Jun 04, 2025 · Nicole Amidon45 minute walk from Canal Street. Great service, friendly staff, and very clean. Rooms are tidy and also have robes in room. The touch of the room all being physical keys and not key cards is nice! Felt like I was checking in to a different time period. Rooftop bar Tin Roof offers one of the BEST views of downtown New Orleans.
Jun 06, 2025 · Andrew BrittenhamWe stay at the Pontchartrain a couple times a year for the last 10 years but during our last visit in February we noticed a decline in service and cleanliness and will not stay there again. 1. Dirty wine glasses, coffee cups etc sat dirty in our room for 4 days. Housekeeping never took them from our room and didn’t replace the coffee cups with clean ones 2. Front desk unfriendly and not helpful to our needs. 3. Elevator is always broken well at least one of the two they have for guests On top of that the service elevator was also broken so all the employees had to use the one elevator. Including the housekeepers and their carts. 4 . Snack tray was basically empty when we checked in and was never replaced 5. Took half a day to get batteries for my tv remote control I kept having to go ask for it. 6. They charge a $25 resort fee per day when there’s no amenities to use. As a long time customer I can see something has changed and now as nice to stay as before. We filled out a review for them that they emailed us and told them everything I wrote above but they never responded or apologized so I guess they just don’t care.
Apr 22, 2025 · Constance RolandThe Pontchartrain Hotel was exactly my vibe and was the one number spot I wanted to stay. For me, it seemed to come out of the Twilight Zone with that history and style. Renting a car from the airport and parking with the Valet at this hotel was worth it! The staff at the front desk are very nice and the valet staff are super kind and very helpful. Jack Rose Restaurant, Hot Tin, and the Downstairs Bar were very clean and had a comfortable vibe. I was happy with my overall stay.
Mar 14, 2025 · Savvy BrownMy stay at the Pontchartrain Hotel was fine. It’s a perfectly nice hotel, but I will choose to stay somewhere else next time due to some hiccups. The rooms are nice, but lack some basic amenities like luggage stands and lotion. The phone only works on speaker. The rooms use physical keys (cute!), but you are only given one. I suggest that they offer two keys to guests in rooms with two beds. I had to constantly coordinate with my friend to make sure that we arrived back to the hotel at the same time or that the one of us in the room was available to open the door. This was told to me by a receptionist who was clearly frustrated with this system. When asked if there was a second key available, she responded, “No, and you better not lose it because it’s a $250 charge.” She said nothing about leaving the key at the desk in the morning, so my friend and I coordinated for 3 days until we realized that was an option. Note: I later saw a different receptionist check in other guests & she was more welcoming. She was very thorough with them & made this information more palatable. Housekeeping came twice during our five night stay on days 2 & 3. They did not replenish the bathroom products, including the toilet paper. The air conditioning is a wall/window unit, which means the room is either sweltering or freezing with no in between. I checked out during their morning audit, so they couldn’t give me a physical receipt. No problem - I’ll get an email in 20-30 min. Over an hour, and I have received no paperwork and I’ll have to call. All in all, I think your best bet is to stay somewhere else and visit the excellent restaurants & bars onsite.
