⭐ 1/5 This was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. Here’s why: • Upon arrival, the receptionist was extremely rude. They took a non-refundable deposit, which was never mentioned on the website or anywhere in the hotel. When I asked about it, the staff had no proper explanation—just a “this is our policy” response. • Terrible service from start to finish. No one helped with our luggage, no trolley was offered, and the entire staff was unfriendly and unwelcoming. • The room itself was spacious because I took the two stories which is rare for NYC, but no one explained the facilities—something I expect from Hilton. • Housekeeping was awful. Our room wasn’t cleaned, and we had to beg the cleaning staff to do it. • A huge cockroach appeared in our room. We complained, but nothing was done. • AC in the downstairs bedroom didn’t work. • Hilton Honors points weren’t added, with no explanation. • I requested a late checkout since I had a UN session until 12 PM. The receptionist rudely told me I’d be charged extra. Only after complaining to the manager (about the cockroach!) did they extend it to 2 PM. • No one explained breakfast times, gym access, or restaurant details. • A large, disgusting stain was on the stairs—how does Hilton allow this? • The only helpful staff member was Mr. Frank, who assisted us with renting an umbrella (because no one else bothered to explain how it worked). The only positives: 1-The manager was nice, but he didn’t offer any compensation or solutions. 2-The location is convenient for the UN. 3-the view of the room

Millennium Hilton New York One UN Plaza Introduce

Looking for accommodation near the United Nations in New York City? Millennium Hilton New York One UN Plaza, located at One Un Plaza, is listed under the 'Hotels Near Of Me' category. Recent guest reviews present significantly contrasting experiences, which travelers from Taiwan should carefully consider.

One guest rated their stay a very low 1 out of 5 stars, detailing numerous negative aspects. They reported an "extremely rude" receptionist who imposed a "non-refundable deposit" that was not mentioned on the website or elsewhere in the hotel and provided no proper explanation for it. The service was described as "terrible from start to finish," with no assistance offered for luggage, unfriendly and unwelcoming staff. Despite having a spacious two-story room (rare for NYC), the guest noted that no one explained the hotel's facilities. Housekeeping was labeled as "awful," with the room not being cleaned until they had to "beg" the staff. A "huge cockroach" appeared in their room, and despite complaining, no action was taken. The AC in the downstairs bedroom was not working. Their Hilton Honors points were not added without explanation. A late checkout request for a UN session was initially rudely refused and only extended after complaining to the manager about the cockroach. The guest also mentioned a lack of information regarding breakfast times, gym access, and restaurant details, as well as a "large, disgusting stain" on the stairs. The only helpful staff member noted was Mr. Frank, who assisted with an umbrella. While the manager was described as nice, they reportedly offered no compensation or solutions. The only positives for this guest were the convenient location for the UN and the view from the room.

In stark contrast, another guest reported having stayed at the property twice and "enjoyed every minute" of their stays. They praised the "recently refurbished" rooms as "much more spacious than the average NYC hotel" with "great views, comfortable beds and large bathrooms." They found the "hotel staff is friendly and attentive" and the location "fabulous," being one block from the UN and a short walk from Grand Central Terminal. While acknowledging that the room rates "can be a little pricey during certain months," they felt it was "worth every penny" and stated they would "definitely stay here again!"

The services and features mentioned include spacious (especially two-story) and recently refurbished rooms, comfortable beds, large bathrooms, potential city views, a manager, and staff at the front desk and housekeeping. The hotel has a lounge (implied by breakfast being served), a gym (mentioned as having unexplained access), and a restaurant (also with unexplained details). Its location is convenient for the United Nations and within walking distance of Grand Central Terminal.

The provided reviews do not contain information about specific promotional offers available at the time of these stays. Travelers from Taiwan interested in Millennium Hilton New York One UN Plaza should check the official Hilton website or contact the hotel directly at +1 212-758-1234 (international dialing from Taiwan requires adding Taiwan's international access code) for any current promotions or Hilton Honors member benefits.

In conclusion, Millennium Hilton New York One UN Plaza appears to offer a potentially pleasant stay with spacious, recently updated rooms and a convenient location, according to one reviewer. However, another guest experienced severe issues with rude service, undisclosed charges, poor room conditions, and unhelpful staff. Travelers from Taiwan should weigh these significantly different experiences when considering this hotel. It may be prudent to seek more recent reviews from various sources to get a broader understanding of the current guest experience.

I have stayed at this property twice, and have enjoyed every minute of my stay! The rooms are recently refurbished, much more spacious than the average NYC hotel, and have great views, comfortable beds and large bathrooms. The hotel staff is friendly and attentive. The location is fabulous. One block from the UN, and a short walk from Grand Central. Room scan be a little pricey during certain months, but it is worth every penny. Will definitely stay here again!

I stayed here for three nights during NYFW and had a great experience. The room was clean and spacious, featuring a walk-in closet and an incredible view of the city. The staff was friendly and welcoming, making the stay even more enjoyable. The area felt very safe, which was a huge plus. While the elevators were a bit slow at times, it wasn’t a major issue. I also had a drink at the bar, which was fine. Overall, a solid stay in a convenient location—I’d definitely consider returning!

I had a very disappointing stay at this Hilton. The customer service was awful, and the overall experience was frustrating. My room door wouldn’t open even though it was activated, and I was left waiting outside for 51 minutes before someone finally helped. Even after they “fixed” it, the issue happened again! On top of that, basic amenities like water weren’t complimentary—I was told I’d be charged, even though I had already paid a $35 fee. My Hilton Honors points were also not added to my account. When I asked, they told me to wait 48 hours, but it has now been five days, and still nothing. The room itself was disappointing—dusty, with a stained carpet that made it feel unclean. I stayed in room 3203, and the only good things about it were the nice view and the convenient location. Overall, I’m extremely unhappy with the service and would not recommend staying here. Hilton needs to do much better when it comes to cleanliness, customer service, and honoring their commitments to loyal guests.

Disappointing Stay – Misleading Views & Unacceptable Cleanliness I had high expectations for this hotel based on its website descriptions and a phone call with a representative, but unfortunately, my experience was deeply disappointing. The primary reason for booking this hotel was the promised “lavish city view,” but what we received was far from it. The view was underwhelming, nothing like the beautifully curated photos online or the assurances given over the phone. It felt misleading and left us feeling like we had been given a less desirable room than what was advertised. However, the most disturbing part of our stay was the cleanliness—or lack thereof. Upon entering the room, the very first thing we saw was a roach. This was not only disgusting but completely unacceptable for any hotel, let alone one that presents itself as a high-quality establishment. It immediately set a negative tone for the entire stay, making it hard to feel comfortable. Overall, this hotel did not live up to expectations in any way. The misrepresentation of the view and the glaring issue with cleanliness made for an unpleasant experience. I would not recommend staying here unless major improvements are made.
