This is a cozy hotel in walking distance to the French Market and Bourbon Street. The rooms are classy. The beds are comfy. The pool is clean and refreshing. The staff is attentive and will help you book any of the local tours - just ask. There is only one working at the front desk, which could cause a slowdown during peak check-in times. Otherwise, it's a fantastic place to stay in NOLA.

The staff was great and the location is ideal- those are some good things to note about our stay. I will say I was disappointed that our balcony room didn't face the street, but instead the interior portion of the hotel & pool. We didn't even have a table or chairs to enjoy the balcony. The room is very bright, even at 12am with the shades down (photo attached) because of the lights outside on the balcony which made it hard to sleep. The room was pretty and we enjoyed the artwork on the wall & old school charm....but there were dirty footprints just left on the wall from a previous guest.

The Chateau Hotel is in a great location in the French Quarter. We were able to walk to all of the things we wanted to do over the weekend stay. The room was clean and comfortable and the front desk attendants were friendly and helpful.

My new wife and I stayed here on our first night after our wedding. From the outside it looks small and plain but the courtyard is beautiful. The room was clean and felt old and modern at the same time. Staff was amazing! I asked for an earlier check in to get ready for my wedding and they accommodate me and even called to let me know my room was ready earlier than I requested. The desk clerk even ran me down when she saw me mistakenly walk by. She was friendly and exceptional ! 10/10.

TLDR: Tiny room, few amenities, left the pool open after I found a poop in it. Let me start by saying this review probably would have been a 3/4 because there was aspect of the stay that I really enjoyed, but a couple completely unacceptable things pushes the rating way down into an "I wouldn't come back". The good: The room itself was a fine place to rest our heads after a night out. I liked the pretty courtyard and the pool area quite a bit. The staff we encountered was largely very friendly. The so-so: Housekeeping definitely missed a few spots when cleaning the room, and there were a lot of scratches in the wall. There was some unpleasant looking glue on the shower floor that was an eyesore. The pillows were really uncomfortable and offered no support at all. No mini fridge at all (seriously?). The roomkeys are a bit annoying as they are some sort of old fashioned bulky chip you have to carry around, mush easier to lose than a key card (and they will charge you $55 if you do lose it). The bad: Two things really negatively impacted our stay, and both are - in my eyes - completely unacceptable for any hotel at all. The first: The double doors have large glass windows in them and thin curtains. All night, every night, the light from the courtyard streamed in to our room, lighting up the entire room like it was dusk. As someone who generally sleeps in the pitch black, this heavily impacted my sleep. When I asked the front desk what we could do about this, they expressed that people complain about this issue all the time and told me management refuses to do anything about it. If true, that is absurd. Blackout curtains are available almost anywhere for minimal cost. I have literally never stayed in a hotel or motel where the room was lit up against my will all night. We were told no other rooms were available for our stay, and they offered us a blanket to stuff into the door, which didn't work at all. The second issue: Towards the end of our stay, we went to the pool. Another woman was there ahead of us, with her dog. She allowed her dog to swim in the pool (gross), and then got out. We got in, and after a minute of swimming, we realized there was a dog turd in the pool. An actual turd. Now none of this was the hotel's fault, but the way they responded absolutely was. I went right to the front desk to inform them of the issue, and the person working said she would contact that manager right away. I went back to my room to shower. Shortly, I came back out, expecting to see the pool shut down and hoping that deep cleaning would be well underway. Nope. What I saw was people still swimming in the pool, apparently unaware. I didn't see the turd anymore, so I think they just fished it out and called it a day. That is absolutely disgusting, a health code violation, and completely uncool. The pool absolutely should have been properly cleaned and shuttered during the process. I literally cannot fathom that they continued to operate as though nothing was wrong. That alone makes this review a max rating of one star. If the systemic issues of poor communication and utter apathy to basic sanitation are unaddressed, there's no chance I'd ever stay here again.
