The services at The Haus, Lake Placid, are tailored to provide a self-sufficient yet comfortable and convenient stay, leaning more towards an apartment-hotel model. Each suite is designed to be a "home away from home," featuring a full-sized, stainless steel kitchen. These kitchens are comprehensively equipped with essential appliances such as a refrigerator, microwave, oven, stovetop, and dishwasher, along with cookware, dishware, and utensils, allowing guests the flexibility to prepare their own meals. This is a significant advantage for families or those on longer stays. Many suites also include in-room laundry facilities (washer and dryer), a highly valued convenience for active travelers, especially after hiking or skiing. While The Haus operates with a more streamlined front desk presence compared to a large resort, guests can expect prompt assistance when needed. Complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi is standard in all rooms and public areas, ensuring guests can stay connected for work or leisure. Although there isn't an on-site restaurant in the traditional sense, the hotel's central location means guests are surrounded by an abundance of dining options within easy walking distance. The property provides parking, typically a permit for one vehicle in a nearby municipal lot, which is a crucial service in a busy downtown area. Housekeeping services are provided daily, ensuring cleanliness and comfort throughout the stay. The management also demonstrates attention to detail and guest celebrations, as evidenced by gestures like leaving a "sweetest card, balloons and a small bottle of wine to celebrate" for honeymooners. While it's important to note the policy regarding oversized sports gear and the absence of a traditional concierge service, the overall service model is geared towards providing guests with the independence and amenities for a truly comfortable and personalized experience.
The features of the accommodations at The Haus, Lake Placid, are designed with a "modern Adirondack design" and a focus on luxury, space, and comfort. The property consists of 10 apartment-style suites, each "uniquely decorated with different types of views and furnishings." These are not standard hotel rooms but rather spacious layouts, ranging from studio suites to multi-bedroom apartments, making them suitable for various traveler needs. A prominent feature in many suites is a cozy fireplace, which adds to the "coziness" and "rustic charm," especially during the colder months. The commitment to eco-friendly decor and construction, using fair trade and eco-friendly furnishings, is another distinguishing feature, appealing to environmentally conscious travelers. Air conditioning is available in the rooms, providing comfort during warmer periods. Get directionsMy husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon. They left us the sweetest card, balloons and a small bottle of wine to celebrate. The view from our room was incredible. We really enjoyed the coziness and amenities. The location was awesome, right in the middle of everything. We had no issues with the parking pass. Will be back again when we visit Lake Placid!
May 17, 2025 · Kaitlyn ZookStayed in the fall with my wife. Apartment/ hotel was right in the middle of everything. The place was spotless. View was incredible. 100% going back again.
Dec 28, 2024 · David CoyneWe did a mid week get away in July 2024 and we loved The Haus. We stayed in Suite 8 which is a walk up on the third floor. The suite had everything we needed. The lake view from this unit is amazing. The village does live music on Tuesday nights in the park next door and we had the best seats in the house sitting on the private balcony! We will be back.
Jul 12, 2024 · Matthew SchneckKinda struggling with this one. By no means is it a 5 star hotel but the location is good and the view of the lake very good. The bed was comfy and all the expected amenities were there from a coffee maker to bathroom amenities. On the negative side, the step ups between rooms were unusual to navigate and the walled in porch was pretty uninviting.
Jul 05, 2024 · Norman AamodtWonderful room, well equipped kitchen. Balcony is large and has beautiful views over Mirror Lake and the mountains. The staff are friendly and responsive. We will definitely stay here again.
