Sleep Inn & Suites Niantic emphasizes delivering essential services to ensure a comfortable stay. A key offering is the complimentary hot breakfast. While one guest noted that the "hot breakfast needs A LOT of WORK" due to limited variety (scrambled eggs, flimsy flat sausage, limited cold cereal, apples/oranges, one waffle maker, no bagels or bread variety for toast), it still provides a convenient and included meal to start the day. This grab-and-go style, while not extensive, offers a basic sustenance.
The hotel prides itself on its cleanliness, which is a significant positive repeatedly highlighted by guests. Reviewers consistently note that the hotel and rooms are "Clean/ clean/ clean!" and "cleaned daily too. Excellent!" This commitment to hygiene is a strong indicator of the hotel's dedication to guest comfort. All guest rooms are equipped with air conditioning, ensuring a comfortable temperature. While a review mentioned a king suite being a handicapped room without clear labeling, the hotel typically aims to provide various room types to meet guest needs. However, the same review and others highlighted issues with room amenities like "outdated TVs" (described as "20 something inch TVs" or "first flat screens that were out") and a "sinking desk chair." While the bathroom space was described as "large/ new/ and clean," issues with "low water pressure in the sink/ shower" and a "maximum shower temperature was set so low that showers were tolerable, not comfortable" were also noted. These points suggest areas where service quality could be enhanced through upgrades and maintenance. The hotel does offer free WiFi in all rooms, and each room is equipped with a coffee/tea maker.
The features at Sleep Inn & Suites Niantic are designed to provide practical comfort for travelers. The hotel offers complimentary high-speed internet access, ensuring guests can stay connected. The core amenities are aimed at a no-frills, comfortable stay. The hotel is pet-friendly, a significant advantage for travelers with animals, though specific policies and fees should be confirmed directly.
Key features include:
While the hotel is lauded for its cleanliness, specific critiques mention areas for improvement in room features. The "smaller room size" for a king bed, leading to one side being "only inches from the wall" with no nightstand or lamp, indicates potential design inefficiencies. Issues with "poor sound insulation" allowing noise from adjacent rooms to be heard clearly suggest a need for upgrades in construction or soundproofing. The presence of "standing water" in the hallway carpet for an extended period points to maintenance issues requiring attention. Despite these challenges, the fundamental amenities provided aim to offer a satisfactory lodging experience. The hotel has 62 guestrooms across 3 floors.
Sleep Inn & Suites Niantic positions itself as a value-driven hotel that offers a clean and convenient stay. Its association with Choice Hotels allows guests to potentially leverage the Choice Privileges loyalty program, earning points and accessing member-exclusive rates. The inclusion of a complimentary hot breakfast and free parking adds significant value, making the overall stay more affordable for guests. Guests can typically find competitive rates by booking directly or through various online travel agencies like Booking.com, Expedia, and Hotels.com, often with flexible cancellation policies.
The hotel's primary promotional points revolve around its excellent cleanliness and strategic location near major attractions. For travelers on a budget or those seeking a clean place to rest after a day of exploring the casinos or coastline, these aspects are highly appealing. The pet-friendly nature of the hotel is also a strong draw for a specific segment of travelers, as it widens the accessibility of the property. While not explicitly detailed, the hotel's focus on these core offerings helps it appeal to a broad range of visitors to the Niantic area. The overall "good price" is frequently mentioned as a significant factor in guest satisfaction, indicating its strong value proposition.
Customer reviews for Sleep Inn & Suites Niantic highlight a consistent and overwhelmingly positive aspect: "Clean/ clean/ clean!" The exceptional cleanliness of both the rooms and the entire hotel, including daily cleaning services, is repeatedly praised by guests and is a major reason for potential repeat stays. The "very comfortable bed and pillows" also contribute to a restful experience. The friendly front desk staff and the hotel's "very convenient to highway / restaurants" location are additional positives. The "Good price" is frequently cited as a significant advantage.
However, several "significant misses" are also reported. The complimentary hot breakfast, while included, is described as "barely average" with "limited variety" in cereals, breads, fruits, and meats, and a need for a second waffle maker. Room design issues include king beds being "only inches from the wall" with no nightstand or lamp on one side, and a request for clearer labeling of handicapped rooms. Maintenance concerns were raised regarding "standing water" in the hallway carpet for days, "low water pressure in the sink/ shower," and "maximum shower temperature was set so low." Outdated technology is a recurring complaint, with guests urging the hotel to "update your TVs" from "20 something inch TVs" or "first flat screens that were out" to at least 34 inches. "Poor sound insulation," leading to noise from adjacent rooms being heard clearly, is another notable negative. A "sinking desk chair" that would not maintain position was also a specific functional issue. Despite these critiques, the overwhelming positive feedback on cleanliness and friendly service often leads guests to consider staying again, especially if the price remains competitive, indicating a balance between perceived value and areas for improvement.

Mar 24, 2025 · M. WatX1Lots of positives, but a few significant misses as well. Positives: 1) Clean/ clean/ clean! And cleaned daily too. Excellent! 2) Very comfortable bed and pillows. Slept well every night. 3) Friendly front desk. 4) Very convenient to highway / restaurants. 5) Good price. Negatives: 1) Our room had a king sized bed. Due to smaller room size one side of the bed was only inches from the wall. No nightstand or lamp on that side. (see photo) 2) There was a leak somewhere - walking to and from our room in the hallway we walked through a section of carpet that was standing water. We were here 3 days and 2 nights. So was the water. 3) Low water pressure in the sink/ shower. The space was large/ new/ and clean. Looked wonderful. But the water pressure was irritating and the maximum shower temperature was set so low that showers were tolerable, not comfortable. 4) Poor sound insulation. The lady across the hallway does not have an indoor voice. We know. We heard everything she said during our stay. Through 2 walls. 5) Sinking desk chair. I work at the desk. No matter what I tried the chair would not maintain any position other than its' lowest. So I had to sit on a pile of pillows to work at desk height. Would we stay here again? Yes, particularly due to the wonderful cleanliness. But we would also consider other hotels and price would be significant in our choice.
Mar 24, 2025 · John CurranFor the price you pay the rooms are decent. It is loud being by the highway. The biggest improvement would be the quality of the breakfast. The eggs are not eggs, the sausage is off and the juice is watered down. I didn’t try the coffee but others mentioned it had no flavor. So in conclusion enjoy the cheap stay and go to Dunkin’
Apr 14, 2025 · Fin CrazseaWe arrived at the hotel on June 8, 2024, looking forward to our fishing trip. However, our experience quickly turned sour due to the poor conditions of the hotel. The front desk attendant, who was inattentive and rude, checked us in. As soon as we entered our room, we were hit with a strong, musty odor of mold. After a long journey, I decided to take a shower while my 3-year-old nephew played with the ice bucket. To my horror, I noticed that the bucket was not empty and contained used napkins with fresh blood and used syringes. This was a shocking and disturbing discovery. When I brought this to the attention of the front desk staff, their response was dismissive and apathetic. Insisting on a new room, we were moved to another one, hoping for better conditions. However, the next room was even worse than the first. The windows were covered in mold, indicating a serious lack of proper maintenance and cleanliness. It was clear that the hotel was not up to standard, and I believe it is imperative for the health department to inspect the premises to ensure the safety of its guests. The overall experience was extremely disappointing and concerning.
Jan 19, 2025 · Iwona KaziulNice clean rooms. This hotel is only a few months old, so everything is new. Great beds, and modern bathroom. Great hot breakfast. Close to freeway and quiet.
