Beautiful old hotel. Clean room, if not the nicest room in the place. I couldn’t really complain - I booked through a 3rd party sight and scored an amazing price. I’m guessing that’s why I had a 1st floor room right over the “club” ~restaurant~ . No robes in the room and 2 beds instead of 1. It was kinda funny when at check in they earnestly told my husband and I that we got “upgraded” to 2 beds! All good though - We were there to see Jason Isabel at The Beacon and the location was ideal. Affordable parking garage on 81st and loved the coffee and pastries in the morning from the cafe right downstairs. They give each guest a $10 voucher upon check in to use there. Overall a really great stay. Highly recommend and would definitely stay again.

Feb 25, 2025 · Deanna HortonThis is a hidden gem of a hotel in the Upper West Side. Have brought my 75 year old mother to this hotel the past two years and she absolutely loves it. Hotel has everything we need and they treat us so well. My Mom's favorite person is Benedict, one of the guest ambassadors (who stopped and talked to us on the street on his own time and offered up a great Broadway show suggestion which we appreciated) but all the staff were really nice and helpful. Doormen Edward and Mark treated us great as well. I had a knee injury during my stay and they made sure i was taken care of. The hotel gave us vouchers for a breakfast every morning in a quaint little pastry shop downstairs where we could sit and talk. Located on the Upper West Side it is close to Central Park and Hudson River walking paths as well as the 1, 2 and 3 train to get you anywhere in Manhattan in under 30 minutes. The neighborhood is quiet but close to everything you need. Really nice brownstone neighborhoods allow you to walk around and really soak in life in New York. We will continue to come here in the future. The hotel really has been the key to two great trips with my Mom

The staff was friendly and accommodating. The cafe has delicious and convenient food. The $10/person/day vouchers to the in-house cafe and restaurant were a nice bonus. We were also pleasantly surprised by how little traffic noise we heard from our room.

It was a very difficult time for my daughter and we appreciated the compassion given to our family. Additionally, we loved the hotel vibe and neighborhood. The breakfast bakery was outstanding!
Mar 30, 2025 · Crickett HardyI can’t believe this hotel has any less than 5 stars. I’m very picky about hotel cleanliness and I’ve now stayed here on two separate trips to NYC. It’s definitely my go-to for all future trips! This hotel is adorable, comfortable, quiet, and clean! And you get vouchers for the bakery next door, which has fabulous pastries and coffee! It’s also in a great upper west side location, close to lots of restaurants, museums, Central Park, etc. I stayed in February this year and got a free upgrade to my room, which was much appreciated for this single mom on a work trip without the toddler!
