Beware! This place is dirty and disgusting. It looks nothing like the rooms they advertise. If I could give negative stars, I would. Not only is the condition of the room horrible, the facility is very shady in business practices. We would have stayed somewhere else but rooms were all booked because of 2 events in the area. There were burn holes in the bedding, sink was dirty, chair was filthy, curtain was duct-taped to wall, vomit in trash can, shower filthy with left over soap packets from previous occupant, no lights except for an LED strip by the window and in bathroom, microwave was splattered inside with old food, no place to hang clothes. This is by far the worst motel experience I have ever had!!
When searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" in Alcoa, Tennessee, Budget Inn Alcoa may appear as a low-cost option. Located at 2972 Airport Hwy, Alcoa, TN 37701, USA, this establishment aims to provide very basic, affordable lodging for travelers. Its proximity to the McGhee Tyson Airport (TYS), approximately 1.4 miles away, is a key aspect of its location, making it potentially convenient for those with early flights or late arrivals. The hotel is also situated within reasonable driving distance of larger urban centers like Knoxville and attractions such as the University of Tennessee, though guests should factor in travel time to these areas.
The environment surrounding Budget Inn Alcoa is primarily that of a highway-side motel, which can mean varying levels of ambient noise due to traffic and proximity to the airport. The property itself is a single building with multiple rooms, typically spread across two or three floors. While some online information mentions an outdoor pool, recent reviews do not frequently highlight its use or condition, suggesting it might be a seasonal or less emphasized amenity. The general atmosphere, as reflected in a significant portion of guest feedback, suggests a need for improvement in terms of overall upkeep and cleanliness of the facility and its grounds. The immediate vicinity does offer some dining options within walking distance or a short drive, including chain restaurants like Waffle House and Shoney's, which can be convenient for guests looking for quick meals.
Regarding services, Budget Inn Alcoa offers fundamental motel amenities. A 24-hour front desk is typically available, although some guests have reported instances where staff were not immediately present upon arrival. Free self-parking is provided on-site, which is a practical convenience for travelers with vehicles. Complimentary wireless internet access is available in guest rooms and public areas, allowing guests to stay connected. The hotel also mentions daily housekeeping services; however, numerous guest reviews indicate significant inconsistencies in the cleanliness and maintenance of rooms upon check-in. Payments can be made via credit cards, debit cards, and cash, with cashless transactions also available. It's important to note that a 5% surcharge may apply for credit card payments. A refundable damage deposit of $50 is typically required upon arrival, collected by credit card, and is intended to be reimbursed within 7 days of check-out, subject to property inspection. The property also adheres to some basic safety measures, including smoke detectors and fire extinguishers in common areas. However, guest experiences with staff responsiveness to issues like broken amenities or cleanliness concerns have been mixed, with some reports of unhelpful or absent staff. While a free breakfast is mentioned in some older descriptions, more recent reviews indicate that this is not a significant offering, or may be very minimal.
The features of the rooms at Budget Inn Alcoa are basic, designed for a utilitarian stay. The 35 rooms are air-conditioned and typically include a private bathroom with a shower/tub combination. Standard amenities often found in these rooms include a flat-screen television with cable channels, a microwave, and a refrigerator. Some rooms may also feature a desk and a fan. However, a significant number of guest reviews provide critical feedback on the actual condition of these features. Recurring issues mentioned include:
Furthermore, multiple reviews explicitly mention issues with pests, particularly cockroaches and water bugs, indicating a potential ongoing problem with pest control. It is also noted that the hotel does not have elevators, which could be a consideration for guests with mobility issues or heavy luggage. The hotel's policy states that pets are not allowed, which is contrary to some other budget properties and should be noted by travelers with animals.
