Just got back from a three night stay at this hotel with my husband and two young children. I read over reviews of hotels extensively and decided against staying in the downtown area. We were very happy with the location in the garden district, but I am surprised by how many good reviews there are of this hotel. The rooms are pretty dated, and for a family of four, the two queen bed room was very cramped. There are no dressers and it looked like our stuff was every where because there was no where to put things. The bedding, curtains and furniture all had stains and looked weathered and worn out. The shower curtain was very worn and had holes in it. It helped that we spent very little time in our room, otherwise it would have been more of a problem. The common areas are nicer and we enjoyed the breakfast each morning. Nothing special but it sufficed and made our kids happy. The pool was murky and definitely needed to be shocked with chlorine. My husband and I did not feel comfortable swimming in it. The on-site gym is small but perfect for our needs and was empty every time I used it. None of the staff seemed very friendly and we didn’t get any welcome, thank you for staying, or greetings as you come and go. The location and price cannot be beat though. We walked to many locations and the street car stop being right out front was very convenient. Parking for 20 dollars a day in the protected lot was much cheaper than the cost of parking at other downtown hotels. Overall it was the location that made this hotel and not anything else.

Jun 16, 2025 · Stephanie Yeargan LankfordExcellent service and location is perfect. From a service side, everyone was warm, gracious and welcoming. Christian was super helpful and is an absolute jewel of a human being. I wish I could give 10 stars for service. One item was the bathroom in the room we were in was dated, but not terrible. Again, great property with great location and exceptional service.
Mar 21, 2025 · Rick WilliamsWe booked our room months in advance and we were turned away at the front desk. They overbooked apparently and told us when we tried checking in at the front desk late in the evening we couldn’t stay there in the room they had already charged us for. Kim at front desk said only her manager could help us but Kim refused to call her manager because it was too late. The worst disrespect and inhospitable treatment. Kim suggested we try booking the $500/night hotel that was down the street. Poor form, Hampton Inn. No desire to make it right.
Apr 19, 2025 · Kevin BVery nice place to stay, right on St. Charles Ave so the trolley stop is right in front of the hotel making it easy to get around town. Nice rooms, clean and quiet. Very nice staff, especially Tish, who took time with us to explain the trolley system, get us a map as well as make us feel welcome! Will definitely stay here again!
Feb 14, 2025 · Russ Banta0/10 recommend this place. Due to the winter snow storm, 3 of my flights to New Orleans got cancelled last night. First thing this morning- I call to cancel my reservation and get my money back, as I did not stay. Kim, at the front desk, was not understanding of my situation and told me to call the customer service. I did that, they told me they can’t refund for my reservation tonight either. (who does that make any sense that i cannot cancel at 10am if i am not at the hotel & check in isn’t until 3 this afternoon?) Moral of it is; they are money hungry and not accommodating to a WINTER STORM, effecting 10-15 states currently and flights are not available. I do not recommend this place whatsoever! I understand having to pay for last night, but having to pay for tonight as well? Makes no sense
