I cannot get over what an absolute scam this hotel is. Never in my life have I stayed somewhere this bad and disgusting in terms of lack of transparency and daylight robbery. Responses are clearly from a bot and owners don’t care about guest experiences. Do not stay here under any circumstances. WiFi not free. Hidden charges. “Free” coffee for a machine they say they don’t know how to work (????), “breakfast credit” for a menu that overcharges and you can’t order anything for less than the 25 dollars. They charge you for everything in the room. Take a deposit and then these house charges fees for literally nothing for free in the hotel, it is literally insane. This so called lounge sounded like sitting in a hygienist cleaning with a horrible squeaking. Mould in the room and wall paper falling off. Not a 4 star hotel and a total waste of money, feel bad for the staff because it isn’t their fault. Don’t stay here!

Mar 29, 2025 · L GarbettFriendly hotel near Grand Central Station. Discount at the attached cafe. Proper sound proofing, so the other rooms and traffic can't be heard. Bag store if you arrive early or leave late. Aircon not the best. Big screen, but nothing but Seinfeld. Friends and American sport on the tv. Kettle in room, but need a degree to work it. Far more than on and auto turn off when it boils. No light in the middle of the room, so you either have owl eyes, or bring a torch.
Apr 06, 2025 · Steve HazlehurstAs written on Tripadvisor, The hotel’s location and soundproofing are decent, and the view can be nice, but only if you’re on the upper floors. However, we had to request a room change to the upper floor to meet the standards of what we paid for—a room with a view. Even then, the new room was not much cleaner and far from what we expected. The size of the room was disappointing, and it was definitely not suitable for three people. Despite the listing, there was no real “living area,” and the overall space felt cramped. When we arrived at 11:30 PM, the first room we were assigned wasn’t clean or ready. The light above the bed was broken, there were peanuts in the bed, and the cleaning staff was unfriendly. Even in the new room, the cleanliness was shocking—there was a thick layer of dust on the headboard and stains all over the carpet. On top of that, basic amenities like coffee pods and towels, which should be replaced daily, were only provided if we asked, (which we had to do, every single day). We even had to request for our room to be cleaned, daily. And the shower gel wasn’t even full when we arrived, luckily for us, we came with our own. The listing was extremely misleading. The suite was much smaller than advertised, the bed too small to be comfortable, and the kitchen wasn’t equipped with any utensils, plates, or the basics needed to prepare a meal. We also weren’t aware there was a lounge or gym on-site, as there was no communication about these amenities when we arrived. Adding to the disappointment was the so-called “breakfast included,” which was actually just a $25 credit per room. Given the overpriced restaurant, it’s impossible to have a proper meal for $25 unless you’re dining alone. After spending so much on the hotel itself, this “credit” felt like a scam, and only used once. The hidden fees were another unpleasant surprise. The “hotel fees” added at the end of our stay were extremely confusing and. These fees significantly increased the total cost, making the already overpriced stay feel even more like a rip-off. For the quality of service and the state of the facilities, these fees are unjustifiable and should be made clear upfront. What’s most disappointing is that these same issues have been raised in reviews going back two years. It’s clear that management has not taken any steps to address recurring problems, which shows a lack of care for the guest experience. The only saving grace of the hotel was the hostess, Lena. She was incredibly welcoming and helpful, and her professionalism stood out. This hotel has potential but desperately needs better management. The cleaning staff should be trained to meet basic standards, and maintenance needs to be a priority to address the broken fixtures and overall cleanliness. Listings should be updated to reflect the reality of the rooms, and amenities should be consistently provided without guests having to ask. Until these changes are made, it’s hard to imagine recommending or returning to this hotel.
Nov 17, 2024 · Gabrielle FurcyRooms really big by New York standards. Staff were lovely and bed super comfortable. Location was amazing. Only down fall is that it could have been cleaned just a bit more thoroughly and more towels provided. The biggest issue was the elevators - completely safe but really really noisy ( needed oil on the bearings most likely) so when the hotel woke up so did I from the noise.
Oct 22, 2024 · Nicole TurrinRooms were advertised as sound proof, they weren’t. Some fees weren’t disclosed in the booking. I don’t like financial surprises at sites. Room was good. Bathroom wasn’t cleaned like I hoped. Imma epidemiologist so I brought my own cleaning supplies. Much needed. Make sure to bring something to spray the shower floors and toilet. The breakfast was subpar but there’s a diner across the street that’s good.
