I was a part of a very large group the valet service was excellent with the in and out service . The clerk at the front desk with the braids gave us exceptional service they need more like her. The room was very clean, beds were comfortable only 4 stars because the toilet stopped up but was taken care of right away. The breakfast in the restaurant waffles , chicken sausage , French toast, potato wedges , eggs all very good grits was just ok. The waitress took good care of us . There are restaurants and stores in walking distance . I would definitely recommend this location.

Jun 03, 2025 · Brooklyn 1The rooms were nice- except an oddly placed metal stopper near the fridge and closet. I hit my foot in it several times. It served no purpose other than torture. Location - AWESOME! Connected to convection center or a brief walk outside. Plenty of food options. Service - booked over the phone and made the representative aware payment would be a business check. Upon arrival, the front desk clerk stated she couldn’t accept the check because it was written as “Marriott” and not “Winston-Salem Marriott”. Mind you the address is also on the check and even the deposit if they will put their account number. I even asked if I could write it (it’s not a duplicate) to which she said no. 🤔 it was inconvenient to place on credit card then wait for them to reverse the charges or be reimbursed. NONE of the ice machines worked. Each time we needed ice we had to find someone to get it from the restaurant. And no coffee available in public areas. Yes there’s a coffee maker in the room, but typically hotels have coffee makers in public spaces as well.
Mar 25, 2025 · J'Marie jonesBED BUGS!!!! If I could leave less stars I WOULD. It’s not the fact this hotel had bed bugs, I grew up in Chicago these things happen I get it! It’s the way the staff handled it. Walking up at 5 am itching and scratching was a terror with in its self then when I called the front desk to have them handle it I was told “well we can just change your rooms” after explaining that bedbugs are an infestation, and would transfer with me to the next room and then my home! I was told by the manager, “well that’s the best we can do its probably just mosquito bites but we’ll get a engineer up there” Once an “ engineer” AKA Maintenance knocked on my door. He barged in and started an imp prompt to turn down service. With his cell phone, flashlight. He asked if I had seen any bugs and I told him I had not, but they’re very difficult to see and run away from the light and then proceeded to show him my chewed up arm. In which he responded.“ oh, those are just mosquitos.” After being gaslit for a second time that I had just mosquito bites, I started to become upset and explain to the gentleman that I have been in a showroom and then the hotel the entire time for furniture, retail market! I then explained that all my clothes needed to be laundered and then I needed to change rooms automatically. He informed me that they were not gonna do that for just mosquitoes, but I could transfer rooms if I would like, taking the bed bugs with me. I told him to please confirm, but that I had to go to work and to go ahead and give me a call once they had confirmation that I definitely had bedbugs! This was at 7:30 in the morning! About 10:30 AM the Manager called me and still refuse to say the words bedbug but instead said “we have confirmation, will have your stuff steamed and transferred to a different room.” I asked him to please launder my clothing as some of it needed to be dry cleaned or it would be ruined. This did not happen. They in fact, took all of my clothing, including my dirty clothes and threw them in an industrial size dryer, shrinking and destroying multiple things! Marriott, please come up with a better protocol for bed bug other than gaslighting your guests (mosquito bites, give me a break!) and destroying their things! Oh, but they did give me $75 to their in-house restaurant, along with M club lounge access which seems to be their go to when they make mistake! All while still telling me, after an Orkin mans conformation that the room was infested, that my bites could still have been mosquito bites!
Apr 26, 2025 · stacey taylorThe hotel was very clean. The location is great! There is a parking deck across the street. It lacked in service because it took us roughly 2.5 hours to have dinner. We didn’t have to wait for a table, but service was veryyyy slow. The food at the restaurant was great! Overall, it was nice, the M Club was nice. However, the Cardinal has the Marriott beat. We tried the Marriott this time due to my husband’s platinum elite status, but I think we will stick with the Cardinal. The other downside was that there was a dance convention and we heard the people above us stomping around the room from 10pm-1am (we’re assuming they were practicing their routines). Not sure if I would stay again.
Mar 25, 2025 · Hannah WilsonGreat location near the convention center, but the facility itself is a little dated and very disappointing that there is no free coffee in the lobby or even a coffee shop to buy some good coffee. Some towels racks in the bathroom would be nice too. But room is fine and quiet with other expected amenities and great pillows and bed.
