I usually don’t like writing bad reviews, but this place left me no choice. I’m honestly frustrated and disappointed. They advertise a kitchen with supplies, but when we got there, it was completely empty. No pots, no plates, no utensils—not even dish soap. On top of that, there were absolutely no cooking essentials. No salt, no oil, no sugar, no coffee, no milk—nothing. How can you call it a kitchen if we can’t even cook? There was only ONE tiny garbage can for the entire room. No trash can in the kitchen. No trash can in the bathroom. Where are we supposed to throw food waste or bathroom trash? And the bathroom? No hand soap at all. That’s just disgusting. Are we supposed to bring our own soap from home to wash our hands after using the toilet? This is a basic necessity! The shampoo and soap were so small they were gone in one use. The towels were cheap, thin, and barely usable. This was a complete waste of money. I regret staying here. You’re better off finding an Airbnb for the same price with actual essentials and a more comfortable setup. Don’t fall for the pictures—this hotel is a joke.
The Philadelphia Suites Extended Stay Hotel, located at 4630 Island Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19153, USA, is presented as an option for travelers seeking longer-term accommodation. For local users Browse the "Hotels Near Of Me" platform with an interest in extended stays, this property may appear as a potential choice. It is crucial to provide an objective introduction based on information available, including recent customer reviews, to set realistic expectations for anyone considering a stay. The "Hotels Near Of Me" category is designed to connect users with immediate lodging, and while this hotel aims to serve the extended-stay market, its positioning and customer feedback necessitate a careful evaluation of its offerings.
The Philadelphia Suites Extended Stay Hotel is situated on Island Avenue, a busy commercial thoroughfare in Southwest Philadelphia, notable for its proximity to Philadelphia International Airport (PHL). This location offers convenient access for travelers flying in or out of the city. The immediate environment is characteristic of an airport-adjacent commercial strip, with various businesses, dining establishments, and transportation links. While its location is practical for airport access, customer reviews indicate that the external appearance of the hotel, and the surrounding area, can be a concern. Comments such as "The whole place is trashy outside and inside" and observations of "trash everywhere and smell strong of weed" suggest that the neighborhood and the hotel's exterior may not present a welcoming first impression. The noise level, particularly from "people talking and walking around behind the door" and "loud music until 3:30 am" from upstairs occupants, points to a potentially disruptive environment for guests seeking peace and quiet. Despite its practical location near the airport, the overall ambiance, as described by guests, seems to be that of a low-budget motel in a bustling, somewhat gritty commercial zone.
The Philadelphia Suites Extended Stay Hotel advertises services typically associated with extended-stay properties, aiming to provide a degree of self-sufficiency for guests. These services generally include a 24-hour front desk, which is essential for check-ins, check-outs, and addressing guest inquiries at any time. The hotel claims to offer rooms with kitchens, implying the availability of cooking facilities. However, customer reviews paint a starkly different picture regarding the actual provision and quality of services. Guests reported "no pots, no plates, no utensils—not even dish soap" in the advertised kitchens, along with "no cooking essentials. No salt, no oil, no sugar, no coffee, no milk—nothing." This indicates a severe lack of basic supplies for a functional kitchen setup, rendering the "kitchen" feature largely unusable for its intended purpose. Furthermore, the absence of hand soap in the bathroom and the provision of "shampoo and soap were so small they were gone in one use" are significant deficiencies in fundamental guest amenities. The check-in process itself was highlighted as a "worst check-in experience EVER," involving being given keys to already occupied rooms multiple times, leading to frustration and delays. This suggests a systemic issue with organization and staff attentiveness, despite the presence of a front desk. While the hotel attempts to offer services, their execution and completeness, as described by guests, appear to be severely lacking, impacting the overall guest experience negatively.
The Philadelphia Suites Extended Stay Hotel's primary feature is its offering of "suites" with purported kitchens, implying a more spacious and self-sufficient accommodation type than a standard hotel room. However, the reality of these features, as detailed by customer reviews, raises significant concerns. The kitchens, despite being advertised, reportedly lacked any necessary supplies or basic essentials for cooking. The rooms themselves were described as having a "smelly" odor, with "big red stains on the carpet that looked like blood," "white stains" on the walls, "cracked" mirrors, and "broken" door handles, indicating a profound lack of cleanliness and maintenance. The scarcity of trash cans, with "only ONE tiny garbage can for the entire room" and "no trash can in the kitchen. No trash can in the bathroom," points to a severe oversight in basic room amenities. The "cheap, thin, and barely usable" towels further contribute to a sense of inadequate provision. While the concept of an extended-stay suite with a kitchen is appealing, the execution of these features, coupled with pervasive cleanliness and maintenance issues, suggests that the actual condition of the accommodations falls far short of what guests might expect from an "extended stay hotel."
