I was a little worried about the reviews but this is a nice hotel. The neighborhood seems reasonably safe. The staff was friendly. The morning breakfast buffet does have food but if you don't get a voucher from the front desk it is $20 for eggs, sausage and some cereal/drinks. Even though the breakfast buffet is self-serve, you still get a check and it requests a tip and all they do is pour drinks. I do not believe in tipping when the customer does a majority of the work. The restaurant on the first floor was nice, especially on the first day you arrive. Probably the best time to have a good dinner there. The room I have no complaints. The only negative I would say was there was only two working elevators + there were a lot of people there. This is an exaggeration but I swear every high school in Maryland was there.

May 18, 2025 · Dan GreeneWe booked a room, it was labeled as a “Standard Room” that specifically said it included 2 queen beds. When we got to our room, we only found 1 king bed. When we tried to change our room, the manager said that we couldn’t change it, because apparently the label “Standard Room” is vague and includes rooms with 2 queens and 1 king. Even after explaining that the booking option specifically described 2 queen beds and that we had to pay a higher price, the manager still did not offer any sympathy. I’d also like to add that he was kind of unfriendly and rude from the moment we started talking to him. Disappointed.
Jun 09, 2025 · Jessie MaybeWe were in town for the National History Day competition in June 2025, and decided to stay here as it was listed as one of the recommended hotels by the association. It turned out to be a huge mistake: the hotel staff was swamped by the number of people for the competition, one of the elevators malfunctioned and even after repair, showed increasingly worrisome performance such as the jerkiness of the movement. The room smelled of chemicals, which took a few days to wear out, and the phone in our room did not work. The room lacked a TV remote, which took 24 hours to get a replacement, and we witnessed dozens of customers complaining at the front desk that the A/C was out. I also saw one of the staff using white bath towels to mop the floor at the food stand, and most of all, my credit card that I presented to pay for the 'hold' amount was used to charge every day for the room DESPITE having paid the stay previously via Expedia, hence being DOUBLE charged. Some of the staff were genuinely good people, but the mismanagement is beyond shocking that I am thinking of raising these issues to the IHG corporate. I travel a lot domestically and internationally, and this is the by far the worst hotel in the WORLD. It is very unfortunate, as it is on a prime location close to Univ. of MD College Park, and the facility from outside looks good. The experience I had at this premise would have the title of either 'Hotel from Hell' or 'Den of Thieves', as I notice that there was another case of fraudulent use of a credit card from the customer here on Google review without the person's consent. Recommend that you STAY AWAY from this location.

I heard another customer complaining about the same thing which made me believe it may be an issue in a couple of rooms. They have a restaurant and bar that is somewhat pricey as well. I also have a problem with the fact that if you order food you have to pick it up in the lobby and can’t deliver to your door. Very busy lobby area especially on weekends but the hotel itself is nice.
May 24, 2025 · Shemaiah RobertsLoved the hotel, the only reason why I gave it a 3 stars was simply because there's no ice machine's on the floors you have to go all the way down to the lobby to get ice and the elevators take FOREVER lord forbid your on the 11th floor like I was 😒. And there's NO microwave in the rooms but they do have refrigerators which i thought was odd not to have a microwave 🤔 but the customer service WONDERFUL, the food GOOD, the bar GOOD DRINKS! And they have happy hour. Rooms were very clean.
