The room was very clean and in good shape. It’s weird that you have to use the key card at a specific spot in the room in order for the lights to work. The location is great; nearby to restaurants and stores. There are two level 2 ev charging stations at the hotel but they did not work. I asked the receptionist about the chargers but had no answer about it. However, there are four level 3 chargers 2-3 minutes away (Electrify America). The hotel is a good value for the money. There were a lot of good channels available to watch. There is also a gas station within walking distance in case you need gas or to get snacks.

Holiday Inn Express & Suites Saugerties - Hudson Valley by IHG Introduce

For local users searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" that prioritize convenience, cleanliness, and value, the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Saugerties - Hudson Valley by IHG stands as a prominent and reliable option. Situated at 2777 NY-32, Saugerties, NY 12477, USA, this hotel offers a strategic location, making it an ideal base for exploring the charming town of Saugerties, the wider Hudson Valley, and the majestic Catskill Mountains. The hotel can be reached via phone at (845) 247-8800 or mobile at +1 845-247-8800.

The environment of the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Saugerties is geared towards accessibility and practicality. Located directly on NY-32, a main thoroughfare, it offers easy access to local amenities. Guests will find themselves conveniently close to various restaurants, ranging from casual eateries to more upscale dining options, and a selection of stores for any immediate needs or forgotten essentials. A gas station within walking distance is a notable convenience for travelers. While the hotel itself is not nestled in a secluded natural setting, its urban-adjacent location provides a great jumping-off point for exploring the natural beauty of the surrounding region, including the Hudson River and nearby Catskill foothills. The practicality of its location makes it suitable for both leisure travelers looking to explore the area and business travelers needing easy access to routes and local businesses.

In terms of services and features, the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Saugerties upholds the brand's commitment to providing essential comforts and amenities. The rooms are consistently praised for being very clean and in good shape, offering a spacious and comfortable environment for guests. The beds, while subjective in firmness, are generally considered comfortable. A notable feature is the fast and effective climate control system, allowing guests to quickly adjust room temperature for optimal comfort, regardless of the season. Showers are reported to have great water pressure and consistent hot water, even on the top floor, ensuring a refreshing experience. Guests also appreciate the strong Wi-Fi signal throughout the hotel, crucial for both leisure and business needs, and the availability of a good selection of TV channels.

One of the most highly valued services is the complimentary breakfast, which offers a variety of options, including hot food items. This "Express Start" breakfast is a significant benefit, providing a convenient and cost-effective start to the day. While some specific issues, such as the initial quality of half-and-half, have been noted, the staff's immediate responsiveness to rectify such matters is consistently highlighted. The staff, in general, receives high praise for being warm, friendly, and highly responsive to guest requests, contributing significantly to a positive stay.

The hotel features an indoor pool, which is an attractive amenity, especially for families or those seeking to unwind. While there have been observations about the pool cover and a potential mildew-y smell in the pool area, the water itself is generally perceived as clean and safe for swimming. For electric vehicle owners, the presence of Level 2 EV charging stations at the hotel is a distinct feature, although recent customer feedback indicates these have experienced frequent out-of-order issues. However, the proximity to reliable Level 3 Electrify America chargers (just 2-3 minutes away) serves as a convenient alternative, demonstrating that EV charging options are readily available in the immediate vicinity.

Some unique operational aspects include the key card system for lighting within the room, which requires the card to be inserted at a specific spot to activate lights. Additionally, signs in the lobby regarding potential extra cleaning fees for excessive dirt are unusual for some guests, though this likely relates to maintaining cleanliness standards in extreme cases. The standard check-out time of 11 AM is generally appreciated by guests, allowing for a more relaxed morning.

From a promotional standpoint, the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Saugerties positions itself as a good value for the money. The combination of clean and comfortable rooms, complimentary breakfast, and a convenient location near Saugerties' attractions makes it appealing to a broad range of travelers. Its proximity to major local draws like HITS (Horses in the Sun) for equestrian events, the charming Saugerties Lighthouse, and the vibrant arts and culinary scene of Saugerties and nearby Woodstock are key selling points. For visitors exploring the Hudson Valley and Catskills, the hotel offers a reliable and comfortable home base without the higher price point of more boutique accommodations. While certain amenities like the EV chargers and pool might have occasional issues, the overall positive experience, primarily driven by the quality of the rooms, the friendly staff, and the excellent value, leads many guests to recommend it as a worthwhile option for those passing through or staying in the area. The consistent positive feedback on staff, cleanliness, and value reiterates its strong position for local users seeking a dependable "Hotels Near Of Me" option in Saugerties.