For local users considering Philadelphia Suites Extended Stay Hotel through the "Hotels Near Of Me" platform, the promotional information, as inferred from its name and typical extended-stay advertising, would likely highlight the convenience of a kitchen and apartment-style living for longer durations. Its proximity to Philadelphia International Airport would also be a key selling point. The hotel might market itself as a cost-effective alternative to traditional hotels for longer stays. However, the overwhelming and consistent negative feedback from actual customers presents a stark contrast to any implied promotional messaging. Reviews explicitly state, "Don’t fall for the pictures—this hotel is a joke," and "This was a complete waste of money. I regret staying here. You’re better off finding an Airbnb for the same price with actual essentials and a more comfortable setup." The severe deficiencies in basic amenities, cleanliness, and service highlighted by guests directly contradict the expectations typically associated with an extended-stay hotel. Therefore, while the hotel may appear in "Hotels Near Of Me" searches, potential guests are strongly advised to consult detailed recent reviews and consider the significant discrepancies between advertised features and actual guest experiences before booking. The strong recommendation from a frustrated guest to "STRONGLY NOT RECOMMENDED TO STAY AT THIS MOTEL!!!" serves as a powerful cautionary note for any prospective visitor.

Apr 24, 2025 · Nadhir ChoudhuryThis is not a hotel, it's a low budget motel. The whole place is trashy outside and inside. While arriving you will see trash everywhere and smell strong of weed. This is also my worst check-in experience EVER. The girl at the reception gave me a key for the room that's someone it's already there. I found out that when I was trying to open a door to my(occupied) room. I was back to the reception again and she gave me another room on the other side of this "not really great motel". What can go wrong? The key did not work. Well I've gone back to the reception again in a not very positive mood. She gave me a new pair of keys. Went back to the room the new key still did not work and on top of that I could clearly hear people talking and walking around behind the door. Well guess what. This room was occupied as well....Went back to the reception area again. At this point all this BS check-in process was not funny at all. Finally she gave me a key for the room on the first floor but I specifically requested the second top floor. I asked her if she could call or even went to check the room herself first. She respectfully declined my offer...The room where I finally landed was smelly/ with big red stains on the carpet that looked like blood. The wall has white stains, the mirror was cracked in a couple spots , the door handles are broken. On top of that people above me walk and listen to music loudly until 3:30am...I'm supposed to stay there for 3 nights but I left that "paradise" in the morning. NO WAY I can spend another night there. I STRONGLY NOT RECOMMENDED TO STAY AT THIS MOTEL!!!
Mar 04, 2025 · Igor PahrabitskiThis hotel was very disappointing!!! Do Not Waste Your Money!! I booked this hotel to accomadate my daughter 2 granchildren ( who traveled from Maryland) and myself for the weekend. I was excited to try this hotel because of the positive reviews online. However, my excitment was short lived upon my arrival. When I gained access to my room immediately noticed it was not clean. The oven was dirty ( spilled oil and caked up old food at the bottom of the oven.) he picture attached is what the oven looked like after it was "cleaned" by the hotel staff), There were fingerprints on the closet mirrors, one close mirror has a major crack in it when is concerning to have small children around, there was white looking handprints on the headboard ,the water would not get hot and none of the TVs ( total of 3 TVs) would not turn on / work properly. Once I noticed everything called the front desk and informed them of my concerns. The young lady at the front desk very unpleasant and dismissive. She stated she would send someone over. A custodian arrived shortly after and wiped put the oven. After that we waited about an hour to call back about the TVs. The lady at the front desk said she was surprised the guy hadn't stopped pass. She stated she would follow up with him. 2 more hours went by and no one came. I called back a 2 more times from the room phone no one answered. I called once more from my cell phone and the same young lady answered. I informed her of the TV issue once again. She stated there was nothing she could do because the guy left for the night. She went on the explain that she was unable to switch our room or accommodate us in any way because the hotel was fully booked. She then went on to say there was nothing she could do and to call for a manager the next morning. I was in utter disbelief of her lack of compassion. She gave me the manager's name and her name very quickly the hung up before I could ask another question. She just ended the call abruptly. I called back to ask her for her name again, the managers name and when nothe the manager and matienance would arrive to the property. Her reply was " 7a, 8a or 9a" then she unexpectedly hung hung uo again. I am very displeased with the service and I would not reccomend anyone to stay here.
Mar 08, 2025 · Aquilla N MitchellFront desk was nice, room is spacious with all needs included with kitchen. Unfortunately it’s very dirty and housekeeping will not do their job. Even after requested. I had to scrub the guck off the shower in this photo, this is how good I could get it. The heat doesn’t work well. Had it on 74 degrees and it dropped to 65 degrees all night. These were the provided rags and blanket. I ask for new ones and haven’t gotten them.
Dec 15, 2024 · CrystalPhiladelphia Suites Extended Stay Hotel in Philadelphia is an excellent choice for those needing to stay by the airport, and/or be fairly close to Wells Fargo Center. My suite was spacious and clean. Everything I needed was there or a service call away. All amenities were functional and the bed was comfortable. The suite even came at about the price of a regular hotel room. Very much recommended.
