When considering a hotel under the "Hotels Near Of Me" banner, the environment is often a primary concern. For Essence Express Elizabeth, its location on Spring Street places it within the urban fabric of Elizabeth, New Jersey. This means guests can expect an environment typical of a city setting, with varying levels of ambient noise and activity. Proximity to local amenities, transportation hubs, and other points of interest would be a key environmental factor for guests. The immediate surroundings on Spring Street would likely consist of other commercial establishments, residential buildings, or local infrastructure, contributing to the overall urban experience. Travelers valuing a central, accessible location within Elizabeth might find this aspect appealing.
In terms of services, a hotel like Essence Express Elizabeth typically offers standard amenities expected in a budget-friendly accommodation. While specific service details beyond general operation are not extensively provided, it is reasonable to infer that guests would have access to a front desk for check-in and check-out, and potentially assistance with general inquiries. Customer reviews suggest that front desk staff are present and engage with guests, as indicated by a reviewer mentioning a "gentleman behind the glass were very nice helped me with a tv issue told me about a grocery store near by." This indicates a level of guest interaction and problem-solving. Other common services in such establishments might include daily housekeeping, Wi-Fi access, and possibly basic toiletries. However, the quality and consistency of these services can vary, as highlighted by some customer feedback.
Regarding features, several aspects of Essence Express Elizabeth can be gleaned from customer experiences. The presence of hot water in bathrooms is noted, with one review specifically mentioning it being "extremely hot." This could be a feature of comfort for some, though the same reviewer also raised a safety concern about its temperature. Room amenities would typically include a television, as evidenced by a guest needing help with a "tv issue." The presence of fans in rooms is also indicated by a complaint about a "loud fan." These are standard features found in many hotels. The overall atmosphere and cleanliness, however, appear to be highly variable, as reflected in the contrasting customer sentiments.
Customer reviews offer valuable insights into the actual experience at Essence Express Elizabeth. One customer acknowledged the helpfulness of the front desk staff regarding a TV issue and information about a nearby grocery store, indicating a service-oriented approach from certain team members. They also noted the "extremely hot" water in the bathroom, suggesting a strong hot water supply. However, this same reviewer expressed significant concerns about cleanliness, stating, "My issue was i know that the bed was not clean pillow cases smelled of perfume. Someone didn't do their job." This points to potential inconsistencies in housekeeping standards, which is a critical aspect for any hotel operating under the "Hotels Near Of Me" category, where cleanliness is a fundamental expectation.
Another customer had a significantly negative experience. They reported that "The fan in my room was so loud that I couldn’t sleep... and the entire place smelled like strong chemicals probably due to the cleaning agents." This suggests issues with noise levels and potentially overpowering cleaning product odors, which can detract significantly from a comfortable stay. Furthermore, this reviewer found the "bathtub was filthy... and unusable." Their request to switch rooms was refused by the staff, leading them to conclude, "I definitely wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone." This feedback highlights serious concerns regarding room comfort, hygiene, and staff responsiveness to guest issues. The reviewer also expressed skepticism about the authenticity of positive reviews, speculating they might be "fake."
Given these varied reviews, an objective introduction must acknowledge both the positive interactions and the significant negative experiences. While some guests have found the staff helpful and amenities like hot water to be satisfactory, others have encountered serious issues with cleanliness, noise, and staff unresponsiveness. For a "Hotels Near Of Me" platform, this duality is important for potential users to consider. The hotel's promotional information, which is not explicitly provided beyond its basic contact details and address, would ideally focus on its accessibility, any consistent positive features, and competitive pricing. However, based on the customer feedback, it would be crucial for the hotel to address the reported issues to ensure a consistently positive guest experience.
Promotional information for Essence Express Elizabeth, without specific marketing materials provided, would likely center on its convenience as a "Hotels Near Of Me" option in Elizabeth, NJ. This would appeal to travelers seeking immediate lodging without extensive pre-planning. Potential promotions could include competitive nightly rates, perhaps special offers for extended stays, or packages that include basic amenities. However, any promotional efforts would need to be carefully balanced with the realities of customer feedback, as word-of-mouth and online reviews significantly influence booking decisions in the "Hotels Near Of Me" category. For instance, highlighting its central location in Elizabeth could be a key selling point. The hotel's direct phone numbers, (908) 353-3030 and +1 908-353-3030, serve as direct contact points for potential guests to inquire about availability and rates, which is a fundamental aspect of any promotional strategy for a local hotel.
In summary, Essence Express Elizabeth, located at 178 Spring St, Elizabeth, NJ, functions as a direct option for those searching for "Hotels Near Of Me." It offers basic hotel services and features typical of its category. While some guests have noted helpful staff and functional amenities, significant concerns regarding cleanliness, noise, and staff responsiveness have also been raised in customer reviews. Potential guests considering this hotel should weigh these aspects carefully, understanding that their experience may vary. The hotel's primary appeal lies in its immediate availability and location within Elizabeth, New Jersey.

Mar 09, 2025 · Andrea MurtyI had an awful experience here. The fan in my room was so loud that I couldn’t sleep (can hear it in my video) and the entire place smelled like strong chemicals probably due to the cleaning agents. When I brought this up to the front desk, they suggested airing it out by opening the windows which didn’t help at all. The bathtub was filthy (see the end of my video and image) and unusable. When I asked to switch rooms, the staff refused. Honestly, I have no idea where the positive reviews came from… my guess is they’re fake. I definitely wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

Feb 15, 2025 · Izm ShantaeThe teller at the front was a rude women whome I was trying to talk to but due to her overwhelming thick accent and rude behavior it was not a good first and last time for me and my wife I would never suggest this place to anyone unless your into being treated poorly as well as be in a place that cost the same amount as something that doesn't have a roach running up a wall
May 18, 2025 · James MateGreat little place 15 min walk to the train. Friendly staff. The homeless, though, tend to harass visitors staying. The hotel itself is amazing, but the area is not safe as we were told by Elizabeth PD that we shouldn't have been in that area with our children.
