This is a great place to live. I’ve made it my little sanctuary. The people that work here are very helpful, when I need repairs. ❤️✌️
Looking for a hotel with character and a unique atmosphere in the heart of Times Square? The Times Square Hotel, located at 255 W 43rd St, is part of the 'Hotels Near Of Me' category. Recent guest reviews offer a glimpse into a hotel with a distinct charm and helpful staff, though potentially in need of some updates for travelers from Taiwan.
One guest expressed a strong positive sentiment, stating, "This is a great place to live. I’ve made it my little sanctuary. The people that work here are very helpful, when I need repairs. ❤️✌️" This suggests a sense of community and a level of service where staff are responsive to the needs of longer-term residents or guests requiring assistance with maintenance.
Another reviewer focused on the hotel's ambiance, describing the experience of walking into the lobby as being transported to an "old school hotel from the early 1930s," noting the presence of a piano and "Golden gilded age" decor. They observed that the security/concierge appears "overworked" due to the demands of the elevator system. However, this guest found the hotel to have "one of the most interesting and diverse group of rooms and architectural design that I've seen." They also speculated that with donations towards minor upgrades, the building has the potential to become an "internationally known building."
Based on these reviews, The Times Square Hotel seems to offer a unique, potentially historic atmosphere with a helpful staff. The architecture and room designs are noted as interesting and diverse. However, there may be aspects of the hotel, such as the elevator system and potentially the overall condition, that could benefit from upgrades. The security/concierge may also be under significant workload.
The provided reviews do not offer specific details about other hotel services and features, such as on-site dining, fitness facilities, or business centers. There is also no information about specific promotional offers available at the time of these stays.
In conclusion, The Times Square Hotel appears to be a place with a unique, old-world charm and a helpful staff, appreciated by at least one guest as a long-term residence. The interesting architecture and room designs are also notable. However, potential guests from Taiwan should be aware that the hotel may have some operational challenges, such as with the elevator system and potentially the workload of the concierge. Further research into recent reviews and hotel amenities on booking platforms is recommended to gain a more comprehensive understanding of the current guest experience.

Feb 23, 2025 · Ruben HiebAs you walk into the lobby and you see the piano and the Golden gilded age it's almost as though you're in an old school hotel from the early 1930s. The security / concierge is overworked because of the additional requirement of the elevator system but the size that it is generally one of the most interesting and diverse group of rooms and architectural design that I've seen. If the heavy in their purse and their net worth and connections could donate a lot to the building in the portfolio I believe minor upgrades would make it a internationally what known building.
Nov 09, 2022 · Professor Mikey PI could give a long venting rant about - the dirty ashes in the sink at check in, - rusty tub - mildew smelling closet (don’t use it!) - having 1 single towel at checkin and no shampoo - rude front desk that doesn’t pick up -ever - despite having zero line at the desk - eventually you’ll have to go down yourself so you’ll see that (but a reservations line that is always available to take your money 😃), But I’ll just leave it at this: it’s a dirty hole. I wish I’d listened to my local friend’s warning about this spot. I’ve had better stays at motel 6. The only nice thing I could sat about this hotel is the housekeeping staff were all kind, friendly people, and the location is convenient. But if you’re looking for basics like shampoo, towels, a closet and a front desk that is reachable, stay literally anywhere else.
Feb 06, 2022 · winterfox xThe building is a former hotel which has been converted into a residence. The rooftop is very magical. Most of the amenities are on the basement level.
Jul 27, 2023 · Jullian PhippsRats and roaches. Unmasked tenants lobby and elevators. Arguments and screaming occurs often. Security hides in enclosure. Violence too. People have been murdered in lobby. Flooding in lobby from bad pipes bursting from above floors. One maintenance guy overwhelmed. No1 allowed 2help. Mops locked in closets because residents are thieves or worse
