Okay, I only recently reactivated my account with Wyndham after years of horrible stays & service. Welp… looks like not much has changed. Tonight, I took advantage of an opportunity to earn more points by booking online. I wish I would have looked for Marriott instead which is where I’ve been staying… This place is exterior entrance which is expected for a mountain area, so no problem there. There is a decent elevator which is nice because it’s 4 floors. I went up into the elevator after a long 8.5 hour drive and walked in. At first glance it was decent. I saw the patio/balcony with two rocking chairs for a great view of people driving by with a stellar set of fingerprints all over the windows. Looking like they hadn’t been cleaned in a bit. So I shrugged off the dirty windows and went to put my drinks away in the quite surprisingly larger mini fridge, but no thank you….again not the cleanest. I passed. It wasn’t horrible, but enough to turn me off. Don’t get me started on the microwave…. On to the shower because I was dying for a hot one. They do have great hot water! The tub however was covered in mildew. I put a small wash towel down because I needed my towels and I didn’t want to step on the floor either after seeing that. Some of it even washed away with the water and the wash towel. The very cheap hand held shower was leaking from the plastic tubing so water pressure is HORRIBLE. Got out to hop in bed because I’m here on business and am exhausted as I’m traveling several different areas out this way for the next few months for work so I was eager! I knew they still made beds with springs, just didn’t know they still made the ones where you could count the coils with your back and your crack. This was SO BAD. I read a review that said it was so comfortable and I wonder what they normally sleep on. Anyway, in bed all I kept doing was itching. Not sure if it’s the laundry soap or what but it had me freaking out turning up the covers looking for stuff and I’m sure you know what “stuff” I mean. There was a dead bug on the shower curtain as I showered but luckily nothing so far in my bed. It has a cozy table & chairs barricading the partition from the next room, which brings me to how thin the walls are. I can hear everything in the next room & believe me I wish I couldn’t. The balcony was kinda cool even with a strange view until I noticed the gap underneath the wall separating the balconies. It was like some weird bathroom stall & you’re just waiting for someone to pass some toilet paper or peer out underneath. Kinda creepy to me especially since I value my privacy, but hey maybe someone else wouldn’t mind someones kid crawling over who knows. What’s crazy is an actual adult can fit under there so if the table against their wall doesn’t block a willful neighbor they can always climb into your balcony & surprise you while you’re sleeping or early when you wake. NOT A FAN. I’m confused because this says Super 8, but when I reserved online it said Days Inn. I know its the same company, so are Taco Bell & KFC but you don’t see a bucket of chicken for a Taco Bell sign or vice versa. The front clerk wasn’t really sociable, friendly or horrible, but she did manage to laugh when I commented that their wifi passord is actually password. Other than that she was kinda short in convo & dry, but she got me checked in. What more can you ask for from a wonderlad like this? In conclusion I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND you pass this little gem on your way to a decent more cleaner night of sleep! Can’t give it two thumbs up, but perhaps maybe a toenail…. Update: After turning on the TV the only audible/visually working was a shopping channel. Nothing else had a full picture or sound. The smell of mold & mildew really hit me in the face this morning walking into the bathroom. Not my idea of a good morning. After a HORRIBLE night sleep I have horrible bags under my eyes & neck pain. I feel HORRIBLE & after trying to sleep in a bit before my first noon meeting “housekeeping” banged on my door at 9 am. I mean COME ON…..

Jan 05, 2025 · B THad to evacuate from the coast for hurricane florence and stayed here. Owner is incredibly nice man and went above and beyond to accommodate our family during our stay. The room was clean and comfortable, and we especially enjoyed the rocking chairs on the balconies. Was nice to relax after an 11 hour drive with a toddler and infant!
Sep 12, 2018 · Katharine MauchThe Hotel is right off the Blue Ridge Parkway situated in the Valley with the mountains all around. Hotel is nice and clean. Rooms are average. Beds comfortable. Very clean. However it got cold in the night and the heat did not work. It was 2am my husband and I in our bed clothes decided not to call for repair!! When explaining to the desk lady the next day when checking out, she was extremely rude and belligerent. Breakfast very good!
Oct 31, 2017 · Rebecca VanceThe cost of room, size of room and beautiful views were best part of this place. The staff were not very nice and they had no Drink Machine or snack machine on the premises and it was pretty far to a store . There was also a lot of questionable activity going on in room below us people came in and out all night long letting the door slam people out on their patio on the bottom level talking Extremely Loud until like 4 a.m. I was awakened at least once an hour all night all three nights we were there when I complained about the noise the owners or managers whichever seem to be annoyed that I brought it up and not annoyed that these people are making such a nuisance for others trying to enjoy good night sleep
Feb 17, 2018 · Traci BarnetteWorkers at the desk were very polite and easy to talk to. Breakfast is a nice touch given how affordable the stay is. AC works great and the view from the balcony is awesome again unexpected given how affordable this place is! Other than the fact that the rooms could use a bit of touch up I really have no complaints with my stay.
