The hotel is affordable. Location is great. People who worked there were very kind. Parking is affordable and on site (although the ticket scanner to get out of there doesn’t always work). I’m giving 3 stars because the hotel was not very clean. The floors in the lobby area were pretty sticky, the floors in the hotel room itself were covered in stains, and the mattress cover had a weird stain on it.

Hilton Garden Inn Pittsburgh Downtown Introduce

For individuals and families searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" in the vibrant city of Pittsburgh, the Hilton Garden Inn Pittsburgh Downtown stands out as a centrally located and often affordable option. Situated at 250 Forbes Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15222, USA, and accessible via phone at (412) 281-5557, this hotel provides a practical base for exploring the city's attractions.

Environment and Ambiance:

The Hilton Garden Inn Pittsburgh Downtown is a contemporary hotel designed to offer a comfortable and productive stay. While some guest feedback suggests that certain rooms may feel a bit outdated, the overall aesthetic aims for a modern appeal. The lobby area, though sometimes described as having sticky floors by a past guest, generally provides a welcoming space. The hotel strives for a clean and elegantly decorated environment. Some rooms offer desirable "river-view" vistas, providing picturesque outlooks over Point State Park where the Allegheny and Monongahela Rivers meet, as well as views of landmarks like Acrisure Stadium (home of the Steelers), inclines, yellow bridges, and Mount Washington. This allows guests to truly immerse themselves in the unique Pittsburgh landscape from their room.

Services and Amenities:

The hotel prides itself on offering a range of services aimed at convenience and guest satisfaction. The staff consistently receives positive mentions for being very kind, friendly, and helpful, contributing significantly to a pleasant stay. Guests can expect a 24-hour front desk, ensuring assistance is always available. Complimentary wired and wireless internet access is provided in all rooms and public areas, catering to both leisure and business travelers. For dining, the hotel features an on-site restaurant, often referred to as Three Rivers Bar/Restaurant or Revel, which serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Room service is also available during limited hours. While breakfast is offered, it typically comes with an additional fee. The hotel also provides a 24-hour business center with a computer station and printer, and offers meeting and event spaces totaling over 5,600 square feet across various rooms, suitable for business gatherings or social events. Laundry facilities are available, and the hotel is pet-friendly, allowing cats and dogs for a non-refundable fee (with service animals exempt). Luggage storage and daily housekeeping are also part of the services.

Features and Facilities:

Key features of the Hilton Garden Inn Pittsburgh Downtown include its recreational and practical facilities. The hotel boasts a fitness center, open 24 hours, allowing guests to maintain their workout routines. There is also an indoor pool, which past guests have found to be a nice amenity, though one noted a high temperature within the pool area. In-room amenities typically include a refrigerator, microwave, and a Keurig coffeemaker, providing added convenience for guests. Rooms are generally equipped with flat-screen HDTVs with premium channels, and comfortable beds with premium bedding, including Serta Perfect Sleeper™ beds and down comforters. Bathrooms come with shower/tub combinations, designer toiletries, and hair dryers, and are often praised for good water pressure and hot water. However, some guests have reported that certain rooms, particularly those with two double beds, might be very tiny and lack a TV (though this contradicts other information about standard room amenities, suggesting variations between rooms or previous issues that may have been addressed). In-room safes, iron/ironing boards, and desks are also standard. The hotel offers various room types, including King and Queen guest rooms, with suites providing separate sitting areas for more space.

Promotional Information and Parking:

While specific promotions and rates can vary, guests can often find competitive pricing for this downtown location, making it an affordable choice for many. Hilton Honors members typically benefit from loyalty programs that can include perks like discounted rates, digital key access, and other exclusive offers. The hotel also offers connecting rooms for families or groups. A significant point of consideration for guests, especially those searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" and planning to drive, is parking. The hotel offers on-site parking options: self-parking is available for a fee (around $40-$45 per day) and valet parking is also offered for a higher fee (around $50 per day). While the on-site parking is a convenience, some guests have noted that the ticket scanner for exiting the garage doesn't always work seamlessly. Alternatively, more affordable parking garages are available within a block or two, with rates potentially around $23 per night for self-parking, which some guests have opted for. The hotel also provides an area shuttle service for local transportation within a certain radius, which can be beneficial for exploring nearby areas without the need for a car.