As for promotional information, Budget Inn Alcoa primarily competes on price. Its name, "Budget Inn," clearly signals its target market: travelers seeking the lowest possible accommodation rates. While direct promotional offers are not readily available from the provided information, the low cost itself is the primary draw. However, given the overwhelming negative feedback from recent guests, it is crucial for potential visitors to manage their expectations regarding the quality and condition of the rooms and services. The reviews strongly suggest that the very affordable rates come with significant compromises in terms of cleanliness, maintenance, and overall guest experience. Some guests have expressed that even at a low price, the condition of the rooms was unacceptable.
In conclusion, Budget Inn Alcoa, located at 2972 Airport Hwy, Alcoa, TN 37701, USA, is positioned as a highly budget-friendly option within the "Hotels Near Of Me" category. Its primary advantage is its proximity to the airport and its very low room rates. However, an objective review, heavily influenced by extensive customer feedback, reveals significant and consistent concerns regarding the cleanliness, maintenance, and overall condition of the rooms and facilities. Guests have reported issues ranging from unsanitary conditions and broken amenities to pest infestations and unsatisfactory customer service. While it may cater to individuals in dire need of a very inexpensive place to stay due to other hotels being fully booked, potential guests are strongly advised to consider the detailed negative reviews and set extremely low expectations for their stay. For those prioritizing cleanliness, comfort, and reliable service, exploring alternative accommodation options in Alcoa, even at a slightly higher price point, would be highly recommended. For inquiries, the hotel can be reached at (865) 251-2525 or +1 865-251-2525.

Feb 16, 2025 · Connie BurkeI will NEVER stay here again. The room literally had a corner of a condom wrapper in the sheets, an already open and used soap bar in the shower, a nasty tabletop, and it’s like staying in a dungeon ! After looking past all that, I went to check out in the morning and walked in to an older, fuller lady staring me down. I said goodmorning and got more stares. I put the card on the counter and she shrugged her shoulders and gave me a crazy look like she had no idea why I was there so I said “checking out” and she did her attitude filled shrug and nasty look and said ok…what room. I said 121. And honestly it was ridiculous for her to be that way because at half decent hotels they already know what room so I didn’t know I had to tell her. She was so rude and lost good business.
Dec 24, 2024 · brianna harrisonThis place needs to be condemned. For one I wish I had known how close it was to the airport and how often I would hear planes all through the night. Next the room is full of black mold all around the room on the walls and in all the corners and crevices. I told the man I was pregnant when I checked in and this is what he gave me. There is no coffee pot, the microwave doesn't open and doesn't look like it works anyways, the TV has a giant weird permanent water looking stain on the screen so it's unwatchable, and the fridge barely works. There are lots of gnats and flights also in here and there's only 1 dim, very sad looking lamp in the corner for the entire room besides the bathroom and sink lights. Everything else was filthy and the beds are horrendously uncomfortable with no padding. One of the beds doesnt even have a proper fitted sheet on it and the bare mattress is poking out the top. My standards aren't too high these days but wow this place is the worst. I'll be amazed if I survive my stay here that was way overpriced for this dump.
Sep 15, 2024 · Nicole MongerTwo nights in I had an altercation with the maid. She claimed that she smelled smoke coming out my room. I was standing in the doorway to block her from entering with a cigarette in my hand. We requested her supervisor come sniff the room, as well as management on staff none would. The following day it was some form of narcotics. I requested again for them to come sniff the air and they refused and apologized for the maid. Thought it was over till check out they charged me claiming room smelled of smoke. No it didn't. I had maintenance walk through the night before. I bought my own sheets and bed ware and placed it on top of their made beds, I swept, I dusted, I had to bleach the bathroom before use, I bought air freshener with me it's carpet fresh arm and hammer I used in the entire week stay because it smelled like burning chemicals constantly and the place was gross. After incident I was told maid could speak English and witnessed her talking English to everyone else. This is a scam to keep more money. Especially if you booked online. Speaking to the residents, this is a common occurrence and is not nothing new. The maid will enter rooms with out permission or warning, don't go
