I stayed here for an evening. The hotel lobby seems to be newly renovated. Very spacious dining area. The hotel offers flavored water at the entrance. Staff that I encountered was very friendly. I rated the service 3 stars as I waited over an hour for the hotel shuttle and I called the hotel twice to verify. The location is close to Jersey Mills. A short walk to the mall but you must watch out for cars turning at the intersection as they don't look for pedestrians even if you have the walk symbol. My room on the end floor backed to the parking lot. There is a truck lot back there and it was really noisy with the trucks back up signals being heard overnight. My room was old but the amenities were good. The temperature control didn't work and it was super warm. Even though we turned down the temperature. We ended up turning it off. Complimentary breakfast was decent compared to others I had with lots of different options. I didn't find bugs in my room but the room was dated.
As a key offering within the "Hotels Near Of Me" category, the Residence Inn Newark Elizabeth/Liberty International Airport presents itself as a practical and often preferred choice for travelers seeking accommodations in the Elizabeth, New Jersey area. This category is specifically designed to connect local users with services and goods in their immediate vicinity, and for hotels, this means providing detailed, relevant information to help potential guests make informed decisions. Situated at 83 International Blvd, Elizabeth, NJ 07201, USA, this hotel is strategically located for those flying into or out of Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR), as well as individuals looking to explore local attractions like The Mills at Jersey Gardens.
The Residence Inn brand, part of the Marriott family, is generally known for its extended-stay offerings, providing more than just a typical hotel room. This particular property aims to deliver on that promise, offering amenities designed for longer stays, though it also caters to overnight guests. The hotel's phone number is (908) 352-4300, and the mobile phone contact is +1 908-352-4300, ensuring easy accessibility for inquiries and bookings.
The hotel's location is a significant aspect of its appeal, particularly for the "Hotels Near Of Me" audience. Its proximity to Newark Liberty International Airport makes it an attractive option for airline passengers, flight crews, and business travelers. Beyond the airport, the hotel is notably close to The Mills at Jersey Gardens, a popular outlet mall. Guests have noted that the mall is within walking distance, though caution is advised due to vehicle traffic at intersections, a common urban consideration. This accessibility to shopping adds a leisure element for guests looking to fill their time.
Regarding the immediate surroundings, some guests have observed that rooms on lower floors or those backing onto the parking lot can be subject to external noise, specifically from a truck lot in the vicinity. This is a crucial detail for potential guests who prioritize a quiet environment, and it highlights the importance of requesting higher floors or rooms away from this specific area if noise sensitivity is a concern. The hotel lobby itself has been described as newly renovated and very spacious, suggesting a welcoming initial impression upon arrival.
The Residence Inn Newark Elizabeth/Liberty International Airport offers a range of services aimed at enhancing guest comfort, particularly for extended stays. A key feature is the complimentary breakfast, which has received positive feedback for its variety and quality compared to other similar hotel offerings. This can be a significant cost-saver for guests and contributes to the overall value proposition of the hotel.
Another crucial service, especially for an airport hotel, is the shuttle service to and from Newark Liberty International Airport. However, it's important for prospective guests to note that there have been instances of significant wait times for the shuttle, with some guests reporting waits exceeding an hour. This suggests that while the service is provided, guests should factor in potential delays and perhaps consider alternative transportation options or plan their schedule with flexibility, especially when heading to the airport for a flight.
The hotel aims to provide a friendly atmosphere, with many guests praising the general helpfulness and friendliness of the staff encountered. The presence of flavored water at the entrance is a small but appreciated touch that contributes to a welcoming ambiance. For in-room amenities, guests can expect a kitchen and other features typical of an extended-stay property. However, some reviews indicate that while amenities are good, certain rooms might be dated or show signs of wear, such as non-functioning temperature controls. Potential guests should be aware that room conditions may vary.
