Excellent area in the Garden district. Close proximity to lots of restaurants and shops. Valet parking only. We were fortunate to find on street parking close by. Only complaint would be that there was no refrigerator in the room. Staff was great. Room was spacious, clean and modern. Comfortable bed. Quiet area .

Jun 11, 2025 · Richard L.My new husband and I stayed here during our wedding week. It's the perfect location, the rooms are lovely, and overall the quality of the hotel is quite nice. But as far as service goes, this is the worst Marriott property I've ever stayed at. A front desk agent kindly offered us a $25 amenity to use at the restaurant as a little wedding gift. When we went to use it, we were told it was invalid. No big deal. She also noticed our week-long stay and offered to get a mini fridge brought to us, but it took 5 days despite checking in daily about it. We also had two packages delivered. The first one, I received an email confirmation that it was delivered. When I visited the front desk, I walked up and explained I had a package to pick up. In the most unprofessional & rude tone I've ever heard, the agent responded with 'NAME??' before giving a major eye roll. She walked behind the desk to check, couldn't find it, came back. Asked to see proof of delivery. I showed her. Because it didn't say who signed for it, she refused to provide any further assistance. Instantly she started yelling at me, giving major attitude and simply refused to answer any of my questions or let me speak with someone else. I walked away and came back when another agent was working and he immediately found it. She was the only agent our whole week there who didn't wear a name badge while working. When we checked out, we mistakenly left two items in our room, and the second package had shown up late, after we checked out. On the day of checking out, we spoke with the new housekeeping manager who confirmed all 3 items were found and that he would call us for next steps, which never happened. We called every single day for 2.5 weeks, leaving messages for the housekeeping department and leaving messages at the front desk, and could not get in touch with anyone. No one ever returned our calls. Finally, a front desk agent, Lakellen, tracked down a supervisor and she helped coordinate the process. We were then told that they couldn't find the package; instead of owning up or taking responsibility, the agent's response was "well I can't make a package appear out of thin air". There was no hospitality, no willingness to look into the issue further or find a solution - just sass. I was planning to talk with a manager until I got a call that it was found. Here we are, 3 weeks after checking out and a shipping label provided days ago, and our items still haven't left the hotel. If you're expecting a helpful staff and hospitable hotel, go literally anywhere else. And in a city like New Orleans where hospitality thrives, it's especially unacceptable. As someone who works in events around the world at many different hotel properties, I can easily say this was one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever experienced. Marriott should consider removing this property from their portfolio as it certainly does not live up to standards.
Jun 12, 2025 · Anja MatukicHotel Tonnelle is exactly what you hope to find when staying in New Orleans—a boutique hotel that’s fresh, comfortable, and full of charm, tucked right along the picturesque St. Charles Avenue streetcar line. From check-in to checkout, the experience was seamless. The lobby is modern yet cozy, with subtle nods to NOLA flair and a welcoming energy that immediately puts you at ease. The staff was warm, helpful, and genuinely friendly—quick with recommendations and always available without being overbearing. Our room was clean, thoughtfully designed, and surprisingly quiet given the central location. Comfortable bedding, plenty of space, and little touches like local artwork and great natural light made it feel like a calm retreat after a full day (or night) of exploring. Location-wise, it’s hard to beat. You’re just far enough from the chaos of the French Quarter to relax, but close enough to hop on the streetcar and be there in minutes. Plus, you’re surrounded by great restaurants and Magazine Street gems. We came into town for a wedding and couldn’t have asked for a better place to unwind between events. Hotel Tonnelle delivers boutique hospitality with big city convenience—and we’ll definitely be booking again next time we’re in town.
Apr 12, 2025 · Cory D. D. Miller5 Stars – Exceptional Service and Southern Hospitality We had an amazing stay at Hotel Tonnelle in New Orleans! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel completely welcome and well taken care of. A special shoutout to Malik at the front door, who went above and beyond with his recommendations. Whether it was letting us know the best local restaurants, unique activities, or spots for enjoying the nightlife, Malik had the perfect suggestion every time. His knowledge of the city and warm personality truly elevated our trip…we greatly appreciated the insight. We also want to highlight Miss Candi, who was incredibly accommodating and kind. She took extra care to make sure our room met my wife’s special needs, which made our stay so much more comfortable and stress-free. Her attention to detail and compassion really meant a lot to us. Both Malik and Miss Candi were absolute gems—super helpful and genuinely invested in making sure we had a fantastic experience. We will definitely be back to New Orleans—not just for the amazing food and fun, but because Hotel Tonnelle and its incredible team made us feel right at home. Highly recommend!
Apr 18, 2025 · Marquise PrenticeHorrible, rude service. When I pointed out that the internet was not working in the room I was told that “it is an amenity” meaning that it was not an essential part of the service. I asked to move to another room and they told me that I was out of luck as they were fully booked. For most reasonable people, a $400 a night room with inoperable internet is a joke. Rudeness is just the icing on the cake. As an aside, the noise was unreal. If you have another choice, you may want to skip this hotel. ---- Update - the manager finally contacted me, almost a week after we stayed at the hotel. She said "sorry for your experience, here are a few extra miles to make you happy. Sorry, no refund of any sort. You don't have to come back if you don't like it". Everyone, please draw your own conclusions.
