We loved it here! We only stay with Residence Inn because we always love it. The only downside was paying for parking every night, the breakfast, and the refund I had to get because we accidentally booked the wrong room. With how much we’re paying, I don’t find a reason why we would have to pay $14 extra for every single night we’re there. The breakfast yogurt and cereal were probably the only good things they had. The waffles were always undercooked for us even if we waited for the long beep once finished, the ham egg sandwiches had ham that didn’t look good or smell good. And also the scrambled eggs smelled like chemicals. Lastly, we booked the wrong room which we noticed once we went up to the room number they gave us. First, with the accommodations that they give us on the website for booking weren’t met. We asked for extra pillows, extra towels and for our room to be on a higher level.. none of those accommodations were met in the first room we got or the second one. Secondly, yes I maybe booked the wrong room but when we went back downstairs to let the two ladies at the front desk know, they couldn’t let us get another room unless we did a full refund and paid again for the 3 nights we were there. Fine we did it but then we were told it would take 3-4 business days for the money to go back into my account. Other than those 3 things, we loved it and we would definitely stay here again!
For those searching the "Hotels Near Of Me" platform, the Fairfield Inn & Suites Boston Waltham presents itself as a solid and amenity-rich option within the Boston metropolitan area. Located at 250 2nd Ave, Waltham, MA 02451, USA, with a phone number of (781) 202-5150 and mobile phone +1 781-202-5150, this Marriott-branded hotel aims to provide a comfortable and convenient stay for a variety of travelers, from business guests to families.
The environment of the Fairfield Inn & Suites Boston Waltham is geared towards accessibility and practicality. Situated in Waltham, it offers a suburban setting that provides a good balance between a quieter atmosphere and convenient access to the vibrancy of Boston. Its location "just off I-95" (Route 128) makes it highly accessible for those traveling by car, facilitating easy commutes to various corporate offices and attractions in the surrounding areas. The hotel is particularly well-suited for visitors to nearby academic institutions like Bentley College and Brandeis University, both of which are within a short drive (Brandeis University is about 3.1 miles away, and Bentley College is about 4 miles away). While not in the heart of downtown Boston, the hotel's strategic placement allows for efficient travel to the city center and attractions like Fenway Park (approximately 20-30 minutes drive depending on traffic). The immediate vicinity of Waltham also offers its own appeal, with the "town of Waltham" being described as "very clean" with "people were kind," and guests appreciating the convenience of having the Burlington Mall only "15min away," providing "plenty of stores to shop from or restaurants to pick from." The surrounding area is relatively quiet, although some rooms facing the highway might experience noise, suggesting a request for a room away from the highway if silence is a high priority. The hotel is also connected under one roof with a Residence Inn, offering a fusion of two unique brands and potentially enhanced amenities throughout the property.
The rooms at the Fairfield Inn & Suites Boston Waltham generally receive positive feedback for their comfort and cleanliness, aligning with the brand's standards. The hotel offers 94 to 167 guest rooms, including suites, featuring Marriott's "signature bedding," which includes "comfy mattress, fluffy pillows, cozy blankets & crisp bedding," ensuring a restful sleep. Many guests find the rooms to be "spacious" and "very clean," particularly the bathrooms and showers. Standard room amenities include air conditioning, LED flat-screen TVs (often 43-inch) with premium cable channels, free wired and wireless internet access, well-lit work spaces with ergonomic seating, microwaves, refrigerators, and coffee/tea makers. Private bathrooms are equipped with bathtubs or showers, complimentary toiletries, and hair dryers. Soundproofed rooms are also available, which can be beneficial for guests sensitive to noise. Connecting/adjoining rooms are offered for families or larger groups. While one review mentioned issues with accommodations not being met (e.g., extra pillows, towels, higher floor) in initial room assignments, the overall sentiment regarding room quality is positive, with guests appreciating the modern touches like the ability to cast/sign in to Netflix on the TV. Some guests noted that while generally clean, they might find a dirty comforter that was covered by clean sheets, suggesting an occasional oversight, but that it was taken care of.
