Place is horrendous. Found needle caps in the bathroom and was disgusting. Not only that they find any reason to ask you to leave and clearly don't want a family together. Don't ever go here. They are judgmental and make up whatever to fit there own agenda.

Rocky Neck Inn & Suites is situated on West Main Street in Niantic, Connecticut, offering a location that provides relatively easy access to local attractions and roadways. Its name, "Rocky Neck Inn & Suites," directly refers to its proximity to the popular Rocky Neck State Park, which is a significant draw for visitors to the area. Rocky Neck State Park is known for its beaches, salt marsh, and recreational activities, making the hotel's location potentially appealing for outdoor enthusiasts and families looking to enjoy the Connecticut coastline. The hotel is also positioned to offer access to other regional attractions, including the major casinos like Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods Resort Casino, although it is not directly adjacent to them. Its location allows for convenience for travelers exploring the wider Niantic and East Lyme area, including local shops, dining establishments, and other points of interest. The immediate environment around the hotel is consistent with a roadside lodging facility, with access to nearby services. The presence of ample parking is a practical benefit for guests arriving by car. Check-in time is typically 2:00 PM, and check-out is by 12:00 PM. The front desk operates for limited hours (typically 8:00 AM - 9:00 PM), and guests are advised to contact the property in advance for check-in instructions if arriving outside these hours.
Based on available information, Rocky Neck Inn & Suites focuses on providing basic and essential amenities for a functional stay. The hotel is noted to offer free Wi-Fi in rooms and public areas, a standard amenity for modern travelers. Rooms are equipped with air conditioning for comfort. Some listings indicate that rooms may include a kitchen, microwave, and fridge, suggesting potential for extended stay capabilities or self-catering options, though the extent of kitchen facilities is not consistently detailed. Other in-room amenities may include a television, telephone, desk, sitting area, hairdryer, and ironing board. While some sources mention "breakfast included" as a popular amenity, specific details about the type or quality of breakfast (e.g., continental, hot) are not broadly detailed. The hotel provides on-site parking for guests. It is important to note that, according to some comprehensive amenity lists, Rocky Neck Inn & Suites does not feature a pool and does not allow pets, which might be a crucial factor for some travelers despite older listings that may suggest otherwise for other properties. The property has a front desk, though with limited hours, implying that service might not always be immediately available. Some information suggests "lounge" as an amenity, but its current operational status or nature is unclear. Housekeeping services are typically part of hotel operations to maintain room cleanliness.
The defining characteristics of Rocky Neck Inn & Suites, as portrayed by various sources, include its budget-friendly nature and its location near Rocky Neck State Park. The potential for in-room kitchenettes (where available) is a key feature, offering guests flexibility for meals. Free Wi-Fi and complimentary parking are practical amenities that enhance the value proposition. However, a significant aspect of this hotel's profile, particularly based on recent customer reviews, pertains to substantial issues with cleanliness and maintenance. Reviews have explicitly mentioned finding "needle caps in the bathroom," "dirty silverware and plates," a "rusty" and non-draining tub, broken blinds, and inadequate heating. Furthermore, concerns about the quantity of provided towels (only one bath towel for two people) and a general smell of cigarettes have been raised. Beyond physical conditions, there are critical comments about staff interactions, with guests describing management as "judgmental" and making "up whatever to fit their own agenda," and even allegedly trying to find "any reason to ask you to leave." These reports suggest a challenging guest experience and potential issues with hospitality and professionalism. While some listings might present a standard set of amenities, these negative reviews paint a picture of a property that may not consistently meet basic cleanliness and service expectations. The hotel's focus, as indicated by some online information, appears to be on offering a basic, affordable place to stay, but the quality of that stay seems to be a significant concern for some guests.
Given its listing under the "Hotels Near Of Me" category, Rocky Neck Inn & Suites would likely promote itself as an economical option for travelers seeking accommodation in Niantic, especially those looking to visit Rocky Neck State Park or the nearby casinos. The promise of free Wi-Fi and parking would be standard elements of its promotional message. However, based on the highly critical and alarming customer reviews available, potential guests must exercise extreme caution and thoroughly manage their expectations. The severe issues raised, including concerns about cleanliness (e.g., "needle caps," "dirty silverware"), room conditions (e.g., rusty tub, broken blinds, poor heating), and alleged negative staff behavior (e.g., "judgmental," seeking reasons to expel guests), are significant deterrents. These direct accounts from former customers starkly contradict the typical positive image a hotel aims to project. Therefore, while the hotel might offer lower price points, the potential trade-off in terms of comfort, cleanliness, and service quality appears to be substantial. For local users considering this hotel, it is imperative to prioritize the detailed negative feedback. It is highly advisable for prospective guests to carefully weigh the stated issues against any perceived cost savings. Due to the nature of these highly concerning reviews, a strong recommendation cannot be given without acknowledging the very real risks associated with staying at this establishment. It is strongly suggested that travelers explore alternative accommodations in the Niantic area if they prioritize cleanliness, safety, and a welcoming environment. The information provided by past guests suggests that the hotel may not be suitable for families or anyone seeking a comfortable and hassle-free stay.

Jan 18, 2021 · Cory WrightHow thoughtful the owners are: We left a Daniel Tiger stuffed toy behind a few weeks ago and we didn't know where it was when we arrived home after our vacation. The Inn sent it to us when they discovered it after we left. Our son is so happy to have it back. Thanks Rock Neck Inn!
