While the vast majority of reviews are highly positive, highlighting the "super friendly" owners, the "great place and good location," and the "very reasonable" prices, some minor points have been noted by past guests. These include occasional comments about the rooms being "dated" or needing "a bit of sprucing up," such as minor peeling paint in bathrooms. Some guests also mentioned that the AC units could be noisy or that TV reception wasn't always the best. Additionally, a few reviews noted that the beds were either "very hard" or "extremely soft and mushy," suggesting that mattress comfort might be subjective and vary. However, these points are often overshadowed by the overwhelming positive feedback regarding the welcoming atmosphere, the beautiful riverfront setting with its fire pit and picnic areas, and the overall value for money. Many guests express a desire to return, having stayed for numerous years, which speaks volumes about the consistent positive experience offered by Kathy and Blaine, the owners.

Feb 24, 2025 · George CannonWe have been staying here for 16 years. Great place and good location. Half way between Bryson City and Cherokee. Kathy and Blaine are great host. Fire pit, picnic tables and grills by the river.
Nov 03, 2024 · Teresa BrooksThis is the perfect place to stay! The bed was very comfortable. The view is lovely. It's right off the river. Super close to everything. The staff were very welcoming and pleasant. I really loved the lobby. It looks like a mini greenhouse. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Perfect prices as well. I don't have anything negative to report. It does not have a kitchen area and it's small. But it's still perfect for two people. If you like to travel light and don't need all the fancy stuff at the overpriced places, this one is perfect.
