I give this extended stay PRAISE. The upkeep of the place is consistent. There is no idle loitering or kids running wild around the place. The trash area is always clean. The employees are really nice as well. The rooms are clean with no stale smoke smell. My 30 days there was comfortable. I highly recommend this place..Just know the rules are definitely ENFORCED so if you looking for a spot busy with noise, drugs, hanging out, random police presence trash all around then this is DEFINITELY NOT the place for you.
Live In Lodge, located at 4350 Stone Mountain Hwy, Lilburn, GA 30047, USA, is an extended stay hotel designed for guests seeking longer-term accommodation in the "Hotels Near Of Me" category. It positions itself as a practical and affordable option for those requiring temporary housing, whether for work, relocation, or extended leisure.
The Live In Lodge is situated along Stone Mountain Highway (US-78), a major thoroughfare in Lilburn, Georgia. This location offers relatively convenient access to a variety of points of interest in the eastern Gwinnett County area. Key attractions and facilities within a short drive include:
The immediate environment of Live In Lodge is typical of a highway-side extended stay property, often characterized by a mix of commercial businesses and residential areas. The hotel offers free self-parking on site, which is a crucial amenity for an extended stay hotel, accommodating guests with vehicles. Some reviews indicate that rules regarding loitering and general upkeep of common areas, like the trash area, are consistently enforced, which can contribute to a more orderly environment for long-term residents. However, other reviews contradict this, mentioning cleanliness issues in rooms and around the property, as well as concerns about negative activities, which could significantly impact the perceived safety and comfort of the environment.
Live In Lodge provides amenities specifically tailored for extended stays, aiming to give guests a more home-like experience. The hotel features 120 guest rooms, each equipped with a kitchenette. These kitchenettes typically include a full-sized refrigerator/freezer, stovetop, and microwave, allowing guests to prepare their own meals and reduce dining costs during longer stays. Rooms also include complimentary wireless internet access (advertised at 250+ Mbps, suitable for multiple devices), flat-screen TVs with satellite channels and streaming services (though some reviews mention issues with streaming service connectivity upon arrival). Private bathrooms come with bathtubs or showers and complimentary toiletries. Daily housekeeping is provided, which is a positive for an extended stay property, as some budget extended stays offer less frequent service.
Other general services and amenities include a 24-hour front desk (though some sources indicate limited check-in hours from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM, so it's advisable to confirm for late arrivals), laundry facilities for guest use, and concierge services. Free WiFi is available in public areas. The property is described as non-smoking. For guests with pets, Live In Lodge is pet-friendly, allowing pets for an extra charge of $5 per pet, per day (maximum $35 per stay), with service animals exempt from fees. While some online descriptions might mention features like a garden or terrace, recent detailed guest feedback does not consistently highlight these as prominent or well-maintained amenities.
It's important to note the disparity in reported amenities and their condition. While the presence of kitchenettes and free WiFi is consistent, aspects like water pressure have been described as "horrible" in some reviews. The quality of basic in-room items like blankets and pillows has also been criticized, with one review mentioning only one pillow and no blanket provided.
The primary distinctive feature of Live In Lodge as an extended stay option is its focus on providing apartment-style living at potentially affordable weekly or monthly rates. The inclusion of kitchenettes in all rooms allows for significant cost savings on food, which is a major advantage for long-term guests. The hotel's policy of strictly enforcing rules is highlighted in a positive review, suggesting an environment that aims to be free from noise, drug activity, and excessive police presence, which can be appealing for guests seeking a more peaceful and stable extended stay. The absence of a deposit requirement has also been noted as a beneficial feature for some guests.
However, an objective introduction must also address the significant negative feedback. Multiple reviews express serious concerns about cleanliness, with specific mentions of "filthy" rooms, visible dirt, and even presence of "roaches and rats." Customer service has been described as "incompetent" and staff attitudes as "horrible," with issues ranging from unaddressed streaming service problems to unexplained placement on a "Do Not Rent" list. Reports of past incidents, such as a "shooting there a while ago," and observations of long-term tenants being "ghetto," contribute to a concerning picture regarding safety and guest experience. The description of beds as "overpriced hard beds" and a general perception of the hotel being "overpriced" despite its budget nature indicates a mismatch between cost and perceived value for some guests.
The presence of amenities like full-sized refrigerators is mentioned, but the exact condition and accessibility of these can vary based on guest experiences. Unlike some extended stay properties, there's no mention of a complimentary breakfast, and the hotel explicitly states it does not have a swimming pool. Check-in and check-out times are fairly restrictive (check-in 9:00 AM-7:00 PM, check-out 11:00 AM).
Live In Lodge primarily targets guests seeking cost-effective long-term accommodation. Its promotional appeal lies in its extended stay format with in-room kitchen facilities and its location offering easy access to Stone Mountain Park and major roadways. The competitive weekly or monthly rates, and the no-deposit policy, are likely key attractions for this market segment.
However, for local users searching on "Hotels Near Of Me," it is critical to present a balanced view. While some guests have had positive experiences, praising cleanliness and staff demeanor, the volume and severity of negative reviews cannot be overlooked. Prospective guests should be acutely aware of reported issues regarding:
Given the vastly conflicting reviews, potential guests are strongly advised to consider their priorities carefully. For those who prioritize strict adherence to rules and a quiet environment, and are willing to overlook potential maintenance issues, the positive reviews might resonate. However, for others, the widespread complaints about cleanliness, service, and safety could be deterrents. Direct communication with the hotel at (770) 972-6042 or +1 770-972-6042 to clarify any concerns before booking, especially for an extended stay, would be highly recommended to ensure it meets individual expectations for an "extended stay hotel near me."
