Newark Liberty International Airport, 1 Hotel Rd, Newark, NJ 07114, USA
You really cannot beat the location and the ease and convenience of the free shuttle running approximately every 20 to 35 minutes back-and-forth from the hotel to the airport. The rooms needed some updating for sure. This building must have been an existence for a very long time now you could see rust around the sprinklers water stains the wallpaper peeling away a bit just everything was kind of old. The beds were clean nothing smelled, but my air system was broken in my room thank God I was able to crack a window because after trying to cool off the room which was at 75 when I got in there, it crept up to 78° and then 80° so I knew to turn the system off at that point. I’m sure I could’ve asked to be put in a different room, but I didn’t bother because I was in town for just one full day checking out the following day due to a death in the family. The staff was very helpful. What we had questions about the shuttles or if we had parking already paid for our reservation really whatever we needed. so for location, transportation and helpful staff I give this place five stars. The lobby was gorgeous. They had a restaurant downstairs coffee, so it was great to hang out and wait for the right time to take our shuttle back to the airport. just a few updates in the rooms would be needed for a five star review for sure. I also recommend the breakfast buffet, but if you’re staying there for multiple days, maybe not every single day because you can take fruits and cereals and such back to your room which was great to have in case you wanted a snack at night. Also, car rental on premises but def. make a reservation, otherwise you can always take the shuttle back to the airport and walk over to get a car.
The Newark Liberty International Airport Marriott, located directly at Newark Liberty International Airport at 1 Hotel Rd, Newark, NJ 07114, USA, is a prime choice for travelers seeking unparalleled convenience to one of the busiest transportation hubs in the United States. With phone numbers (973) 623-0006 and +1 973-623-0006, this Marriott property caters specifically to the needs of airline passengers, business travelers, and anyone requiring immediate access to EWR. For the "Hotels Near Of Me" platform category, this hotel stands out due to its literal on-airport location, making it the epitome of proximity and ease for users searching for accommodations directly at or adjacent to the airport.
The environment of the Newark Liberty International Airport Marriott is characterized by its strategic positioning within the airport complex. Upon arrival, guests are greeted by a "gorgeous" lobby, suggesting a well-maintained and aesthetically pleasing central area that serves as a welcoming hub. This communal space often features comfortable seating, ideal for waiting for shuttles or meeting associates. The hotel's design likely prioritizes functionality and efficiency, catering to the transient nature of airport guests. While the lobby and common areas appear to be well-regarded, some guest feedback indicates that the rooms themselves could benefit from updating. Observations such as "rust around the sprinklers," "water stains," and "wallpaper peeling away a bit" suggest that while the hotel maintains cleanliness (beds and towels are clean, nothing smelled), the physical infrastructure in guest rooms shows signs of age. This implies a classic Marriott architectural style that, while functional, might not reflect the most modern design trends in all aspects of the guest rooms. However, the overall impression for many is that these cosmetic issues do not significantly detract from the primary benefit of the location and core services.
The services offered at the Newark Liberty International Airport Marriott are tailored to the demands of airport travelers. A standout service is the free shuttle, running approximately every 20 to 35 minutes, providing seamless transportation "back-and-forth from the hotel to the airport." This amenity is crucial for guests arriving or departing from EWR, eliminating the need for taxis or ride-shares for airport transfers. The staff are consistently described as "very helpful," assisting with inquiries about shuttles, parking, and other guest needs, contributing significantly to a positive experience. The hotel also features on-site dining options, including a "restaurant downstairs" and coffee service, offering convenience for meals without leaving the premises. For those needing a vehicle, "car rental on premises" is a notable service, though making a reservation is recommended. Alternatively, guests can use the shuttle back to the airport to access other car rental facilities. A "gym was nice" is also available, allowing guests to maintain their fitness routines. Additionally, the availability of a breakfast buffet is a key offering, providing a comprehensive start to the day. For guests with lounge access, while the gym is appreciated, the executive lounge could be improved with the addition of snacks or coffee/tea outside of meal times, indicating an area for potential service enhancement.