The services at the Fairfield Inn & Suites Boston Waltham aim to provide a streamlined and convenient experience. The hotel features a 24-hour front desk, ensuring that staff are available at all times for check-in (from 3:00 PM) and check-out (by 12:00 PM), and for addressing guest inquiries. Staff are frequently praised for being "very friendly and helpful," "super friendly, knowledgeable, and courteous," and often going "above and beyond" to ensure a good stay. The hotel provides a "free buffet breakfast" daily, typically from 6:30 AM to 9:00 AM on weekdays and 7:00 AM to 9:30 AM on weekends. While the breakfast is a valued complimentary amenity, guest reviews are mixed on its quality, with some praising it as "hot and well stocked" and "excellent and with variety," while others found certain items like waffles "undercooked" or eggs smelling "like chemicals." The yogurt and cereal, however, often receive positive mentions. It is noted that the hotel's lobby bar was slated to reopen, serving cocktails and libations, which would provide an additional evening amenity. Other services include dry cleaning/laundry services, a laundromat, a 24-hour business center with meeting rooms, and complimentary grocery shopping service. The hotel also offers an electric vehicle charging station and free newspapers in the lobby. Luggage storage and a front-desk safe are available for guest convenience. There are no hotel-provided shuttle services to Logan International Airport (BOS), but alternate paid transportation options like GO Boston Shuttle, Uber, or taxi services are available.
The features of the Fairfield Inn & Suites Boston Waltham contribute significantly to its appeal. A major highlight is the "indoor pool," providing a year-round option for relaxation and recreation. The hotel also boasts a "24-hour fitness center," allowing guests to maintain their exercise routines. For dining beyond breakfast, there's a "bar/lounge" that guests have praised, noting the "drinks were good and the food was great," and a "restaurant" on-site (likely referring to the breakfast area or a limited service offering). The lobby area is described as having a "very warming atmosphere to chill with a cup of tea and a good book," with comfortable chairs and a fireplace, creating a welcoming communal space. The hotel also focuses on sustainability with LED lighting and a comprehensive recycling policy. Pet-friendly accommodations are available for an extra charge per stay (e.g., $100 per pet, per stay), excluding service animals. Self-parking is available on-site, though it comes with a daily fee (e.g., $14 per day), which one guest highlighted as a "downside" considering the overall cost of the stay. However, the presence of parking is a significant convenience in a metropolitan area. The hotel also provides vending machines and a snack bar/deli for quick bites. Safety features include carbon monoxide detectors, fire extinguishers, smoke detectors, and a security system.

Apr 16, 2025 · Emily PaganoThe only reason why my room didn’t receive a 5 stars was because I found one of my comforters a little dirty and it shown that it was cover with the clean sheets on the top luckily it was taken care of. Aside from that the room was fine, very clean the bathroom and shower. The bar was a pleasant place to be the drinks were good and the food was great. The lobby atmosphere is very warming to chill with a cup of tea and a good book. I would definitely come back! Burlington Mall is only 15min away very convenient with plenty of stores to shop from or restaurants to pick from.
Feb 18, 2025 · Roxana BairesI’m a Marriott Bonvoy Gold member, but this property is an embarrassment to the brand. Two nights at $190 per night somehow ballooned to over $750—with hidden fees, outrageous surcharges, and a $100 per night pet fee, which is absolutely absurd. I booked directly through Bonvoy using a member discount, but the front desk staff had no clue how to apply it. No one could explain the charges clearly, and their lack of training falls squarely on poor management. The hotel itself is safe but painfully basic—nowhere near the standard expected of a Marriott property. I’ve stayed at dozens of Marriotts, and this was hands-down one of the worst experiences. Marriott should really reconsider keeping its name on this building.
May 11, 2025 · John PearsonEverything else I like about the hotel but a staff named "Sunny"! Very unprofessional behaviors... Imposed a parking car fees to my room for my sister's car who drove me to check-in and stayed in the room for less than an hour. We explained she won't even care instead yelled at us "I AM CHARGING YOU"!!! with an very angry face. This is certainly an unfortunate and unpleasant experience. For the last two decades staying in Marriott very often and this is first time ran into such unreasonable hotel staff... All because a simple phone call to Marriott to inquire about membership benefits something she simply never bothered to clarify and that appeared got her upset on and was finding a way to retaliate me for the phone call that was not even a complained call. As a loyal Marriott customer I think I deserved a bit more respect than that...
Mar 25, 2025 · Charles ChouMy experience was good at the hotel. I was at the side opposite to the highway so I didn’t get much noise. One of my coworkers complaint that it is really noisy on the other side. The room is a good size, the bathroom as well. The pool is heated and the gym is okay. They serve breakfast in the morning and it has good options.
