Really bad WiFi generally. Not optimized for a large amount of guests. If you’re having to WFH you might struggle. They clearly have the cheap plan because the upload/download speeds are horrendous. To upload a 10MB photo, it’ll take you 10 minutes. The hot water is very in and out. You might not have any for several hours (especially because they use hot water on their linen wash days), only 5 minutes, or maybe 15 minutes if you’re lucky. Bathrooms are super clean. Nice staff if you’re nice. You can request a fridge for an additional fee. Honestly they should just have them in all the rooms. If you’re staying longer than 2 months, just buy your own mini fridge, it’ll be cheaper. Weekly room cleaning is nice. Some rooms updated, some aren’t.

Hotel 17 - Extended Stay Introduce

Looking for an extended stay option in the Union Square area of New York City? Hotel 17 - Extended Stay, located at 225 E 17th St, is part of the 'Hotels Near Of Me' category and caters to guests seeking longer-term accommodation. However, recent guest reviews indicate some potential drawbacks that local users should be aware of.

One of the main concerns raised by a guest is the generally bad WiFi, which is described as not optimized for a large number of guests. This could be problematic for those needing to work from the hotel, as upload and download speeds are reported to be very slow. Hot water availability is also inconsistent, with the possibility of having none for several hours, particularly on linen wash days, or only for very short durations.

On the positive side, guests have found the bathrooms to be super clean, and the staff are described as nice if you are nice to them. A fridge can be requested for an additional fee, though one guest suggested they should be included in all rooms or that guests staying longer than two months might find it cheaper to buy their own mini-fridge. Weekly room cleaning is provided, which is a beneficial service for extended stays. It's also mentioned that some rooms have been updated while others have not.

Another significant concern raised by a potential guest is the difficulty in contacting the hotel. They reported trying to get a hold of someone for a week without a response, including an incident where the phone was answered but then left running silently. This lack of communication has led to concerns about the legitimacy of the hotel and discrepancies between terms and conditions listed on different platforms, as well as suspicions about the authenticity of recent reviews.

For direct inquiries or to attempt to make a booking, you can contact Hotel 17 - Extended Stay at (212) 475-2845 or +1 212-475-2845. Given the recent feedback regarding communication issues, it may be prudent to seek confirmation on booking details and any specific needs prior to arrival. Potential guests should weigh the benefits of extended stay options against the reported issues with WiFi, hot water, and communication when considering this hotel.

Impossible to get a hold of- I have been trying to get a hold of ANYONE for week and have heard nothing back. What is going on- someone just answered the phone and then left it running and not responded after I called a few times. This is really making me believe that this hotel is going to scam me or something. Your T&C's state something on hostel world and then on your website it says something different- all your reviews in the last few months feel staged. Its all just very fishy. Can someone please respond to ease the concerns. I have questions

I went here back in 2018 so it's an old review but the service when I went was great! Everyone was so friendly, the staff was super accommodating and it was so reasonably priced for the location. It was clean and it was close to everywhere so it's no complaints. I only really stayed in this room to sleep and occasionally to eat and watch movies. It had wifi.
