The Inn of the Dove at Bensalem is situated on Old Street Road in Bensalem, a suburban community in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. This location offers a balance between accessibility and a sense of privacy, suitable for a romantic retreat. While it is in a commercial area, its design focuses on creating a distinctive internal environment for guests. The grounds are specifically noted for their aesthetic appeal, featuring "photo props, 2 gazebo's and outside seating if you want to enjoy the weather." This indicates an effort to create an inviting outdoor space for guests to relax and take memorable photos, contributing to the romantic ambiance.
The hotel's location provides convenient access to various points of interest in the Greater Philadelphia area. Guests can easily reach shopping destinations, with a review mentioning "Great location to lots of shopping. Great mall close by." This allows guests to combine their romantic stay with retail therapy. Additionally, major attractions like Sesame Place and Parx Casino and Racing are typically within a reasonable driving distance, offering options for daytime activities or evening entertainment. The environment is designed to cater to couples looking for a special experience, providing a dedicated space away from the typical family or business hotel atmosphere.
However, despite the intended romantic environment, one review indicates that the physical upkeep might be a concern, describing the place as "so outdated now" and "definitely not the feel of luxury," suggesting that the ambiance may not always live up to its romantic potential due to aging facilities.
The Inn of the Dove at Bensalem focuses its services and amenities around its unique suite offerings, designed to enhance a romantic or intimate experience. The "deluxe suite" is described as "very spacious and like an apartment," featuring a "dual head showers, separate toilet, a closet with lots of space and an iron and ironing board." These amenities indicate a commitment to providing a comfortable and well-equipped living space.
A key service feature is the presence of a kitchenette with a "mini fridge and microwave," allowing guests to store and prepare light meals or snacks, adding to the apartment-like feel and convenience. The most prominent amenities, central to its name, are the "Jacuzzi tub right by the bed" and a "working fireplace (only for use in fall and winter)," which are significant draws for couples seeking a luxurious and intimate setting. The "mirror on the ceiling over the king size bed" further emphasizes the romantic theme.
Customer service, however, receives mixed and, in some cases, highly critical feedback. One positive review stated, "The staff were very helpful and nice." This suggests that some guests experience attentive and courteous service. Conversely, a highly negative review described the "Front desk guys are like kids," with "crappy service," and noted they "kept rudely hanging up and never calling to get back." This highlights a significant inconsistency in customer service, with reports of "unprofessional" staff and a lack of willingness to address guest concerns or provide information about "complimentary services like the wetbar, free log" upon check-in. The complaint about not being provided with "enough towels" also points to a basic amenity shortfall.
Another area of concern is the advertised services versus actual delivery. The review mentions "they lie there's beverages and snacks," and "Breakfast has no hot foods, or even juices," which contradicts expectations for a stay at this price point or type of hotel. The charging of "$11" for each additional fireplace log after the first, combined with the lack of functional Wi-Fi, further contributes to a perception of overcharging for "cheap quality stuff." These issues severely impact the value proposition and overall guest satisfaction.
The distinguishing features of the Inn of the Dove at Bensalem are its specialized, romantic suites and their unique in-room amenities. Key features include:
However, the hotel also exhibits significant negative features based on customer feedback:
These contrasting points indicate that while the hotel boasts unique physical features, the overall execution of service and maintenance may not consistently deliver a luxurious or problem-free experience.
Given its specific niche as a romantic getaway, the Inn of the Dove at Bensalem likely offers various packages tailored for couples. While no specific promotional information was provided, common offers could include:
For local users searching "Hotels Near Of Me" for a distinctive romantic experience, the Inn of the Dove at Bensalem might appear appealing due to its unique suite features. However, it is imperative to consider the significant concerns raised by recent guests regarding cleanliness, staff professionalism, the true value of complimentary items, and the functionality of basic amenities like Wi-Fi. While the "spacious and like an apartment" feel and in-room Jacuzzis and fireplaces are strong draws, the reported operational and service issues suggest that the actual experience might fall short of the advertised luxury or the price point. Potential guests are strongly advised to contact the hotel directly to clarify specific amenities and confirm current conditions, and to balance the allure of unique features with the need for reliable service and cleanliness.

Get directionsThe deluxe suite we were in was very spacious and like an apartment. It had dual head showers, separate toilet, a closet with lots of space and an iron and ironing board. There was a kitchenette with mini fridge and microwave. As it was a romantic suites, there was a mirror on the ceiling over the king size bed. There was a Jacuzzi tub right by the bed and there was a table and 2 chairs and a working fireplace (only for use in fall and winter) but beautiful to see. The grounds were set with photo props, 2 gazebo's and outside seating if you want to enjoy the weather. The staff were very helpful and nice. Great location to lots of shopping. Great mall close by.
May 23, 2025 · Schmaine MeadowsBooked a night for my wife and I to have a nice getaway. The jacuzzi was great, but honestly it doesn't look like it gets cleaned well. They don't provide you with enough towels, when first checking in they don't mention any of the complimentary services like the wetbar, free log, or even to provide anything to your room without you having to go to the front desk everytime. The worst part was probably the fact that they lie there's beverages and snacks, the package deals are cheap quality stuff overcharged, wifi doesn't work, and each log after the first is $11. The front desk guys are like kids, if your concerned your not really getting what you paid for they just direct you to a Manager. Who wants to do that on a vacation? They also kept rudely hanging up and never calling to get back, so with crappy service, I dont see why I'd want to spend almost $150 on a standard room again. Breakfast has no hot foods, or even juices. This is definitely a 2 star hotel. You're better off going to Days Inn or Ramada Jacuzzi Room, better service and quality complimentaries that they always fulfill. It not worth the trouble to impress your girls with this place guys, maybe they were better when they first opened, but it's so outdated now. Definitely not the feel of luxury.
Apr 11, 2025 · zWarBandit1125Had my stay last night and I had an OK but bad experience. I honestly ended up checking out at 1am. I didn't like the fact that my room was very poorly cleaned. The toilet was very disgusting, and the jacuzzi was poorly cleaned, so I refused to use it. The sheets had brown spots on them, so I didn't trust sleeping in it. The carpet was very old, dirty, and stained pretty badly. For the price I paid, I would think it would way cleaner. The rose pedal set up I paid for was beautiful, but other than that, I was very unhappy. My boyfriend and I enjoyed a few drinks together, ordered food, and then honestly checked out!
Apr 27, 2025 · stephanie dispenzaStayed in the pool suite. Honestly the room was pretty amazing. Secluded , couldn’t hear anyone else. Nice big warm pool. Not as clean as I would like, but I’ve definitely seen and stayed in wayyyy worse. Friendly staff, complimentary breakfast isn’t terrible but I would recommend a waffle maker to be placed in.
Apr 02, 2025 · Jennifer SpikerMy fiance and I booked the Pool suite, it was Fantastic!!! The pool was warm, the room was clean, everything was Great!! The attendants are super sweet and awesome! We will definitely be going again! I do wish the beds and pillows were more comfortable, it wasn't terrible, but the beds definitely need to be updated! Still, can't wait to come back!
