Hotel Indigo NYC Financial District, an IHG Hotel

I can't fault this hotel. The location is great, so close to the subway and only a short walk from Battery Park and the 9/11 memorial. The room was quiet, comfortable and clean. There was a nice view from the window and the food was really good. I was sad to leave once my trip came to an end.

Rude Staff and Poor Security – Think Twice Before Staying Here I stayed at this hotel from February 15 to February 19 for 4 nights and requested housekeeping twice during my stay. On my last night, I had to leave for the airport 3 3 AM for a 7 AM flight to Miami. While packing around 1 AM, I noticed that a LEGO paper bag I had placed on the floor was missing. Inside the bag were New York souvenirs (keychains, magnets) worth approximately $100. Frustrated, I immediately went down to the front desk to report the issue. The staff on duty assured me they would investigate and promised to contact me by 10 AM on February 19. However, I never received any follow-up. The next morning, after arriving in Miami, I was packing again and realized that my sunglasses were also missing. That’s when I remembered they had been inside the LEGO bag. Three days later, still with no response from the hotel, I called them myself. A different staff member answered, and her attitude was extremely rude—not only did she fail to offer an apology, but she also showed zero concern for the missing items. Instead, she simply told me to email a list of lost items and their total value. I sent an email with a detailed list, including my sunglasses, and a few hours later, the housekeeping manager reached out. I explained that I preferred to have my belongings returned rather than receive compensation and requested a thorough investigation. The manager initially seemed understanding and promised to do their best. However, after several days of silence, I called again on February 25. This time, the housekeeping manager’s attitude had completely changed. He claimed that their investigation found that the housekeeping staff and supervisor had entered my room but never discarded a LEGO bag. He offered no apology and spoke to me in an extremely rude and dismissive manner. At this point, I was beyond frustrated. If the housekeeping staff didn’t take my belongings, then who did? If, as he claimed, the housekeeping staff did not discard it, then someone must have stolen it, which makes me believe that this hotel has extremely poor security. Either way, it is completely unacceptable that a guest’s belongings disappeared while under the hotel’s care, and their lack of accountability only made things worse. To make matters worse, I felt that their attitude changed the moment I left New York—as if they thought they no longer had to deal with me. Instead of helping, they became increasingly dismissive and rude over time. If you’re considering staying here, be extremely cautious with your belongings. The hotel provides poor service, lacks accountability, and has serious security concerns. I strongly advise against booking a stay here unless you’re prepared to risk your valuables disappearing with no resolution.

We had an amazing stay here! The front desk staff were incredibly helpful and very friendly. Right away during check in they were able to give us some nightlife recommendations and help us figure out the subway system. Shortly after we checked in I got a text asking how the room was, and extra towels were brought up to us promptly after being requested. The room itself was beautiful, quite spacious, modern, clean, and had an amazing view. The location was good too with several subway stations within a few minutes of walking, as well as the battery parking garage

I recently stayed at the Hotel Indigo NYC Financial District by IHG. Overall, the hotel has a great location, is clean, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. However, I had a concerning experience during my stay. My room was broken into, personal items were used, and I incurred a damage of $100. Although the hotel initiated an investigation and seemed genuinely concerned at the time, I have not received any follow-up regarding the investigation results or the reimbursement they agreed to. Despite several emails and calls from my side, the hotel has not responded. Additionally, it seems this is not the first time such an incident has occurred, particularly in rooms next to the stairway, as they had different locks from the inside compared to the other room I received after the incident. This raises serious concerns about the hotel's ability to ensure guest safety. I advise future guests to use the safe provided and avoid leaving valuable items in the room. This lack of communication and resolution is disappointing.

Great stay! Booked through 3rd party site and was able to get my reservation matched perfectly with double beds. Excellent location and value. Rooms are modern and clean. Staff was friendly. This was a weekend trip with my mother and we were very satisfied with this hotel, best stay in NYC to date.
