I would strongly warn you to avoid this company's properties. The apartment was architecturally beautiful and nicely located, but the floor and bathrooms were not clean. These were undesirable, but not insurmountable problems to me. The key fob to the front door also stopped working while I was there, and they did fix this the same day. The real problems were: For the duration of my three night stay in February there was no heat in the apartment, the temperature in the apartment ranged from 57-61 degrees. I contacted management on the first night, followed their protocols, extensively texted with their customer service and wasted a lot of time trying to cooperate with their systems. When the problem was not resolved (nor had maintenance come by) by 5pm the third night, I checked out to stay in a hotel. They refunded me $146 on a $492 stay. I was staying here for work, and it has been very difficult to get an itemized receipt required by my employer with prices and tax rates listed by night. The receipt I finally received was incorrectly filled out, appearing to have retro-fitted numbers created after I requested it rather than standard legitimate charges. I am still waiting for a correct receipt. I may not be able to get reimbursed for the uncomfortable two nights that I did spend in the apartment. Additionally, I was charged a $250 deposit that has yet to be returned to me. This stay was a very frustrating and costly experience.
When searching for accommodation within the "Hotels Near Of Me" category, especially for those who prefer more space and a home-like environment over a traditional hotel room, Sosuite at West Lofts - West Philadelphia presents itself as an option. Located at 220 S 47th St, Philadelphia, PA 19139, USA, Sosuite properties operate as apartment-style rentals, offering furnished units for short to extended stays. This type of accommodation caters to a specific niche of travelers who value independence, the ability to cook their own meals, and a more residential experience. This introduction will provide an objective overview of Sosuite at West Lofts - West Philadelphia, detailing its environment, services, features, and any available promotional information, based on information found online and insights from customer reviews.
The environment of Sosuite at West Lofts - West Philadelphia is situated in the vibrant and diverse neighborhood of West Philadelphia. Specifically, at 220 S 47th St, it places guests within close proximity to various local attractions, including the University of Pennsylvania and Drexel University, making it a suitable choice for visiting academics, students' families, or those attending events in the university city area. The architecture of the apartment units themselves is described as "architecturally beautiful," suggesting a modern or tastefully renovated interior within the loft style, which often features exposed elements or high ceilings. The overall building likely blends into the residential and mixed-use character of West Philadelphia. The immediate surroundings offer a local Philadelphia experience, with access to neighborhood eateries, shops, and public transportation. While not as centrally located as hotels in Center City, West Philadelphia provides a distinct charm and a more authentic local vibe, often at a more accessible price point. Guests looking to experience a different side of Philadelphia, away from the immediate tourist hubs, might find this location appealing. The area is generally considered walkable, allowing guests to explore nearby amenities on foot. Being an apartment-style property, the environment emphasizes self-sufficiency, with guests having their own private space rather than relying on shared hotel common areas, though the overall building entrance and hallways would be shared.
The services provided by Sosuite at West Lofts - West Philadelphia are structured around an independent, apartment-style living model, which differs significantly from a full-service hotel. Communication and problem resolution rely heavily on their customer service team, often through text or online platforms. One customer review highlighted extensive texting with customer service to resolve issues, indicating that this is their primary mode of interaction. While staff might not be physically on-site 24/7 like a traditional hotel front desk, their customer service is available for concerns. For issues like a non-working key fob, the review indicates that the problem was "quickly taken care of" and "communication was easy and quick," suggesting a responsive remote support system for operational problems. However, a significant point of concern raised in reviews was the lack of immediate on-site maintenance or heat resolution, leading to a "very frustrating and costly experience" for one guest when a critical issue like heating was not resolved during their stay. This underscores the reliance on remote support and potentially slower resolution for complex problems compared to a hotel with dedicated on-site engineering. Sosuite properties typically operate with self-check-in procedures, providing guests with codes or key fobs for access. Daily housekeeping, common in traditional hotels, is not a standard service here, aligning with the apartment rental model where guests manage their own space. While not explicitly stated, amenities like Wi-Fi are generally included, given the nature of modern apartment living.
The features of Sosuite at West Lofts - West Philadelphia are designed for self-contained living, offering more space and facilities than a standard hotel room. The units are apartment-style, meaning they typically include multiple rooms, often with separate bedrooms and living areas. Key features highlighted by guests include:

Feb 26, 2025 · Laila BalloutWas just what we where looking for. Two of the bedrooms the ceilings are a little low,but still comfy and was not an issue. We didn't have a key fob when we first checked in, but it was quickly taken care of. Communication was easy and quick to take care of the fob problem.
Apr 13, 2025 · Nichole KaczorowskiSosuite was like a home away from home! Very quick response with each questions I had. The apartment, the gym and the lounge area were all fantastic!!!! I will 100% recommend Sosuite West Loft to all my friends and family.
May 01, 2025 · Donna WoodsideGreat, secure location and cannot hear your neighbors! This spot was great for a long weekend. Having an on-site dog park was fantastic but keep in mind there are a lot of 4 legged residents but the owners are very respectful. The only downside is if you are staying with multiple people there is only 1 fob per unit which can make it difficult to get in and out of the building as you have to wait for the security guard to let you in. We had a great stay, enjoyed the apartment and it was comfy enough for our 2 dogs.
Oct 28, 2024 · Celia ThodenThis place as an air bnb is eclectically beautiful. High ceilings, multiple floors within a unit, multiple bedrooms and bathrooms. Very nice in his own way basic yet elegant way. However, if you're over 6 ft 2 and have a room similar to the one I stayed in with low hanging cross beams in them, your customer experience may not be the best. If you are driving, be patient because parking is difficult in this area there's no direct on-site parking it's all street parking in the middle of a neighborhood but overall a good experience
