We had a great experience at the Lake Placid Inn. The building is simple and clean, and is conveniently located in town. Our unit was very clean and the beds were comfortable. The kitchen was spacious and it was easy for us to cook. There was plenty of storage space for all our food in the kitchen and for all our ski gear in the closets. However, the rooms were very bright at night because of outdoor floodlights, and there were no room darkening shades. Also, the sofa and chairs could have been a little more comfy. The unit didn't have any decorations on the walls at all. The management company was very responsive when we had a clogged toilet, and someone came over quickly. Overall, it was a good place to stay.

Lake Placid Inn: Main Street Introduce

For those seeking a convenient, comfortable, and self-sufficient lodging option in the heart of Lake Placid, New York, the Lake Placid Inn: Main Street emerges as a compelling choice within the "Hotels Near Of Me" category. Located at 2617 Main St, Lake Placid, NY 12946, USA, this establishment distinguishes itself by offering apartment-style units rather than traditional hotel rooms, making it particularly well-suited for families, groups, or longer stays where the ability to cook and have ample space is valued. Its central location on Main Street places guests directly amidst the vibrant pulse of the village.

The environment surrounding Lake Placid Inn: Main Street is characterized by its unparalleled centrality and access to Lake Placid's main attractions. Guests consistently highlight its "central location and walking distance to restaurant, town shopping, movies, bars," emphasizing the convenience of exploring the village on foot. Being "right down town" means guests are just steps away from Mirror Lake, numerous eateries ranging from casual cafes to fine dining, boutique shops, and entertainment venues. For sports enthusiasts and history buffs, the Olympic Center is within easy walking distance, with one review specifically mentioning "Apartment 206 was wonderful overlooking the Olympic center." This prime position allows guests to immerse themselves in the Olympic legacy and the natural beauty of the Adirondacks without the need for extensive travel. The building itself is described as "simple and clean," fitting into the charming downtown aesthetic. While the location is a significant advantage, some units might experience brightness at night due to "outdoor floodlights" and a lack of "room darkening shades," which is a consideration for light-sensitive sleepers. However, the overall environmental benefit of being in the heart of Lake Placid, with easy access to both village amenities and outdoor activities, far outweighs this minor inconvenience for many travelers. The proximity to Whiteface Mountain (a roughly 20-minute drive) also makes it an excellent base for ski vacations, with ample "storage space for all our ski gear in the closets" within the units.

The services at Lake Placid Inn: Main Street emphasize ease, self-sufficiency, and responsive support. The check-in process is described as "easy, quick and very friendly," setting a positive tone for the stay. Guests commend the "Front desk and housekeeping" for being "very accommodating with needs and assistance," indicating a helpful and customer-focused approach. A crucial service, especially for apartment-style lodging, is the responsiveness of the management. One reviewer noted that "The management company was very responsive when we had a clogged toilet, and someone came over quickly," demonstrating efficient problem-solving. While traditional daily hotel services like turn-down service are not typically offered in an apartment setup, the provision of well-equipped kitchens allows guests to cater to their own dining needs, a significant service for families or those with dietary preferences. The availability of kitchen amenities, including ample storage, makes "it easy for us to cook." Although not explicitly detailed in the provided reviews, typically, apartment-style accommodations like this would offer linens, towels, and basic toiletries upon arrival, with cleaning services potentially provided on a less frequent basis or upon request for longer stays. The overall service model focuses on providing the necessary resources for an independent and comfortable stay, coupled with a supportive management team ready to address issues promptly.

Lake Placid Inn: Main Street offers a range of features designed for comfort and practicality, particularly for longer stays or groups. The key feature is the apartment-style accommodations, which are "spacious for a family of 8" and described as "very clean." These units typically include full kitchens, complete with appliances and ample "storage space for all our food." The beds are noted as "comfortable," ensuring a good night's sleep. Units also offer significant storage, including "plenty of storage space... for all our ski gear in the closets," which is a crucial amenity for winter sports enthusiasts. While the units are functional, some guests have offered constructive recommendations for enhancing comfort and convenience, such as adding a "dresser in the living room" for sofa bed users, an "extra bed side table" in the primary bedroom, an "extra closet in the secondary bedroom" for longer stays, and an "ice maker in the unit." Other suggested additions include "hooks in the hallway for coats," a "bench in the entrance to facilitate the boot removal," and a "carpet at the entrance to avoid the wet trail down the hall," indicating a focus on practical improvements for guests, especially during winter. The units offer amenities like a flat-screen TV and complimentary Wi-Fi, which are standard for modern lodging. Some units might offer specific views, like the "wonderful overlooking the Olympic center" from Apartment 206. While the aesthetic might be "simple" and lacking "decorations on the walls at all" in some units, the emphasis is clearly on functionality and cleanliness. The property is also noted as offering free parking, which is a valuable feature in a bustling downtown area.

