I had the pleasure of staying at the Parlour for about 2 months in Fall 2020, as my work allowed me to be flexible in location during COVID. It was the absolute perfect place to stay to enjoy New Orleans. Since I didn't have a car, location was a huge factor for my decision where to stay, and the location near Magazine St. allowed me to walk to restaurants, stores, drug stores, cafes, and personal care businesses. The Parlour itself had everything I needed and more for a longer stay- 2 comfy beds, all kitchen essentials, a washer/ dryer, closet space to hang clothes, and lots of areas to work comfortably from home. I particularly loved sitting on the porch to read or have a drink to people-watch and enjoy the great weather. Miranda and Brad were the best hosts, always available to answer any questions about either the house or give great recommendations on places to eat or drink. They are kind and trustworthy and I felt very safe during my entire stay. I am already thinking about when I can visit again this year and wouldn't think of staying anywhere else other than the Parlour!

Parlour Nola is wonderfully situated at 702 General Taylor St, New Orleans, LA 70115, USA. This address places it squarely in the desirable Uptown neighborhood, specifically just off the famous Magazine Street and within easy reach of the historic Garden District. For us locals, this location offers an ideal balance of neighborhood charm and accessibility to all that New Orleans has to offer.

The accessibility is a major highlight, especially for those who prefer to explore on foot. As one reviewer noted, the location near Magazine Street means you can "walk to restaurants, stores, drug stores, cafes, and personal care businesses." Magazine Street itself is known as the "main shopping and restaurant street in New Orleans," boasting an array of independent breakfast, lunch, dinner, and bar spots, as well as boutiques and coffee shops, all within a "2 min walk" from Parlour Nola. This means you can truly live like a local, enjoying daily strolls for coffee or dining out without needing a car.

Furthermore, the famous St. Charles Avenue, home to the iconic streetcar line and a major Mardi Gras parade route, is "probably a 10 min walk away." This provides easy public transportation access to the Central Business District, French Quarter, and other parts of the city. While walking is highly encouraged and enjoyable in this safe neighborhood, driving is also convenient. There is "free street parking right in front of Parlour," a significant advantage in New Orleans where parking can be challenging. For those venturing further, the hotel is a "10 minute or less drive to anywhere in the city," including Freret, the French Quarter/Bourbon Street, Downtown, and Bywater, offering truly comprehensive accessibility for your New Orleans adventures.

Promotions or Special Offers

  • Extended Stay Discounts: Given its suitability for longer visits, Parlour Nola is very likely to offer reduced nightly rates for stays of a week, two weeks, a month, or even longer. This is a common practice for properties designed for comfort during extended periods, as noted by a guest who stayed for two months.

  • Off-Season Rates: Prices might be more flexible during New Orleans' quieter tourism periods, typically outside of major festivals (like Mardi Gras, Jazz Fest) or conventions.

  • Direct Booking Advantages: Booking directly through their preferred platform (likely Airbnb, Vrbo, or their own dedicated website, as implied by the direct host interaction) might offer the best rates or additional personalized perks not available on broader listing sites.

  • Referral Programs: While not explicitly stated, some independent properties offer discounts for repeat guests or those referred by previous satisfied customers.

To discover any current promotions, the best approach is to contact Miranda and Brad directly using the provided contact information or to search for "Parlour Nola" on popular vacation rental platforms. Parlous NOLA will give you the quintessential New Orleans experience. The place is decorated like a local boutique hotel, and you'll feel like you're truly living like a local. The locations is incredible, as you're right off Magazine St (2 min walk). Magazine Street is the main shopping and restaurant street in New Orleans, and is very safe. Think of the Newbury St (Boston), 5th Ave (NYC), Rodeo Dr (LA), Magnificent Mile (Chicago). Every morning I'd take a 5 minute walk to one of the many amazing coffee shops nearby. We ate out often, as there are amazing independent breakfast, lunch, dinner and bar spots within walking distance. Famous St. Charles street is probably a 10 min walk away, and as it was during Mardi Gras - we often walked the neighborhoods to check out the House Floats. We walk a lot, being from the east coast, but driving is just as easy from this location. I always felt very safe as well wherever I went within the Garden District / Magazine etc. 10 minute or less drive to anywhere in the city: Freret (which we walked to), French Quarter/Bourbon St, Downtown, Bywater...pretty much anywhere. Driving is very easy as well, as there is free street parking right in front of Parlour. The beds are Casper, and probably one of the most comfortable beds I've slept on in all my travels - which I feel is important to a great start/end to the day, plus I love to sleep. The apartment is a shotgun apartment - which means it goes room, to room to room in one straight shot. It was cool, because I've never seen that before, and it's traditional NOLA housing style. It is also very clean, which to me is of utmost importance, especially during COVID. The place was spotless when we entered, and even had several candles lit and light music upon us entering, which was a nice touch! WiFi is solid, as 2 of us were on working zoom calls all day. Miranda the Host was amazing and always quick to respond with any questions we had, or to give us local tips (where to dine, neighborhoods to check out, NOLA ideas etc). If you're looking for a weekend getaway or a short term stay (2 of us were there for 2 weeks), Parlour is a no brainer. So many advantages over a hotel. From the moment we walked in I knew this would be one of my favorite stops on our road trip. The hosts have fantastic taste and clearly went through lengths to give the surprisingly large space a homey but distinctly modern vibe — (drink cart, fun art, unique furniture, etc.) The aesthetic touches were backed up with substance, like an extremely comfy king bed and super fast wifi (disclaimer: it does get spotty in the back of the house). Location-wise, it's right off Magazine, with tons to walk to. When we did drive, it was never for more than 15min. The owners live right next door and were extremely nice and very responsive, but also gave us plenty of privacy and never intruded.
