I stayed at this hotel a couple weeks ago and emailed the manager about my experience and never got a response. I was very disappointed with my stay, and would honestly say, this is one of the worst Hilton hotels I have ever stayed at. Firstly, credit where credit is due. The hotel's breakfast service was amazing. It had a great variety and was very appetizing. The staff was also very kind and helpful. Now the issues. 1. When I went to close the windows, the curtains were extremely torn, resembling a haunted house. See photo. 2. The black grime on the shower floor from months of customer use was left half cleaned. The shower gave me sense that the rest of the room was only haphazardly cleaned as well. I reached out to the front desk two times about sending someone over to clean it and both times no one came. 3. There was blood on the duvet. I asked to have it changed and was told it would be. Again, it was also never changed. 4. There was a wake up call automatically set for my room at 4:48AM every morning. Even after I called the front to have it cancelled, the alarm was repeated the remaining days of my stay. 5. The overall furniture in the room was torn, worn, and in terrible condition. I was shocked that management would allow the room to get this far. Overall, I was very disappointed in the level of quality Hilton has dropped to. The additional amenities, breakfast and airport shuttle service, felt like attempted cover-ups for a hotel that was falling apart.
For local users in the Philadelphia area seeking "Hotels Near Of Me," the Embassy Suites by Hilton Philadelphia Airport stands as a prominent option, particularly for those with early flights, late arrivals, or simply requiring convenient access to the Philadelphia International Airport (PHL). Located at 9000 Bartram Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19153, USA, the hotel can be reached by phone at (215) 365-4500 or +1 215-365-4500. As an all-suite hotel, it aims to provide more space and amenities than a traditional hotel room.
The Embassy Suites by Hilton Philadelphia Airport is strategically located just minutes from Philadelphia International Airport, making it highly convenient for air travelers. Its proximity to major roadways provides relatively easy access to downtown Philadelphia's attractions, including historic sites, museums, and sports venues, though it is not within walking distance of these downtown areas. The hotel's immediate surroundings primarily consist of other airport hotels and commercial establishments catering to travelers. While the specific environment directly around the hotel is functional for its purpose as an airport hotel, it is not characterized by scenic views or bustling city life. The focus is on providing a comfortable stopover or base for those utilizing the airport. The overall aesthetic of the building is typical of an Embassy Suites, featuring a large atrium lobby that often includes lush greenery and water features, aiming to create an open and welcoming atmosphere.
Embassy Suites by Hilton Philadelphia Airport offers a range of services designed to enhance the guest experience. A key highlight, consistently praised by guests, is the complimentary cooked-to-order breakfast. This service provides a substantial and varied start to the day, often including omelets, pastries, cereals, and fresh fruit. Another significant service is the complimentary Evening Reception, which typically offers snacks and beverages, including alcoholic options, providing a relaxing way to unwind after a day of travel or business.
The hotel also provides a complimentary airport shuttle service, a crucial amenity for an airport hotel. However, based on some customer reviews, there have been instances where the shuttle service experienced delays, leading to extended wait times. This suggests that while the service is available, guests may need to factor in potential variations in pick-up times, especially during peak periods.
Customer service interactions present a mixed picture. While some guests have commended individual staff members for being kind, helpful, and polite, particularly the breakfast staff and overnight desk clerks, other feedback indicates significant challenges with responsiveness from management and front desk staff regarding reported issues. This includes unaddressed complaints about room conditions and erroneous charges. It is important for potential guests to be aware of these varying experiences.
As an Embassy Suites property, the hotel's primary feature is its all-suite accommodation. Each suite typically comprises a separate living area with a sofa bed and a private bedroom. This design provides more space and privacy than a standard hotel room, making it suitable for families, business travelers, or those on extended stays. Standard in-suite amenities generally include two flat-screen TVs, a mini-refrigerator, a microwave, and a coffeemaker.
However, based on recent customer reviews, the condition of some of these features has been a point of concern. Issues highlighted include torn curtains resembling a "haunted house," black grime on shower floors, blood on duvets that were not changed upon request, broken shower door handles, malfunctioning wet bar water fixtures, and an overall worn and torn condition of furniture. There were also reports of rooms being excessively humid even with air conditioning running. These issues suggest inconsistencies in maintenance and housekeeping standards within certain rooms.
