Looking for accommodation in Midtown East? The Bernic Hotel New York City, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, located at 145 - 147 E 47th St, is listed under the 'Hotels Near Of Me' category. Recent guest reviews indicate a blend of comfort and significant disruptions that travelers from Taiwan should be aware of.
On the positive side, guests have consistently found the rooms and beds at The Bernic Hotel to be "very comfortable," ensuring a pleasant stay in terms of physical comfort. The showers are also highly praised, described as "amazing" with "great water pressure" and "soft towels," contributing to an excellent bathroom experience. The service from the reception staff is frequently highlighted as "outstanding," with staff being "incredibly professional and polite," making a positive impact on the guest experience. Additionally, small but appreciated touches like "free fruits at reception and high-quality coffee that was regularly topped up" were noted as thoughtful amenities.
However, several significant drawbacks were reported. A major issue was the "quite disruptive" noise levels due to "ongoing construction outside." This included "heavy drilling throughout the day" and "loud construction and metal loading/unloading at 4 AM" on a Saturday night. The fact that the "windows were not soundproof" amplified the disturbance. Guests should be prepared for potential noise if construction is still underway during their stay in April 2025.
Another significant inconvenience was "lift issues," with "one of the elevators out of service," leading to "long waits." This was compounded by "handymen and construction workers" also using the only working lift, further frustrating guests.
One particularly negative review detailed a concerning experience where a guest's room was changed after mobile check-in without notification. They were then allegedly given false information about elevator availability. This guest also expressed dissatisfaction with the lack of a microwave (having to eat cold food), a "terrible" room service menu with limited and unappealing options, and disruptive noise from housekeeping. They felt that an offered late checkout did not compensate for the negative experiences, including the alleged misallocation of their room after key activation, leading to a ruined birthday.
The services and features highlighted in the positive aspects include comfortable rooms and beds, excellent showers, professional and polite reception staff, free fruit at reception, and high-quality coffee. The negative aspects point to noise from external construction (as of the time of the reviews), elevator service issues, lack of in-room microwaves, poor room service menu options, and potentially inconsistent and dishonest staff interactions.
The provided reviews do not mention any specific promotional offers available at the time of these stays. Travelers from Taiwan interested in The Bernic Hotel New York City, Tapestry Collection by Hilton should check the official Hilton website or contact the hotel directly at +1 212-754-9700 (international dialing from Taiwan requires adding Taiwan's international access code) for any current promotions or special packages.
In conclusion, The Bernic Hotel offers comfortable accommodations and excellent service from the reception staff, along with some appreciated amenities. However, potential guests from Taiwan should be aware of the strong possibility of disruptive noise due to ongoing construction in the vicinity and potential issues with elevator service. Additionally, some guests have reported negative experiences regarding room allocation, staff communication, and in-room conveniences. It is recommended to inquire about the status of construction and elevator service prior to booking and to consider the mixed reviews regarding overall guest experience.

Get directionsHotel Review – New York My stay at the hotel was a mix of comfort and some unavoidable disruptions. Pros: • The room and bed were very comfortable, making for a pleasant stay. • The shower was amazing, with great water pressure, soft towels, and an overall excellent experience. • Service was outstanding—the reception staff were incredibly professional and polite, truly making a difference. • Small but thoughtful touches, like free fruits at reception and high-quality coffee that was regularly topped up, were much appreciated. Cons: • The noise levels were quite disruptive due to ongoing construction outside. This included heavy drilling throughout the day on Friday (until around 5–5:30 PM), as well as loud construction and metal loading/unloading at 4 AM on Saturday night. The windows were not soundproof, which made it even more noticeable. • Lift issues—one of the elevators was out of service, which resulted in long waits. To make it worse, handymen and construction workers were also using the only working lift, making the situation even more frustrating. Despite the noise and lift inconvenience, I would still stay here again due to the exceptional service, comfort, and thoughtful amenities. However, guests should be aware of potential disruptions if construction is still ongoing.
Mar 04, 2025 · Olesya WehlauAfter checking into my room on the app it was changed to another room on a lower floor without telling me anything. Then I was lied to and told that all floors over 10 were out of order which was a COMPLETE LIE. Two different guest got on the elevator with me. One went to floor 12 the other went to floor 11. I am upset my stay was not enjoyable. I had to eat cold food due to no microwave. The room service menu options are terrible. Like y'all literally only have stuff like octopus and other random things on the menu that most would not want when they just want a quick meal, or snack which there was none on that menu. Housekeeping literally was slamming doors non-stop from early morning until literally 4pm. They offered me late checkout at 1pm but that does not make up for the lies that were told. After someone check into a room and activate the key it should not have been giving away at all. My entire birthday was ruined.
Feb 03, 2025 · Empress DonaldGreat experience. I recommend the corner rooms with a balcony. They’re large for nyc, have wooden floors and heated bathroom tiles. Came in for work and doctors appointments and it was perfect for what we needed. The staff is very accommodating. It’s not “luxury”, but closest to feeling at home for a few days.
Jan 28, 2025 · Lauren GraceI came out to see a surgeon at Mount Sinai during Thanksgiving. I had assumed it was going to be packed and always a wait for the elevator, but we experienced anything but that. We were graciously given an upgraded room and were in love with our experience. The place is clean, nice, and in such a wonderful location. Huge balcony, nice TV, heated bathroom floors, and a comfortable bed- what more could you ask for? Can’t wait to come back!
Dec 17, 2024 · Elizabeth StreckfussFrom beginning to end….wonderful hotel experience. The front desk girls were friendly, kind and accommodating. Rooms were small but extremely quiet, clean and new! Sheets and pillows were comfortable and extremely clean. Daily house keeping was excellent! The heated bathroom floors and shower were amazing. We have stayed at 13 different hotels. And this is by far the winner. Like many other reviews, we will also be returning customers.