Regarding promotional information, Lake Placid Inn: Main Street primarily promotes its value proposition through its prime "central" location and the spacious, self-sufficient apartment-style accommodations, which are ideal for families and groups. The enthusiastic customer reviews, highlighting the "great experience," "very clean" units, and "accommodating" staff, serve as strong organic endorsements. The ease of booking and the comfort provided ("very welcoming") are key promotional points. While specific discount codes or large-scale loyalty programs like major hotel chains were not detailed, the inn likely offers competitive rates for its unique offering, especially compared to booking multiple traditional hotel rooms for a group. The ability to cook in a full kitchen can also represent a significant cost-saving for guests on longer stays. The explicit mention of the units being suitable for a "family of 8" and accommodating "ski gear" directly appeals to target demographics. The repeat business ("We would definitely stay here again" and "plan to visit again in the near future") from satisfied guests is a powerful form of promotion, indicating high customer satisfaction. Travelers are encouraged to directly contact Lake Placid Inn: Main Street at (518) 523-6162 or visit their official website (if available) to inquire about current availability, seasonal rates, and any special offers or packages that might be running for their desired travel dates. Given its apartment-style setup, booking directly or through reputable vacation rental platforms might provide the most accurate and up-to-date information when searching within the "Hotels Near Of Me" category.

Location is central and walking distance to restaurant, town shopping, movies, bars. The check in was easy, quick and very friendly. Front desk and house keeping was very accommodating with needs and assistance. Apartment 206 was wonderful overlooking the Olympic center. Spacious for a family of 8. We would definetly stay here again. But I do have some recommendations to better accommodate the guest and better maintain the cleanliness and current condition of the apartment: A dresser in the living room is necessary for the guest sleeping on the sofa bed, An extra bed side table would be very helpful in the primary bedroom, An extra closet in the secondary bedroom would be helpful for stays longer than a long weekend and for the additional guest in the living room area, Ice maker in the unit would be much appreciated, Hooks in the hallway for coats, A bench in the entrance to facilitate the boot removal and prevent the salt and water from spreading down the hallway, A carpet at the entrance to avoid the wet trail down the hall. I hope you find this helpful and constructive recommendations. With that said we loved it and found it very welcoming. We enjoyed our Christmas getaway in this lovely apartment very much and plan to visit again in the near future.

Room was new, clean and large. Kitchen well equipped, bed very comfortable, need luggage rack. It was a bit noisy when people came and went. Also, I would highly suggest putting a rug inside the door to preserve the beautiful new flooring!

The rental is clean, spacious and in a great location right across from the Olympic center. The kids had a great time people watching from the window! Guests may need to be reminded about quiet hours as one of our teens woke us up around 1 am stating the neighbors were playing music and singing extremely loud next to their room. I sent a quick text to the property management and I believe around 30 minutes later it was handled, although other than a generic message stating they received our concern, we didn’t hear from them.

I rented a 2-bedroom apartment at Lake Placid Inn Main Street for a long weekend. I stayed with half my family while my son was participating in a Can/Am Hockey tournament and stayed at the Boutique Hotel down the street with my husband and the team. Overall, we had a great stay and I would recommend the Lake Placid Inn Main Street. Some specifics: The Good: This is a perfect location, right across the street from the Olympic Center, behind Subway and close to several small bars/restaurants- Origins Coffee and The Boat were two of our favorites. I rented skis at Cunninghams, which is across the parking lot and very convenient. We skiied at Whiteface, which was an easy 15 minute drive. The kitchen was why I rented here, because my son and husband had to be on the expensive Can/Am meal plan and I wanted no part of that for the rest of us. The dishwasher was a huge plus. There was plenty of closet space, the bathroom was large and the shower/hot water were perfect on the freezing days we had up there. Plenty of linens were provided and the apartment was clean. Suggestions: It is stated in the rental agreement, but check- in is at the sister property down the street. There is no front desk or anyone to talk to at this actual location. This needs to be in huge print somewhere when you book the place- we had things out of the car and bags in hand and had to load it all back in to drive down the street and check in/get the key. The kitchen could use some more items. Technically this rental sleeps six, and I was only there with one adult and two older children. I went through the plates and utensils pretty fast. There are no oven mitts or baking pans, and one very small cutting board that really isn't large enough for much of anything. There needs to be a larger garbage can for kitchen trash. As other reviewers have said, hooks near the door for coats, an absorbent floor mat (or any floor mat) for salt and snow, and a table, bench or something near the entry to put down keys, etc... would be very helpful. It was a little noisy at night but it had snowed and we were very impressed at how well the sidewalks and streets were clear early in the morning. Overall, great location and I would definitely recommend this rental.
