Stayed in 2022. Great, cozy/retro, dog friendly hotel right down the road from Stowe Mountain Resort. Has a very interesting vibe, like a retro ski resort from the 60s or 70s but overall very warm and cozy with lots of character. You really feel like you are escaping from typical civilization with this resort. The breakfast made to order is excellent and the rooms are spacious with good beds, smart TVs and WiFi. Parking is close to hotel and there are plenty of spaces with ample lighting at night. They do a good job keeping snow shoveled/plowed and everything accessible. Very friendly towards us bringing our small dog along. They also have a heated indoor pool for winter swimming.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Stowehof! Our room, as well as the hotel lounge and dining area had incredible views of the mountains. It felt like we were in a 60s ski chalet. Our room was very roomy and had a nice balcony, which we enjoyed going out on in the mornings. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Our only complaint is that it is a little old and just needs a bit more maintenance / renovation. But really, you can't beat the stunning views here.

We go to Stowe often and this was our first time here. When we first arrived we were a little concerned because some of the building elements are in need of minor cosmetic repair, and the hallways are narrow and a little "dated". HOWEVER, our room was spotless and nice, bed and pillows extremely comfortable. The grounds are well manicured, clean, and interesting. The pool area seems to be where many of the guests seem to congregate, and has great views of the mountains and the beautiful grounds. We stayed on a nice weekend in June and many guests seemed content to relax in the grounds during the day. The guests we met were friendly and relaxed. We had drinks and dinner poolside and stayed for the fire pit starting at dusk. It is a peacefully quiet, unique inn far enough off the Mountain Road, but central enough to have access to anything you want to do. The staff are friendly and accommodating. My wife and I were there ourselves but we definitely look forward to being back with other friends and family. I would say this is a hidden gem in Stowe!

We stayed 2 nights on a anniversary trip. Rustic dated lodge but cozy. Views were beautiful! Staff were friendly and attentive. We enjoyed the heated pool and hot tub. We ate breakfast one am, not included in room price, pricey, but good. Room was big, bed not so comfy. Enjoyed our stay!

Please please don’t let some developer come in and “demolish” this landmark. Thousands of families have many memories made here and developers need to work with what they’ve got. Yes, it’s older but so are the best in Stowe and they’re thriving. Just my sentimental venting.