Key features of the Newark Liberty International Airport Marriott are its unparalleled location and accessibility. Its direct connection to Newark Liberty International Airport is its strongest asset, offering convenience that "you really cannot beat." This is a significant draw for users searching within the "Hotels Near Of Me" category, especially when the "Me" is EWR. The reliable and frequent airport shuttle service further solidifies this feature, making transit effortless. The presence of a car rental facility directly on the premises adds another layer of convenience for guests planning to explore the wider New Jersey area or beyond. The hotel's lobby is noted for its "gorgeous" appearance, serving as a comfortable and inviting space for guests. The breakfast buffet is another highly recommended feature, praised for its offerings and the ability to take fruits and cereals back to the room for later snacks, a thoughtful touch for travelers. While the rooms may show signs of age, their cleanliness and the effectiveness of the staff in addressing issues (like potentially moving rooms for a broken AC, although the guest chose not to) indicate a commitment to guest comfort. The presence of a restaurant and coffee options directly within the hotel eliminates the need for guests to seek dining outside the immediate premises.
Regarding promotional information, the Newark Liberty International Airport Marriott, as a key player in the "Hotels Near Of Me" airport accommodation segment, would likely emphasize several aspects. Its primary promotional message would center on its "unbeatable location and ease and convenience of the free shuttle." This direct-to-airport access is a significant selling point for time-sensitive travelers. Promotions might also highlight:
In conclusion, the Newark Liberty International Airport Marriott offers a highly convenient and functional accommodation solution for travelers at EWR. Its direct airport location, efficient and free shuttle service, and helpful staff are its most significant assets, making it a top choice for those searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" when referring to the airport. While the guest rooms could benefit from modernization, the core services and the exceptional convenience it provides largely outweigh these considerations for many guests. The presence of dining options, a gym, and on-site car rental further enhance its appeal, establishing it as a comprehensive solution for airport-related travel needs. Despite some minor criticisms regarding room updates and lounge amenities, the overwhelming feedback underscores its effectiveness as a reliable and convenient airport hotel.

Feb 09, 2025 · sarah beeCan’t beat the location. Rooms are nice. They up charge all food and hotel items - $15 for one small snack bag from the little market by the front desk. Also, I had lounge access and there was literally nothing in there if you weren’t there for a meal. Would have been nice to see some snacks or coffee/tea in there. Gym was nice.
Apr 11, 2025 · Kelly H.The Marriott at Newark Liberty International offers a solid, modern experience. Facilities are impeccably clean and the rooms are stylish and well-maintained. I particularly appreciated the excellent hot water in the shower – a welcome feature after a long flight. However, a few things prevented this from being a 5-star stay. Firstly, the lack of complimentary bottled water in the room was disappointing. Secondly, even as a Bonvoy status holder, I was surprised to find no complimentary water offered, and instead, was faced with a $6 charge per bottle. These small details, while not deal-breakers, did detract from the overall value. If these issues were addressed, this hotel would easily earn a full 5 stars.
Mar 26, 2025 · Mudasser Zaheer (MAZ)For the price and the Marriott brand, I expected way better. The bathroom was not clean. The clock was showing the wrong time, and one of the lamps was flickering when turned on. The room service food is underwhelming, despite the high price.
May 19, 2025 · Dmitry Smalyuk2am review: Never stay here if you want sleep or need management intervention. Had five hours to sleep between connecting flights, and was literally woken up by the person’s snoring and tv in the next room (while listening to an audiobook with headphones on). Do not stay in room 823. Floors in the hallway don’t look like they’ve been vacuumed in days. Having stayed in Marriotts over 120 days across the globe, this is by far the worst experience. Took a video to document, but Google reviews doesn’t allow videos. Location appears on maps to be inside the airport. It is not. Need to take a shuttle. Update: called down to complain to manager and asked for a refund or credit considering I checked in at 11pm, and need to be out at 4am for a flight. She said she had to follow protocol at 2am and wake the guy up snoring (as if they wouldn’t just go back to snoring) or give me another room for the 1.5 hours I have left to sleep (which by the time I got settled would be 1 hour). The most interesting part, after I stated I would write a formal complaint, she went on to make up a story stating I was calling her names (which I wasn’t). Assuming she was saying this so others around her could hear because they couldn’t hear me. What I actually said was, “You’re a manager, so I’m assuming you have common sense and can recognize waking him up at 2am will not relieve the situation because he’ll just start snoring again. It’s not his fault the walls are so thin, and he can’t help he snores”.
