We are on vacation with our special needs son who is 8. We decided to take him to sesame place then to Nickelodeon Universe. We booked a room here for the night between. First impressions of walking in, the whole building smells like a Marijuana farm. I have had nicer rooms at $30 motels than this place, and we paid $160 for one night. We have a double queen room. Sleeps 4. And we have 4 people with us. Upon arrival, the only toilet paper in the room was the almost empty roll left by the previous people. 1 wash cloth, 1 hand towel, 2 bath towels. Remember, the room sleeps 4. 1 bar soap, 1 mini shower gel. No mini shampoo or conditioner. Coffee doesn't exist here. Not in the room, not in the vending machines, nowhere in the building can you find coffee. My white socks were black on the bottom from an hour of walking around in the room. So I wet a wad of toilet paper and with one swipe of the floor in front of a bed it came up black. So that tells me the rooms don't ever get mopped. 2 forks, 2 butter knives, 2 small plates. Again, remember a room that sleeps 4, and we have 4 people. When I went to the desk to get more towels, toilet paper, wash clothes. I received them, but with sincere negative attitude from the 2 women at the desk. If I could have left a negative star review. I would have. But the lowest you can give is a 1 star. We won't be back. In my 40 years of life. Hands down the worst hotel experience I have had.

WoodSpring Suites Linden Introduce

For individuals searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" with an emphasis on extended stay options in the Linden, NJ area, WoodSpring Suites Linden is a property that may appear. Located at 1920 E Linden Ave, Linden, NJ 07036, USA, and contactable via phone at (908) 344-5915 or mobile at +1 908-344-5915, this hotel presents itself as a solution for guests needing more than a traditional nightly stay. An objective introduction requires a detailed examination of its reported environment, services, and features, informed by the varied experiences shared by past guests.

Environment and Location:

WoodSpring Suites Linden is situated on E Linden Ave, likely in a commercial or mixed-use area typical of Linden, NJ. The external environment itself is not explicitly detailed in the provided reviews, but its address suggests a location with reasonable access to local roads and possibly some commercial establishments. However, a significant environmental factor immediately noted by one guest upon entering the building was a pervasive smell, described as "like a Marijuana farm." This olfactory experience could significantly impact a guest's initial impression and overall comfort within the common areas of the hotel. The hotel's position in Linden makes it potentially convenient for travelers visiting family in the area, as highlighted by one positive review. For those seeking "Hotels Near Of Me" for leisure or business, the general surroundings would likely reflect a suburban New Jersey setting, potentially offering accessibility to wider regional attractions or business hubs, though the hotel itself does not appear to be marketed as a destination property.

Services and Amenities:

As an extended stay hotel, WoodSpring Suites Linden is expected to offer amenities that cater to longer visits, typically including in-room kitchen facilities. While not explicitly detailed, the mention of "2 forks, 2 butter knives, 2 small plates" by a guest implies the presence of a kitchenette, at least in some rooms, though the quantity of these items was insufficient for a family of four. This is a crucial aspect for guests who prefer to prepare their own meals during longer stays. However, critical amenities such as coffee are notably absent, with one guest reporting that coffee was not available "in the room, not in the vending machines, nowhere in the building." This is a significant drawback for many travelers who rely on this basic convenience, especially for early mornings.

The provision of toiletries and linens also appears to be a point of concern. One highly negative review highlighted a severe shortage: only "1 wash cloth, 1 hand towel, 2 bath towels" for a room intended to sleep four people, alongside "1 bar soap, 1 mini shower gel" and no shampoo or conditioner. This indicates a very minimalistic approach to daily housekeeping provisions, which would necessitate frequent requests from the front desk, potentially impacting guest convenience and satisfaction. Basic necessities like toilet paper were also found to be nearly depleted upon arrival. While the hotel did provide additional items upon request, the initial lack of supplies and the perceived "sincere negative attitude" from staff during the request process created a highly unfavorable impression for one guest.

