One star, only because of the front desk staff. I booked this Wyndham Motel 8 for a one-night stay. Normally, I would’ve chosen a better place, but for the price, availability, and the fact that I just needed a bed and some basic amenities like “breakfast” (which turned out to barely be a breakfast at all), I figured it would do for one night. The only positive part of my experience was the front desk staff—they were genuinely kind, helpful, and super sweet. Unfortunately, everything else about this stay was awful. When I opened the door to my first room, I was immediately hit with the strong stench of smoke—it was unbearable. I went back to the front desk and explained the issue. They switched my room instantly, no problem. But the second room? Still smelled like smoke, just slightly less intense. I had been traveling all day and was too exhausted to go back down and switch rooms again. I figured I could tough it out for one night. Big mistake. Within a couple of hours, I was nauseous and fighting the urge to throw up. The smoke smell seemed embedded in everything—the carpet, mattress, pillows, and walls. I barely got any sleep. The room was also incredibly outdated, the furniture was worn, walls were dirty, and the TV barely worked—every channel was staticky. I didn’t complain again out of courtesy for the front desk, and honestly, I was afraid every room might be the same. I also would’ve left and gone to another hotel, but their cancellation policy is terrible—they don’t allow cancellations, and you won’t get your money back. This was one of the worst hotel stays I’ve ever had. I genuinely wish I could rate this place 0 out of 10. I do not recommend staying here unless you’re truly out of options—and even then, think twice.

May 30, 2025 · Indi HacheTotal dump... Two other guests complained of cigarette smoke in the rooms. The worker handed the guest a can of spray as a solution. I asked to have my reservation cancelled and was denied. I was then warned that they were going to call the police on me. I slept in my car and still haven't received a refund. It's a dump.
Jun 18, 2025 · CARL NICOSIAThe first thing you notice when you walk in, is the smell (that’s just the lobby - we haven’t even gotten to the room yet). When I got to my room, this nasty stale smell hit me as soon as I opened the door. Everything is outdated except for the t.v. Carpets are disgusting and look like they’ve never seen a carpet cleaner. Oh, and I had to take a shower with my slides on. It looked clean at first glance but after a closer look, you could tell it was not thoroughly cleaned. I know this place is old, but come on! This place should be no more than $40 a night!
May 14, 2025 · Veronica CousinI would give this hotel a ZERO star rating. The service is horrible. I checked in on a Saturday and I noticed that the toilet in the room was clogged. The receptionist was rude, did not want to be bothered, and said there no one to fix the problem. I asked for transfer to another room with a working toilet, she said I had to wait until Monday to speak with the manager. I couldn’t believe that nonsense! I asked her whether there were any tools that I could borrow to try to get the toilet to flush properly, and in the end, I used a snake to unclog the toilet. The next morning,, @7AM, I noticed that nobody was at the reception desk. There was a sign “back in 5 minutes”; but 40 minutes later, there were still no one at the reception desk. Never will I recommend Super 8 to anyone, especially this piece of garbage in College Park. You are getting nothing but the lowest quality room and service in the hotel industry. Avoid Super 8 like the plague!
Apr 15, 2025 · Frank TsaoTerrible rooms. Terrible breakfast. There was a roach in the fridge, and the breakfast was literally coffee, juice, and bagel & blueberry muffin which were STALE. The walls were dirty as well. Everything was just nasty.
