Perfect spot for a rest after a show in Boston. I needed somewhere close to go after a show at The Wilbur and this place was just right for me. Warm, modern, quiet, and room was really dark (that's good) which let me get a great night sleep. Everything was clean too. Only thing is, I'd have loved if the coffee bar was open early than 8am. I'll definitely stay again.

Situated at 40 Berkeley St, Boston, MA 02116, USA, this hotel is easily accessible and offers a refreshing departure from conventional accommodations. You can contact them at (617) 848-9200 or by mobile phone at +1 617-848-9200.

Environment: Historic Charm Meets Modern Edge

The Revolution Hotel occupies a beautifully repurposed historic building, formerly a YWCA dormitory, and masterfully blends its past with an industrial-chic and modern design aesthetic. The hotel's interior is a testament to Boston's revolutionary spirit, featuring bold pop-art murals, a striking 65-foot spray-painted artwork by Tristan Eaton in the lobby, and sculptural collages celebrating Bostonian inventions. This artistic and historical integration creates a highly engaging and unique atmosphere that sets it apart.

Located in the heart of Boston's historic South End, the hotel benefits from a prime location within one of the city's most picturesque and culturally rich neighborhoods. The South End is known for its stunning Victorian brownstones, tree-lined streets, and a lively scene of art galleries, boutiques, and diverse culinary establishments. Guests will find themselves within walking distance of popular attractions such as Copley Place, Newbury Street, Copley Square, and Boston Common. The hotel is also conveniently close to public transportation options like Back Bay Station (an 8-minute walk) and Arlington Station (a 10-minute walk), providing easy access to other parts of the city, including The Wilbur Theatre, making it a perfect spot for those attending shows. The neighborhood itself is described as "cute" and quiet, allowing for a restful experience, particularly for those seeking a dark and peaceful room for a good night's sleep, as noted by a past guest.

Services: Comfort, Convenience, and Connectivity

The Revolution Hotel focuses on delivering a comfortable and efficient stay with a range of thoughtful services. The front desk operates 24 hours a day, ensuring guests are assisted at any time. The hotel offers complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi throughout the property, allowing guests to stay connected on multiple devices. Rooms, though sometimes compact, are designed with a minimalist, industrial-chic aesthetic and include amenities such as flat-screen TVs, safes, and air conditioning for a pleasant stay. Premium bedding, including pillowtop beds and down comforters, aims to ensure a restful night's sleep.

A unique aspect of The Revolution Hotel is its accommodation options, including rooms with both in-room private bathrooms and "bath down the hall" shared bathrooms. For guests utilizing the shared bathrooms, the hotel goes above and beyond to ensure cleanliness and convenience. Reviewers consistently praise the immaculate condition of these shared facilities, noting they are frequently cleaned and well-stocked with toiletries. Guests are provided with thoughtful amenities like tote bags containing towels, toiletries, robes, and slippers, making the shared bathroom experience seamless and comfortable. This "upscale hostel experience" is highly recommended for its cleanliness and practicality. Other services include daily housekeeping, luggage storage, and a virtual concierge service available by text for inquiries about local attractions or hotel needs.

For guests prioritizing health and wellness, The Revolution Hotel features a 24-hour fitness center equipped with modern cardio machines (including Peloton bikes) and weightlifting equipment. This ensures guests can maintain their workout routines at their convenience. Additionally, the hotel offers complimentary bike rentals (Public Bikes), a fantastic way to explore the city at leisure. While there is a coffee shop/cafe on-site, named Kohi Coffee Co., offering grab-and-go coffee and pastries, some guests have noted that its opening hours (often starting at 8 am) might be a bit late for early risers.

Features: Modern Amenities with Revolutionary Spirit

The Revolution Hotel distinguishes itself with several unique features that enhance the guest experience. The hotel's public spaces are designed to be inviting and communal, including a bright lobby lounge adorned with trendy murals and a fireplace, providing a cozy ambiance for relaxation or socializing. The hotel also boasts an on-site restaurant and bar, Cosmica, which offers California-Mexican cuisine and crafted cocktails. This vibrant space serves dinner and contributes to the hotel's lively atmosphere.

A key feature is the hotel's commitment to being pet-friendly. The Revolution Hotel welcomes two pets of any size per room for a one-time fee of $25 per stay, with no per-night charge. Both dogs and cats are welcome, and the hotel provides pet amenities such as food and water bowls upon request, along with a waiver to ensure good behavior. This makes it an ideal choice for travelers who wish to bring their furry companions along. The property is entirely smoke-free, including vaping, ensuring a fresh environment for all guests. For those traveling with children, kids aged 0 to 17 can stay free of charge. The hotel also offers family rooms and acknowledges that while cribs and roll-away beds are not available due to room size, their quad rooms with integrated bunk beds are suitable for families or groups of friends.

The hotel's design incorporates innovative elements such as an "Innovation Tower," a sculptural collage of Boston inventions, and a bar top made from a 130-year-old slab of Boston's "Big Old Elm" etched with a timeline of Boston innovations, further celebrating the city's heritage. There's also a co-working space called "Conspire," designed to be flexible for work or games, and a rooftop terrace offering city views.

Customer service was on point! Although the bathroom wasn't in the room, they were across the hallway and very clean. No onsite parking, but several parking garages within a block or 2. Highly recommend!

Good location and great atmosphere. Rooms and bathrooms were clean and stocked. Drinking water was available with ice. The art throughout the facility was beautiful. Would stay again

Check the fine print, the bathroom is down the hall. The room is the size of a postage stamp with a king size bed and a twin loft over it. There is hardly any storage room but it is very modern. The bathrooms are super nice and water and ice is very accessible. The location cannot be beat. Esthetic is very nice.

The Revolution Hotel is a 3-star hotel located in the city of Boston, very close to the city center, a few blocks from the Public Garden. It offers first-class facilities, with small rooms, but really very comfortable and with everything you need. The attention to detail is really incredible, the service is very good and the human warmth makes one want to return. It really is a hotel I would return to if I had to visit Boston again.