Check-in experiences, however, seem to vary. One guest reported an "easy check in, no issues with staff," suggesting that the front desk service can be efficient for some. This indicates inconsistency in staff interactions, or perhaps different shifts offering varying levels of service attitude.

Features and Guest Experience:

The defining feature of WoodSpring Suites Linden, as an extended stay property, is its provision of rooms with some form of kitchen facilities, appealing to those who require self-catering options. However, the actual implementation of these features, in terms of quantity of utensils and basic provisions, seems to fall short of expectations for larger groups. The most contentious feature, based on feedback, appears to be the hotel's cleanliness. While one guest praised the place as "very clean," another described a severely compromised state, with white socks turning black from walking on the floor and a simple wipe test revealing significant dirt, indicating that rooms "don't ever get mopped." This suggests a considerable inconsistency in housekeeping standards across different rooms or during different times, which is a major concern for any hotel, let alone one designed for longer stays.

Guest perception of value also widely diverges. One guest felt they had "nicer rooms at $30 motels" compared to the $160 paid, classifying it as "hands down the worst hotel experience." Conversely, another guest had a "very good experience" and would "recommend this place to anyone!" This drastic difference in opinion points to a hotel that may meet the very basic needs of some travelers, particularly those prioritizing proximity to family or specific local points of interest, while profoundly disappointing others with higher expectations of cleanliness, amenities, and service quality commensurate with the price paid. The overall guest experience is significantly shaped by these fundamental aspects: cleanliness, staff attitude, and the adequacy of in-room provisions for the stated capacity of the room.

Promotional Information and Objective Considerations:

For users searching "Hotels Near Of Me" with an extended stay filter, WoodSpring Suites Linden could be promoted for its potential to offer longer-term accommodations with in-room kitchenettes. Its proximity to local family or specific destinations in Linden could also be a selling point. Promotional materials might highlight the convenience of having some cooking facilities and potentially a "very clean" environment, as experienced by some guests. The "easy check in" could also be emphasized for a smooth arrival process.

However, an objective introduction demands transparency regarding the significant criticisms. Any promotional material should implicitly or explicitly manage expectations regarding the level of amenities (e.g., lack of coffee, limited toiletries) and the potential for cleanliness issues, as reported by guests. The strong negative feedback regarding a pervasive smell in the building and the alleged "negative attitude" from some staff members are critical considerations for prospective guests. Given the widely disparate reviews, WoodSpring Suites Linden appears to be a property where expectations should be carefully set, and where the guest experience can be highly variable. For those prioritizing extreme budget-friendliness and simply needing a roof over their head with minimal fuss, it might suffice. For others expecting standard hotel comforts, consistent cleanliness, and a full suite of amenities, it may lead to disappointment. Prospective guests should consider reading multiple recent reviews to get the most current and balanced understanding of what to expect from this extended stay property.

Had an easy check in, no issues with staff who checked me in on 2/10 at 2:30pm. Place was very clean and everything I need was in my room when I came in. Hotel was close to my family who I was visiting for the night. Overall a very good experience and I would recommend this place to anyone!

Smells like marijuana everyday, fire alarm was pulled, also very loud guest and room service there is none. Manager is very unprofessional, disregards your concerns. Took about 5 hours for the the maintenance guy to come and fix my problem. Also be aware to always lock yours door with the door stoper dude to someone trying to come into my room while i was sleeping with my baby.

Walking into the hotel it seemed nice and the front desk staff were nice. As soon as we got to our floor and stepped off the elevator our experience was horrible. The hallway smelled horrible and the floors were noticeably dirty. Our room looked good when we got into it but after walking around a little bit the bottom of our feet were BLACK! I am pregnant but got on my hands and knees with dish soap and scrubbed the floors. There were no hand towels or washcloths, no paper towels, trash bags would not stay on the trash cans, and there was no extra toilet paper. They also had no coffee maker. For an extended stay hotel I excepted better.

I was unable to select less than one star, so I am giving one star. After a long journey, I politely requested an early check-in an hour beforehand and offered to pay extra, but my request was denied based on appearance. I am very disappointed with the management's handling of this situation.