Not awful, but a little hit-or-miss. The good: Staff are great, really warm and friendly and responsive to requests. Rooms are clean and spacious. Bed was slightly too squishy for me, but I need a rock-hard mattress, and this wasn't so bad I had to move to the floor to get some sleep, so honestly that's a B+ in my book. Shower is hot and has great water pressure even on the top floor. Wifi signal is strong. Free breakfast has many options, including hot food. Climate control in the room is fast and effective at both heating and cooling. Standard check-out is 11, we love to see it! The unusual: signs in the lobby alert you that you will be charged an extra cleaning fee for tracking dirt on the floor. Everywhere I’ve ever worked, it was just a normal part of doing business to mop/vac the floors daily, and I was confused by these signs. Obviously a hotel should charge a fee for guests who intentionally trash a room, but, I guess I just feel like floors… should be cleaned regularly? That shouldn’t be something you charge extra for? Maybe something really egregious happened recently, like they hosted a pig farmer's convention or something and were just really scarred by the experience. Annoying to me but probably not relevant to tons of people: When I asked for a room, I asked about the EV charging station, which was one of the reasons I chose the hotel. The person at the front desk told me where it was and that there was a door to get back into the hotel right next to it. It wasn’t until I’d already paid for the room and went to go park my car there that I learned that all 4 charging stations were out of order and couldn’t be remotely reset by the charging company customer support (EV Connect) because they were “under repair”. Looking at the reviews on the EV connect and PlugShare apps, I realize now that this is a frequent problem with the chargers at this location, which I wish I would’ve known to check beforehand, and which I wish the person at the front desk would’ve alerted me to when I asked about it in the first place. Slightly worrying but again not likely relevant to everyone: The indoor pool is kept under a cover that they opened on request– it seems like they leave it covered if nobody specifically asks to use it, though I’m not sure why, since it didn’t seem like it helped retain any heat in the water. The pool cover (which rolls up onto one end of the pool) had a pervasive mildew-y smell that made the entire pool area smell kinda gross. The pool water didn’t seem cloudy or unsafe, though, so I did get in and swim. Finally, when I got coffee in the morning, the half and half was kept in an insulated carafe in the mini fridge, but tasted like it had gone off recently. I let the person at the front desk know and they immediately changed it, but along with all the other little things, it just gave the vibe that they’re maybe a little understaffed or something? I dunno. Overall, I do think it’s worth giving this place a chance if you’re passing through, because it’s a good location, the room itself was really nice, and it’s a good value for the price. If those other amenities like the pool and the EV charging aren’t as important to you, you'll probably be perfectly happy. Just wipe your feet!

They look alright and rooms are clean. Staffs are nice. Except the building is built with cheap ass thin walls that you can hear everything from next room and from above you(walking, flushing, etc). If you dont mind driving just a bit more, do yourself a favor and stay in fairfields in Kingston or Albany. Even some airbnbs in Catskill area are nice. You've been warned!

We only stayed one night traveling from across the country. Hotel was very clean and modern. However, we found the breakfast this morning quite dreadful and actually had to throw it out. The “scrambled eggs” were burned, sausage overcooked, and some disc shaped thing we believe were eggs were rubbery. Wife had a biscuit we believe, which was hard and crumbled in her hand. We stayed in many different hotels along our trip and found this hotel had the worst breakfast. The Holiday Inn we stayed at in PA was wonderful. Other than the breakfast, the hotel is quite nice.

I had a very disappointing experience at this property, which raises concerns of inconsistent policies and potentially discriminatory behavior. I booked the stay using a Free Night Voucher for my family and added an additional guest's name in advance. However, the front desk refused to allow check-in without the physical presence of the primary guest, demanding a credit card authorization instead—a requirement that was never communicated before arrival. This last-minute condition caused delays and disrupted our travel plans. When questioned, the staff repeatedly mentioned it was “hotel policy” without offering a clear explanation or written documentation. Notably, other IHG properties do not enforce this, and the inconsistency raises doubts about fairness and whether different guests are treated differently. If this is a policy, it should be communicated clearly at the time of booking or confirmation, not when guests are standing at the front desk.
