I reserved a room on their website. Upon arrival I had to present I'd and credit card which I already supplied online plus provide phone # and basic info which was already provided. The man at the front desk did nothing but mumble so bad I couldn't understand a word he said if I didn't know any better I would say he was stoned! Not a welcome at all . The website states: handicap/ disability friendly, but it was not! They have wheel chair ramps in certain areas but steps throughout the interior. I am disabled i have to walk with a cane. I requested a ground floor room but he gave me a 2nd floor room anyway. I was told I had to park outback and I struggled to carry my bas up a flight of stairs. I was not offered any assistance. The room was decent and bed okay. However there were no water bottles in the guest room, which is a standard amenity in this profession. I was charged $191.00 for 1 person for 2 nights. I feel this was excessive. They also charged me an additional 25.00 hold fee on my credit card which was un necessary. In short I was very disappointed in the service and that they stated handicap friendly. It is not! I would not return, nor would I recommend my family or friends.

Guest experiences, as with any hotel, can vary. One reviewer shared a challenging arrival experience, noting difficulties with check-in procedures, perceived lack of welcome, and issues with accessibility despite the hotel's stated handicap-friendly features. This guest mentioned "steps throughout the interior" despite some "wheel chair ramps in certain areas," and a struggle to access their second-floor room with luggage, stating "I was not offered any assistance." They also pointed out the absence of "water bottles in the guest room," which they considered a standard amenity, and found the charges to be excessive for a two-night stay, leading to a strong recommendation against returning.
Conversely, another business traveler had a highly positive experience, particularly highlighting the exceptional staff: "This was a one night stay for business, however, the highlight was the staff and how helpful they were and thorough they were with assisting me in returning my lost bag. They sent pictures of the fedex receipt and made sure my property was taken care of. 10/10 would stay again." This contrasting feedback underscores the importance of individual interactions and the potential for a very positive experience, particularly when staff go above and beyond in problem-solving.

Jun 06, 2025 · ChristopherI love it here. Honestly, if they had a monthly option, I would look into it, I want to live here I love it so much. A vintage crown jewel of Winston-Salem, but don’t let the historic facade fool you - the rooms are extremely nice, updated, and clean. Every room I’ve stayed in here is great. And the elevator to your floor - I’ve never seen a faster elevator ever! Super quick. The service is always great. All staff is extremely friendly and make sure things get taken care of quickly. The only thing I’ll mention is, there isn’t a free option for breakfast so just be aware(but the food IS really good I thought), and the keys can become demagnetized easily making it difficult to get into the room but this is minor compared to the entire experience. They also have a pool(when in season), a fitness center, and guest laundry onsite. There’s also a masseuse??!? I’ll have to look into that. The location is second to none. Right in the heart of downtown Winston and within walking distance of almost anything you’re wanting in the area. And since it has conference space, I’m thinking of asking conventions to set up here since it’s so nice! I would love that. I really can’t wait to come back.
Mar 11, 2025 · Adam NelsonWe enjoyed our stay at this hotel it was only a few minutes away from our destination. Lots of places to explore that didn't take long to get to. The hotel has a pool but it was never open while we were there, the restaurant located inside only served breakfast. I have never seen a hotel that has a wheel chair lift that was cool and Our first night there we ate at señor Bravo a Mexican restaurant which is located across the street. We didn't like it there. it's not authentic Mexican food and the waiter took forever to take our order and to bring our check
May 27, 2025 · Nora ChristopherI had such a bad experience with a Quality Inn and came to this hotel absolutely exhausted from a long day of staying at the hospital with my mother. The front desk attendant, Fred, could see that I was visibly upset and said "honey, why are you here". I told him I had been at the hospital and had just had a terrible unsafe experience at the Quality Inn. He comforted me, gave me a discounted room, and was a total breath of fresh air. I could not praise their service more. My room was nice. It had an amazing view of the city. Total 5 star experience!