It is important to note the lack of a swimming pool. While many hotels in this category offer recreational facilities, guests have explicitly mentioned that this hotel does not have a functioning pool and has not had one for several years. This information is critical for families or individuals who specifically seek a pool as part of their hotel experience. Additionally, pet-friendly policies are typically a hallmark of Residence Inn properties, though it's always advisable to confirm with the hotel directly regarding any specific pet fees or restrictions.
The core feature of a Residence Inn is its suite-style accommodations, which typically include a separate living area, a fully equipped kitchen, and a bedroom. This setup is ideal for extended stays, allowing guests to cook their meals and enjoy more space than a standard hotel room. However, some guests have reported issues with room cleanliness upon arrival, suggesting that consistency in housekeeping may vary. Similarly, while amenities are generally present, their functionality can be inconsistent, as evidenced by reports of non-working temperature controls.
A significant concern raised by multiple guests revolves around security and staff accountability. Reports of stolen items from locked rooms, packages going missing, and unauthorized entry into rooms are serious issues that prospective guests should be aware of. The perceived lack of responsiveness from staff regarding these incidents, coupled with admissions of limited security cameras, paints a concerning picture regarding guest safety and the hotel's handling of such sensitive matters. This feedback is particularly critical for the "Hotels Near Of Me" audience, as local users often rely on word-of-mouth and real-world experiences when choosing accommodations.
Issues with billing and communication have also been noted. Guests have reported being given incorrect information about fees and subsequently charged without prior conversation or follow-up from the hotel. This highlights a potential area where the hotel's operational procedures could be improved to ensure transparency and better guest relations.
While specific promotional offers are not detailed in the provided information, hotels in the "Hotels Near Of Me" category often leverage their loyalty programs, such as Marriott Bonvoy for Residence Inn, to attract and retain guests. Potential promotions might include discounts for extended stays, special rates for AAA or AARP members, or packages that combine airport shuttle service with accommodation. The complimentary breakfast is a standing promotional feature that adds significant value, especially for longer visits.
For those attending events or business meetings in the Elizabeth area, the hotel's spacious dining area could potentially serve as a flexible space for small gatherings, though this would need to be confirmed directly with the hotel. Its proximity to both the airport and major shopping centers makes it a convenient hub for various types of travelers.
In summary, the Residence Inn Newark Elizabeth/Liberty International Airport offers an extended-stay option with the convenience of a kitchen and complimentary breakfast, making it suitable for longer visits or for those who prefer to prepare their own meals. Its location near EWR and The Mills at Jersey Gardens is a definite advantage. However, potential guests, especially those reviewing it under the "Hotels Near Of Me" category, should weigh these benefits against reported issues concerning shuttle service reliability, room maintenance, and, most critically, concerns regarding security and staff responsiveness. An objective assessment suggests that while the hotel provides key amenities for its target audience, prospective guests should manage their expectations regarding certain aspects of service delivery and room condition.

Dec 12, 2024 · Jie HuangDuring my month-long stay at Residence Inn Newark Elizabeth, a sentimental item was taken from my locked room—one that meant a great deal as it was a gift from someone who is no longer with me. I reported it immediately on February 19th, yet staff failed to document it until the 21st and never followed up unless I pushed for answers. Instead of taking it seriously, they dismissed me, with one saying, “We aren’t responsible for what is lost in the room.” The hotel’s lack of security was alarming—staff admitted there were only two cameras in the entire building, a coworker’s package went missing, and another had a stranger walk into her room while she briefly stepped out. I felt unsafe, ignored, and unwelcome the entire time, with staff like Pascale and Ricardo being particularly rude and unhelpful. This hotel showed no accountability, and I would never stay here again. Also there is no pool. Usually our company will put us in a hotel with a pool. Apparently according to staff they haven't had a functioning pool in 5 years. My room was dirty upon arrival. I was also given false information about fees and they just attempted to overnight charge the additional fees without any additional conversation. Any follow-up had to be initiated on my end.
