I had booked a room for last night, and after 30 minutes of checking in - i left. My first room had mold in the bathroom, in the shower.. and there were stains on the bedsheets. When I told the front desk about this, he gave me another room. When I went into the second room, there was feces in the toilet and little nats all over the place. The room smelled and I grabbed me stuff and went back to the front desk, wanting to let them know that I couldn’t stay here and wanted a refund. He ended up going on a smoke break instead, so I left. We were kind of excited to have an adventure but this hotel is quite disappointing. First, the pluses! The burgers at the adjoining restaurant were delicious. That said, when I told the lovely server I would be splitting the giant $15 burger with my young son who I knew would eat only a few bites, I was told I would be charged $5 for the extra plate. What? I ate my half of the burger over a napkin. Onto the hotel: we are not fancy people, but for $180, we expected a nicer place than this. The room is fine, but the wifi kicks you off and the woman at the front desk didn’t care. I had to visit her in person because she didn’t answer the phone. The hotel itself is grungy, the hallways are freezing, and the decor is outdated. Circa 1998, I’d guess. We went to the pool. The water was a tad cold but as I swam I warmed up. There were only three small, thin, prison-issued pool towels, luckily I grabbed one. The door to the shower had a hole knocked through by a fist, it seemed. The sauna was LOVELY! Come for the sauna! If our stay was $80, instead of $180, I would have left a nicer review. But buyer beware: stay here only if you are stranded in a snow storm, get the room for $80 or less, or just want a nice sauna experience. But pack your own pillow, these pillows feel like you are sleeping on 1000 cotton balls.

Asked her to come to room and see. She didn't. Told her again Saturday morning when checking out and then she offered a change of rooms! What good is that? Terrible customer service!
May 02, 2025 · david ericksonI had a bad experience at the Howard Johnson by Wyndham Saugerties: the WiFi didn’t work at all. When connected, couldn’t reach any website. When I disconnected, I could. Then the pillows are of very poor quality. They were like a bunch of little balls. Also, I requested a room with two beds and they refused, saying that I needed to pay more. Also, the room didn’t have coffee. Finally, my status was not recognized, even though I have stayed at Wyndham hotels many times in this year.
