Jan 27, 2025 · Irene SchneiderWe stayed in Holcroft on Hudson in January during a bitter cold snap with snow on the ground. The river was mostly frozen (a Coast Guard ice cutter did a plow-by, which we watched through the kitchen window), the sun was low in sky, and the fireplace crackled in the parlor. For a January weekend, this was the coziest place on Earth. Spring, summer, and autumn must be lovely too (can only imagine the splendorous views of the fall foliage!). We cannot wait to return here again one day.
Jan 27, 2025 · Mike DI will never forget my experience at Holcroft House. My hosts Ruthanna and Julian were the most gracious people. I loved stepping back into history there. The view of the Hudson spread out below and the gorgeous Catskill mountains is somehow stirring and serene. As a lover of history and art I was thrilled to tour the house and then all the local sites. It was one of those perfect fall weekends for our stay and everything just felt like magic. I can’t say enough.
Oct 29, 2024 · William DeForestWe had a wonderful experience at Holcroft on the Hudson. We were attending my son’s wedding at “A Private Estate” and this was the perfect place for our large group to stay. The historic charm was second to none. The setting and scenery was spectacular and made this special weekend so much better. Ruthanna is great host and very responsive. She even mailed us a few items one of our group left in her closet.
Oct 03, 2024 · Jed KennedyWe stayed at Holcroft during our wedding in August. Put simply, Holcroft is a special place. We are so glad we decided to stay and will have memories of it for many years to come. The house is full of history and family memorabilia which makes it so much more interesting to stay at vs. a more impersonal accommodation. It was very comfortable for us and several family members to stay in for the weekend. Privacy is still good even if you have many guests staying. Ruthanna and her husband were very helpful and available and gave us a great walkthrough of the property. Highly recommended.