Location and Nearby Attractions:

The Hilton Garden Inn Pittsburgh Downtown's location is consistently praised as one of its strongest assets. Situated in the heart of Market Square, it offers immediate access to a vibrant hub of activity with diverse eateries and shops. Many key Pittsburgh attractions are within easy walking distance. These include Point State Park (0.1-0.3 miles), the David L. Lawrence Convention Center (0.4 miles), PPG Paints Arena (0.5 miles), and the Benedum Center. Iconic sports venues like PNC Park and Acrisure Stadium are also very close, often just a 5-minute drive or a comfortable walk away. The hotel's proximity to public transportation, with Wood Street Station just a 4-minute walk and Gateway Station 5 minutes away, makes it exceptionally convenient for navigating the city without a vehicle. This central position makes it an ideal choice for tourists, business travelers, and local users attending events or exploring the city.

Upon arrival, we were asked if we would like Valet parking for $42/night. We declined and parked a block away in a parking garage for $23/night. We stayed here for one night only. Our visit was short, but nice! We chose a river-view room, which looked out across Point Park and we could see the rivers meet. We also had a good view of the Steelers Stadium, one of the inclines, one yellow bridge with the tunnel and a gorgeous view of Mount Washington. We liked the hotel overall, but our room was outdated and VERY tiny. We stayed in room #1512 (15th floor). It had two double beds with a fridge, a small desk and the large window with a view. We did not have a microwave or a TV. The shower was nice and it had amazing water pressure and stayed hot for a while- we love a great shower! Would stay here again- maybe in a different room that’s a little larger. We were hoping for a balcony, but wasn’t necessary. Bed was super comfy and clean. Staff seemed nice for the couple minutes we interacted with them. The 3 Rivers bar/restaurant inside the hotel was cool! We didn’t get any food, but it smelled great. The pool was pretty nice as well! Awesome room, although it was at least 90° in there.

Very clean, nice imenities in room. Very friendly, helpful staff. Centrally located making it easy to get around downtown. Acrisure stadium is about a half hour walk, or five minutes on subway.Price was average. Only negatives were that one elevator was down, making waits to get up and down longer than necessary. Also the restaurant was understaffed with some inexperienced servers, making waits long, and cold food/wrong orders. I would stay here again.

I stayed at this location the weekend of April 4-6 2025. The hotel was gorgeous and the location was great. I checked in the day before on my Hilton app so I had the key on my app at check in, however I like to have physical keys so when I got to the hotel I stopped by the front desk to get them. When I got to the room I put my DND on the door and went about the rest of my night. The next morning housekeeping knocks on my door with my DND sign up, I open the door and politely tell them I’m good and that I don’t need anything. A couple hours later housekeeping knocks again, this time I open the door and look at my DND sign and tell her that I have had my DND sign up all morning. She apologizes again and leaves. I texted the hotel app and let them know the issue and they said the housekeeping manager was aware.. a couple hours later housekeeping knocks AGAIN this time I’m less than friendly (it was a different person this time) and I opened the door and told them my DND sign has been up all day and they keep knocking. The guy apologizes, and I go down to the front desk to talk to someone. The poor girl that was working the desk was alone with no help and there were a line of people waiting to check in at 1p. When it was my turn I told her the issue and she went to pull up my reservation, when she pulls it up she tells me my reservation has been canceled. I did NOT cancel my reservation, she explained that she was going to have to call someone bc she didn’t know how to fix it. With the line of people she had it was going to be a while and I had an event that I had to go to. So I go back up to the room and call Hilton myself and had to spend close to an hour on phone with someone who finally got this issue resolved. They explained to me that one of the staff had accidentally canceled my reservation (I assume when I stopped at the desk to get physical room keys). They got me a new reservation comped, but no one seemed apologetic about the issue. After, we got my room incident resolved, I was leaving to go to the event and in the hall I saw the last guy who had knocked on my door and I apologized to him for being so rude and explained to him that I didn’t know my reservation had been canceled and he said that’s why he also didn’t understand bc it said my room was ‘vacant dirty’. I would stay at this hotel again the room that I had was very nice, water pressure was great, and it’s in a location to walk to many different restaurants and attractions. I am just a little upset that no one at the hotel seemed apologetic for the mess up, and I understand accidents happen, we are human. But I travel a lot and stay at Hilton 99% of the time. Also, after calling Hilton to get the issue resolved she wanted me to stay on the line for a promotion to earn 500 points so I did, and the gentleman that I spoke to about that was very condescending when I told him I didn’t want to do the promotion.

I have stayed here for several stays and noticed recurring problems with elevator(s) and sink drains in rooms are very clogged. The maids do a good job but do not reliably clean the rooms prior to third day (sometimes they do which is much better). The suites are spacious but regular rooms a bit cramped.