Beyond the suites, the hotel typically offers additional amenities such as an indoor swimming pool and a fitness center, allowing guests to maintain their routines. Meeting and event spaces are also usually available for business functions or social gatherings. The hotel's atrium design often incorporates communal areas for guests to relax and socialize.
Another recurring issue mentioned by guests is the automatic setting of wake-up calls, even after requests to cancel them, which can be disruptive. This indicates a potential technical or procedural issue within the hotel's wake-up call system.
The value proposition of Embassy Suites by Hilton Philadelphia Airport often revolves around its all-suite concept, complimentary breakfast, and evening reception, along with the convenience of an airport shuttle. These "additional amenities," as one reviewer noted, are often seen as significant perks that can offset the cost of the stay, especially for those looking for more than just a room. The hotel aims to provide a comfortable and convenient experience for travelers, particularly those flying in and out of Philadelphia.
However, based on the provided customer feedback, potential guests should temper expectations regarding the condition of the rooms and the responsiveness of certain aspects of customer service. While the core amenities like breakfast and the airport shuttle are highly valued, the reported issues with room maintenance and unresolved complaints suggest that the perceived "value" can be significantly impacted by the actual experience within the room. Guests seeking a pristine and impeccably maintained environment may find certain aspects disappointing, especially given the "very expensive" cost highlighted in one review for what was perceived as worn-down rooms and disappointing customer service.
It is advisable for potential guests to consider recent reviews when making a booking, especially if room condition and proactive customer service are high priorities. The hotel's strengths lie in its location and key complimentary services, but the noted inconsistencies in room quality and issue resolution should be taken into account when assessing whether it aligns with individual expectations for a "Hotels Near Of Me" search.

May 20, 2025 · Sarah SongI usually love Embassy Suites, but this one failed to meet basic standards. I booked for the location as I was traveling on a difficult schedule with red eye arrival and early morning flight. I called for a shuttle and waited nearly 40 minutes. After calling multiple times, I was given an apology and a shuttle came 10 min later, clearly dispatched just to pick me up. The room was in rough shape too. The handle to the shower door was broken, the water fixture at the wet bar didn’t work properly, and the room was excessively humid even with the A/C running. To add insult to a bad experience I was charged a smoking fee even though I did not smoke in the room. When I called to address the erroneous fee, I was told they will start an investigation and get back to me. I will update my review if they take the chance to make this right, but I have my doubts that will happen. Bottom line: very expensive for worn down rooms and a completely disappointing customer service. The overnight desk clerk tried to be helpful and was polite, but the rest of my experience was not good. I recommend you take your business elsewhere.
May 20, 2025 · B MitchellI was off to a rocky start with this hotel because my flight was delayed and I came in late The shuttle service never picked me up so I had to take an Uber. I'm happy to say that the staff really made up for some of the areas this hotel is lacking. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating especially Layton. He really went above and beyond to help me. He answered all of my questions no matter how many I had. He was always positive and friendly and even allowed me to switch rooms when I had issues with the bed. He knows his job well and I am so grateful for him for making my stay pleasant. That being said the hotel is rather old and could use updating. My company chose this hotel and the accommodations are not as high as some of the newer Embassy suites however the staff makes this place shine. The breakfast was great very friendly cooks who worked hard to fix made to order omelets. All in all it was a nice trip. Layton if you see this review, thank you so much for going above and beyond for me.
May 19, 2025 · meka tateThis is by far one of my favorite hotels. I checked in using my mobile app along with getting into the parking lot. Since I was traveling with family I did get an actual key from the front desk & Ms. Shirley was super helpful she gave me my parking pass, reception & breakfast vouchers. I love the setup of the rooms how the living room separates from the room. The concept of the hotel is so cool to me how you walk out your room & can look down to the atrium. I really love the breakfast the made to order omelettes are what I enjoy most. When I'm in Philly this will be my go to place to stay as it's close to airport & the highway.
May 06, 2025 · Yetta StewartI was there with my spouse who was speaking at a conference. The front staff were so nice but overwhelmed and understaffed. We had a one bedroom suite with a Great view of downtown Philadelphia in the distance. The room was a good value for the space but the bathroom was overdue for needed attention. Once there, you are pretty isolated from everything. You can order expensive food from the hotel restaurant and there is a 24 hr food pantry with a few sandwiches, chips, snacks and beer/wine, but otherwise, the closest restaurant, Ruby Tuesdays, is a 0.3 mile walk.
