Overall we had a pretty good experience. We had a king room with a separate area with twin sofa bed. It was a good amount of space for a New York hotel. When we arrived there were only two hand towels and two washcloths for 3 people - we were quickly provided 3 bath towels. There was minimal hot water first day but other days were fine. We were fortunate that we were checking out 3/26 - there was a hand written sign on the door when we returned after broadway 3/25 that the hotel was closing. Next morning as we were leaving it looked like complete chaos as people were arriving and being told the hotel was closed.

Mar 26, 2025 · Amy ThesingThe entire building needs some TLC. The room we stayed in appears to not have been updated since 1980, judging from the toilet in the bathroom. Other than the appearance, it was a cheap room in a good location. If you're on a budget, this is a great option. There seemed to be a shortage of bath towels, shampoo, and soap. When requested, we were given extra, but to have to ask as soon as we got into the room was a bit much. The staff were pleasant and helpful, considering the depressing state of the property. Our room was over 80 degrees when we got there. We had to turn off the heater so it would stop pumping hot air into the room. We turned on the AC in the morning which helped lower the temperature. If your kids have some camping experience, they will be fine here. But, if there is an expectation of anything more than bare bones, you best move along to another hotel.
Jan 30, 2025 · Bill SismourTo put it simply: this place is just OK. The rooms are a little rough around the edges and the overall service needs to improve. Happy enough with our stay, but wouldn’t do it again. We got a discounted rate (because it was non-peak travel times), and if it wasn’t for that I would have been more disappointed. The location is perfect, however. Especially if being close to Central Park, Broadway, or Times Square is high on your priority list.
Mar 24, 2025 · Ethan CoxThe WORST customer service. I prepaid for the room. They will not accept American Express and I lost my Visa card. I prepaid and they will not let my family in the room and will not give us a refund. There is only 1 person working the hotel. The manager is only reachable vis email. Their credit card processing machine is not working and they will not let people check in. A big line building up. The worst……
Mar 24, 2025 · Jonathan ShankerThis is an old hotel. It was convenient to me since I attended a concert directly across the street at City Center. The room I reserved was large and had good overall features. The furniture is old and has some wear and tear but overall for the price I paid for the night the size of the room and the features compensated. The tub in the bathroom is also a jacuzzi but I didn't test it out since I was freezing because there was no heat!! It was one of those particularly cold nights and the following morning as well. The telephones were offline and could not be used. There are no USB outlets to charge devices only standard electrical outlets. They have WiFi though. The covers on the bed are very thin so couldn't stay warm. I was tired and fell asleep that night but the next morning woke up and was freezing. I went downstairs to the front desk the following morning to tell them there is no heat. The front desk person told me that he would give me another room. I told him that it was too late for that since I would be checking out that morning. The small heat/cool fixture on the wall obviously wasn't working. I closed the door to the bathroom and turned on the shower to hot water to warm up the bathroom. The hallways were toasty warm in the building so apparently they had heat there but not in my room. The only toiletries they provide in the bathroom are minimal. I would have enjoyed my stay if they had provided heat. There is also an ample side room for snacks. That side room has a sofa, a wall telephone, and a full bathroom. You will need your room card to get in. I was able to have a snack before I fell asleep.
