an asset to this location in my opinion.

I love the room, the hotel in general. However, they need to find a solution for their valet problem. I checked out at 11:00am, asked for my car and got it close to 12pm. Unacceptable for $50 a night. It’s a given that everyone will ask for their car at checkout so how do they plan to get the cars for everyone with only 2-3 drivers and a long wait time?

Good start to stay. Service was good. But when we got to the room it started to get bad. We were missing light bulbs next to the bed and also the ceiling leaked for two days straight. I called multiple times to get the issue fixed but Hilton refused to refund my stay. I also have video footage of the leak and also there were water stains on the ceiling. It’s been leaking for a while. We had to pile towels up on the floor at night so we didn’t hear the drops hitting the floor. 400$ for two nights with a leak is crazy. Also missing light bulbs next to bed….. update they try to blame the refund on the third party. The third party said the hotel denied the refund so they could issue the refund. It’s crazy they will lie.

This is the 2nd time staying at a Hilton property where the check in experience was lackluster. First as Diamond members, I expect to be greeted and thanked for our membership. We are supposed to get water and a snack on check in, but we were given nothing. Upon arriving to our room, our card keys did not work. Returning to the desk, we were given new keys to a room on a different floor. No explanation given. New room, no water in the room. Upon returning to the front desk, the reception pointed to the convenience store area and told us to help ourselves to water. The hotel is located on the River Walk in a quiet area which made our stay enjoyable. The room was spacious and comfortable. The kitchen featured a full size refrigerator, microwave, and a pod coffee machine. The beds were comfortable and a door seprarates the bedroom from the living area. There is large closet with shelves. An iron and ironing board are in the closet. The bathroom has a single sink and a shower is in an adjacent room with a door. A ceiling fan in the bedroom keeps the room cool. The security system on the door to our room was broken. We reported this to the hotel and an employee came and replaced the latch. However after this repair, we found the new latch was easily defeated by just pushing the door open. It really looked like the wrong part was installed. The deadbolt was also unable to be secured. Would give a better rating for the room except for the problem with the door. Breakfast is served in the restaurant each morning. 6:30 start on weekdays and 7:00 on weekends. A good selection of items are available including waffles, cereal, oatmeal, eggs, bacon, sausage, bread/bagels, and some pastries. The food is self serve (no menu). The Texas shaped waffles were fun to make and tasty. Parking is available by valet service. For a standard vehicle, it's $49/day. If you prefer to self park, numerous parking options available a short distance from the hotel. The River Walk is located behind the hotel and can be accessed by a stair near the bridge. A short walk will bring you to the bars and restaurants and shopping. The Briscoe Western museum is close by and worth at least a visit to see the sculptures outside. On checkout, we relayed our issues about the malfunctioning door. Hopefully this will be fixed before the next guest checks in.
