The rooms are very nice, neat and spacious. The pull out bed on the couch is nice. However, the telephone in my room isn't working. I love the fact that they have Dove hand wash, hand lotion, body wash, Shampoo and Conditioner. They do have complimentary such as tooth paste, tooth brush, shaving cream, razor, etc. I have no issues with this room besides the voices I'm hearing which is letting me know that this place is bugged up with some sort of hidden device(s). That's alarming. I do feel threatened. I've reported it to the police. I'm still here and might be spending a few more days here. This is risky. If anything happens to me everybody here needs to be held accountable. Someone invented this and I'm sure there's a way they can disconnect it. Making hot food over a stove and having plates, Cups, spoons, forks, knives and a dish washer would be great too. Again, it is very nice here.
For those local users seeking "Hotels Near Of Me" with convenient access to Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR), the Holiday Inn Express Newark Airport – Elizabeth by IHG, located at 1128 Spring St, Elizabeth, NJ 07201, USA, presents itself as a viable option. As an IHG property, it generally aims to provide a reliable and efficient stay, particularly for travelers in transit or on short visits.
The environment of the Holiday Inn Express Newark Airport – Elizabeth is primarily geared towards practicality and convenience, as is typical for airport hotels. Reviews describe the rooms as "very nice, neat and spacious," suggesting a generally well-maintained and comfortable interior. The hotel aims to offer a standard Holiday Inn Express experience, which typically means a focus on clean, functional spaces. However, one review introduces a highly unusual and alarming element, mentioning "voices I'm hearing which is letting me know that this place is bugged up with some sort of hidden device(s)" and expressing feeling "threatened." This is an extremely rare and severe complaint, and while it's important to present all given information, it stands as a unique and uncorroborated claim within the provided context. Apart from this, the hotel's environment is described as "pretty standard," offering what one would "expect from a typical Holiday Inn."
The services offered by the Holiday Inn Express Newark Airport – Elizabeth are primarily centered around catering to the needs of airport travelers and those on brief stays. A key service is the complimentary airport shuttle, which operates every 30 minutes from P4 at Newark Airport. Guests are advised to "double-check you’re boarding the one for your intended property," as multiple Holiday Inn shuttles serve the same pick-up point. This service is crucial for convenience, ensuring straightforward access to and from EWR. While one guest left before breakfast, Holiday Inn Express properties typically offer a complimentary hot breakfast, which would be a significant service for guests seeking a quick and easy start to their day.
The features of the guest rooms are highlighted positively in terms of comfort and amenities. Rooms are described as "spacious" and include a "pull out bed on the couch," making them suitable for families or groups. The hotel provides a thoughtful array of complimentary toiletries, including "Dove hand wash, hand lotion, body wash, Shampoo and Conditioner," along with essentials like "tooth paste, tooth brush, shaving cream, razor, etc." This attention to detail in providing personal care items enhances the guest experience. While one reviewer wished for "hot food over a stove and having plates, Cups, spoons, forks, knives and a dish washer," suggesting a desire for extended-stay amenities, the hotel's primary focus appears to be on standard overnight comforts. However, a significant concern raised is a "concerning black stain on the corner ceiling" in one room, which the reviewer was unsure if it was mold, indicating potential issues with room maintenance in some instances. The gym is noted as "basic," featuring "a few treadmills, bikes, and free weights," providing a minimal fitness option.
The hotel's location in Elizabeth, NJ, is primarily advantageous for its direct proximity and convenient shuttle access to Newark Liberty International Airport. This makes it a "solid choice for a short stay near Newark" and a "decent option" for a "quick overnight stop near EWR." Its placement in Elizabeth means it's part of an urban landscape, and while specific local attractions or dining options within walking distance are not highlighted, its main appeal is its transit-oriented convenience. Its address on Spring St. ensures it's easily reachable by road for those driving.
From a promotional standpoint, the Holiday Inn Express Newark Airport – Elizabeth would emphasize its "convenience" to EWR, its reliable 30-minute shuttle service, and the comfort of its "nice, neat and spacious" rooms. The complimentary toiletries and the availability of pull-out beds would also be key features to promote. The overall message would be one of a dependable, straightforward, and efficient airport hotel, providing exactly what travelers "would expect from a typical Holiday Inn" for a short stay. While the very serious and unique claim of a "bugged up" room and feeling "threatened" would be a significant challenge if widely known, based solely on the provided review, other aspects such as room comfort and shuttle service are positive. The recommendation of the hotel for its convenience strongly supports its primary utility for airport travelers.

May 20, 2025 · Sharese EasterlingHoliday Inn Newark Airport is a solid choice for a short stay near Newark. Getting there from the airport is straightforward—just head to P4 and wait for the shuttle, which arrives every 30 minutes. Be aware, though, that multiple Holiday Inn shuttles stop at P4, so double-check you’re boarding the one for your intended property. The hotel itself is pretty standard, offering exactly what you’d expect from a typical Holiday Inn. My room was basic but sufficient for an overnight stay if you’re traveling to or from the airport. The gym was also basic—featuring a few treadmills, bikes, and free weights. Unfortunately, I did notice a concerning black stain on the corner ceiling of my room; I’m not sure if it was mold, but it did stand out. Aside from that, my stay was pleasant. I left before breakfast started, so I wasn’t able to see what they offered. If you need a quick overnight stop near EWR, Holiday Inn Newark Airport is a decent option. I’d recommend this hotel for its convenience.
Mar 15, 2025 · Ryan SmithThis is very conveniently located next to the airport. The shuttle is super easy to use and the staff was very nice. I would say that the room is outdated but for being right next to the airport I didn't say that this room is pretty okay. I definitely would not have sat in the bathtub. It needed some updates but the park and fly rate was good. Shuttle does take you really really far if you have to go to terminal A so you'd probably need to add an extra 30 minutes
Mar 10, 2025 · Laura HorowitzIt's a place to lay your head. Shuttle is consistent (about 10min drive) there is no bar/restaurant however but the complimentary breakfast does include some hot items. Not worth the price but the close proximity is nice.
Mar 22, 2025 · Ry McgheeOur room was absolutely disgusting and dirty. The bathroom had stuff all over the floor. The toilet didn’t flush properly. We called to have it fixed and we still had problems afterwards But the worst part. After you use the shower , it drips for 7-8 hours and so it kept us up all night both nights ! Hotel didn’t even seem to care when we brought it to their attention.