Mar 16, 2025 · Jae JasminStayed at the Residence Inn Newark for one night. Location was convenient - close to airport and Jersey Mall. Not sure if it was shift change or what but we waited an hour for the airport shuttle. Spoke to hotel twice and they said 15 wait only. We saw all the other hotel shuttles come two or three times before we saw ours the first time. Rooms looked clean but tired. We were on the second floor by the parking lot and there were trucks beeping all night long (reversing). I was very impressed with the breakfast options - lots of great options with some very yummy hot options. I would be tempted to stay at this hotel again because of the great breakfast. But there are quite a few hotels that had better airport shuttle service with the same convenience in location to what we were doing.
Dec 12, 2024 · Jennifer HuangRooms were cool, shuttle bus drivers sucked. They came when they want to and had us waiting for a long time a lot. Had to catch other hotel shuttles. Hotel staff lied about why they charged my card when my job paid for our rooms, trash around the facility and I never got my Bonvoy points and I said there for 3 weeks. I wouldn’t pay to stay there but overall it was cool for what it was.
Jan 05, 2025 · Pamela DemonbreunDeplorable Service and Discriminatory Treatment – A Titanium Elite Member’s Worst Experience I have been a loyal Marriott Bonvoy Titanium Elite member, but my recent stay at Residence Inn by Marriott Elizabeth, New Jersey was beyond unacceptable—a disgrace to the Marriott brand. My family and I were in town for a funeral, already dealing with an emotionally difficult time. Instead of professionalism and hospitality, we were met with disrespect, discrimination, and blatant incompetence—all the way up to General Manager Gabriel Kuan. Harassment, Humiliation & Baseless Accusations 1. My son was labeled “suspicious” for asking for paper plates, forks, and spoons. Since when is requesting basic dining essentials a security concern? 2. I was targeted for extending my stay using points. I was told my account was “flagged” for booking daily with my hard-earned Titanium Elite benefits. If this was an issue, why allow it? 3. I was forcibly removed despite prior communication about my stolen ID and credit card. The hotel had already permitted me to check in without them and was fully aware that I was waiting for replacements. Yet suddenly, it became a reason to kick my family out. 4. Joelle Alerte displayed outright mockery and unprofessionalism. After I explained we were here for a funeral, she sarcastically offered condolences, laughed, and repeatedly cut me off while I spoke. Disrespectful doesn’t even begin to cover it. 5. GM Gabriel Kuan falsely implied drug-related activity. He claimed someone in my party was asking about marijuana. Let’s be clear: Medical marijuana is legal in New Jersey and my home state. A misplaced prescription is not a crime. His insinuations were inappropriate and offensive. Housekeeping Lies & Disrupting My Autistic Child’s Routine • I requested full housekeeping service before leaving the room. Upon returning, I was assured multiple times that the room had been cleaned. It was a lie. • I was traveling with a child with autism who follows a strict bath and bedtime routine. When I asked for immediate resolution, Manager Brooke repeatedly insisted the room had been serviced—only to later admit she was mistaken. • She then suggested sending a housekeeper right at bath and bedtime—a disruption that could trigger a meltdown. Only after I had to disclose personal medical details (which should not have been necessary) did she finally offer a clean room. • The so-called “clean” room had no comforters, and I highly doubt the sheets were fresh. The Only Professional Staff Member? Elizabeth. She was the only person who displayed any level of genuine customer service and attentiveness. If the rest of the staff had her professionalism, this hotel wouldn’t be such an embarrassment to the Marriott brand. Final Thoughts: Marriott, Fix This. This experience wasn’t just frustrating—it was humiliating, discriminatory, and disgraceful. The treatment my family endured—especially during a time of mourning—was inexcusable. Marriott Bonvoy, take action. The Residence Inn Elizabeth, NJ is failing at every level—dishonest staff, untrained management, and outright hostility toward guests. This hotel needs serious intervention before it damages your reputation any further.
