The hotel rooms are very spacious for NY and recently renovated - really good. The bad is the overall service in the hotel, I had to wait in line for 15 mins to check in as there was one person checking people in and one person watching. After I checked out they emailed me my bill and I had been charged $87 for a bottle of minibar champagne that I did not drink. I emailed the Guest Relations Manager (Randy Cabrell) twice about this and I never received a reply. So, my recommendation is if you want good service and do not want to be charged for things you did not consume, run, don't walk away from this hotel.

Feb 27, 2025 · wade bernesbyThe property is well located, and nicely furnished. The suites are comfortable and beautifully designed. I loved the shower and bathroom amenities. While I stayed at the hotel several times in the past, I was a bit concerned about all the negative reviews since it’s become part of Marriott. However decided to give it a try anyway. Unfortunately, as many other people leaving reviews here, I’ve also encountered issues with the service/communication/random charges. MULTIPLE people mentioned earlier that it’s unclear that the room booked for 3 will not have a sleeper couch and you must request a rollaway bed for $65 (plus taxes). Well yes it IS unclear (and it wasn’t like this under Hilton; I stayed in this property several times when it was Conrad and never encountered such a nonsense). What’s more, I spoke with a front desk on the day of check-in (when I discovered that my couch is not a sleeper couch) and was told that I could’ve been upgraded to a room with a sleeper couch due to my status. However since there are no such rooms available, the bed fee would be waived. Nevertheless, at the checkout the fee was still on by bill and when the manager came down to speak, she insisted that I have to pay it, period. She wasn’t even nice about it, dismissed my earlier conversation with the front desk and refused to acknowledge that information about fees is not transparent, e.g. absolutely nothing mentioned on my booking confirmation, etc. In addition, there was food left by the previous guest in the mini fridge bar. And a charge was added for a minibar item that we didn’t consume (looks like the mini bar wasn’t checked between the guests).
Mar 29, 2025 · Oleg S.Extremely disappointing experience (still ongoing) We are currently staying at The Luxury Collection Manhattan Midtown, and what was supposed to be a memorable family trip has turned into a highly frustrating experience. First, we were given a suite with a strong and persistent cigarette smell. After reporting it, we were moved to a new room… only to discover that this second suite suffers from loud mechanical noise and wall vibrations caused by the building’s air system — confirmed by the hotel’s own maintenance staff, who also admitted nothing could be done about it. Despite several messages sent to the Front Office Manager (including a video showing the issue), we’ve received vague replies. Two nights without proper sleep at this price point (over $1,000/night) is simply unacceptable. We are still in the hotel at the time of writing this review, hoping that someone will finally take our situation seriously. At this level of hospitality, we expected much better. So far, all we’ve experienced is inconvenience and missed expectations.
