Can’t say nice enough things about my stay here. Every single employee I spoke to, was kind and helpful. Dan helped check us in and was incredible with recommendations. Andy at the lobby always offered services and to help any chance he could!! The hotel is so close to the blade helicopter landing spot and subway!! THE GYM. Best ive been to in New York with a cold plunge, two pools, hot tub, several saunas, and personal training / classes. Will absolutely be back.

This hotel was phenomenal. The rooms are beautiful with dark motorized shades. The bed was comfortable, and the room was supplied with coffee and teas and tons of snacks and drinks as well as supplements. The shower had really nice luxurious smelling products. They're very into wellness here, and there is a spa. A sauna and heated pool are available. Breakfast was delicious. The bar at night was great for a cocktail before dinner. It can get crowded, and they have events where you won't have access to the bar and they don't notify you, so that was my only complaint. Otherwise, great views of the Hudson and city.

It’s a beautifully designed hotel. The aesthetics are very modern-contemporary. However, I would not give this hotel a 5-star rating, maybe 4. I feel like an experience at a Marriott is way better than this hotel. We chose this hotel because we’re Equinox gym members and wanted access to the gym while visiting. The gym did not disappoint even if all the pools were closed while we were visiting. I will say the house keeping staff is top notch. The beds were terrible, stiff as a board. I really wanted to give this place 5 stars but there was something lacking. I think I will be shopping other options when I visit NYC again. Especially at this price point.

Disappointing Experience at Equinox Hotel - Not Worth the Premium Price After booking the Equinox Hotel in Hudson Yards as part of a British Airways package to celebrate my birthday and our 10-year wedding anniversary, I can confidently say this hotel fails to deliver on its premium pricing and luxury promises. At almost £1000 per night—more expensive than established luxury options like The Plaza or The Carlyle—we naturally had high expectations, especially after our exceptional previous experience at The Carlyle. The main reason we chose the Equinox was for its advertised amenities: indoor and outdoor pools, saunas, and gym access. Upon arrival, we were informed that the indoor pools were "under maintenance"—information that was never communicated beforehand. Had I known, I would have certainly booked elsewhere. Since we traveled in March, the outdoor pool was too cold to use. Of the two barrel saunas, only one was operational, and it had a constant queue of gym members waiting. To add insult to injury, we discovered the infrared sauna was only available at an additional cost. When I raised these issues with staff, the response was bizarre. The assistant front desk manager left a note in our room suggesting I should come find him to discuss how to get the "full Equinox experience." I found this approach strange and inappropriate—being summoned to discuss problems is not how luxury hotels typically handle guest complaints. I must also address a concerning financial matter that occurred during our stay. Upon arrival, a standard hold of £750 was placed on our credit card to cover potential incidental charges, which we understand is normal hotel procedure. However, on our second day at approximately 8pm, while we were dining at a restaurant outside of your hotel, an additional £1500 was unexpectedly charged to our credit card without any notification or explanation. When I called the front desk in alarm about this unauthorized charge, instead of acknowledging a simple error, your receptionist insisted that this was "standard procedure" for the hotel but that he would issue a refund. I find this response particularly troubling, as it demonstrates an unwillingness to be transparent with guests when mistakes occur. While errors can happen, the appropriate response would have been to acknowledge the mistake and promptly remedy it, not to falsely claim it was standard policy. The gym itself, while high-quality, is shared with regular Equinox members and gets extremely crowded. Do not expect the private hotel gym experience you might find at other luxury properties. While the rooms are beautifully designed with modern touches, functionality issues persisted. Our air conditioning worked only intermittently, creating uncomfortable sleeping conditions. Unprofessional Departure Our departure experience was equally disappointing. Checking out at 6:10am, we found no proper staff at reception—just a man in a white puffer jacket with takeout food who told us "there was no one there to check us out so we should just go." Paying almost £1000 per night should guarantee a proper checkout experience at a luxury hotel. I had mentioned during booking that we were celebrating my birthday and our anniversary, but this was completely ignored by the hotel—unusual for a property claiming to be in the luxury category. I would not recommend the Equinox Hotel for leisure travelers. It might be suitable for business travelers who need to be in the Hudson Yards area specifically, but for the premium price point, there are far better options in New York City that actually deliver the luxury experience they promise.
