All the mixed reviews kind of worries us a bit. But we have a great experience here. The “noise” from the street was not bad at all. We could sleep very well. The heating and hot water works well. The receptionists are friendly. There are good supplies in the lobby. Location is great. Many subway lines literally next door.
Looking for a budget-conscious place to stay in New York City? The Soho Garden Hotel, located at 276 Canal St in the Soho area, might be a suitable option for local users seeking affordable accommodation within the 'Hotels Near Of Me' category.
Guest reviews present a mixed perspective on the Soho Garden Hotel. Some visitors reported a great experience, noting that despite initial worries about noise, they were able to sleep well. They also mentioned that the heating and hot water worked effectively, the receptionists were friendly, and there were good supplies in the lobby. The hotel's location is highlighted as excellent, with many subway lines conveniently located next door.
Other guests described the hotel as a semi-affordable place that served its purpose as a base for sleeping. While not considered a "nice" hotel, it was noted as clean and having the essentials. The rooms are described as small, and the street is acknowledged as very noisy, with the hotel providing earplugs for guests to use at night. Comfort levels of the bed, towels, and pillows were not rated highly by some. Additionally, guests mentioned the lack of individual control over the central air conditioning, leading to inconsistent room temperatures.
The hotel's central location right next to the subway is consistently mentioned as a significant advantage. However, the immediate surroundings are described by one guest as a "shady street" with vendors and homeless individuals present. The general sentiment from some reviews suggests that the hotel offers value for its price, particularly for travelers primarily seeking a clean and conveniently located place to sleep while exploring the city.

Feb 11, 2025 · Kim Tran (Kim Hàng Bông)We were looking for a semi-affordable place to simply sleep and have as a home base and it served that purpose. By no means a nice hotel. It was clean and had what we needed. The room is small and the street is very noisy-you'll need to wear provided ear plugs all night. The bed, towels and pillows are not super comfortable. You cannot control the central air in your room so the temperature is hit or miss. But it is a fairly central location right next to the subway. Kind of a shady street, lots of vendors, homeless, etc. You're going to get what you're paying for. If you just want a place to plop at night, its a decent option.
Dec 12, 2024 · Anna CraigIn New York City, I hoped to find, A hotel stay that would ease my mind. But dirty floors and grime in sight, Made me regret my choice that night. No staff around, the lobby bare, No one to answer, no one to care. I called ten times, but all in vain, Left waiting, frustrated, and full of disdain. Thin walls exposed each late-night fling, With noises that made my ears sting. The street below a loud parade, Of slamming doors and sounds that stayed. The fire alarm with its endless beep, Kept me awake, robbed me of sleep. Vagrants outside selling bags so fake! Half used CVS body wash in the shower, for goodness’ sake! The tap water? A foul, foul taste, Not one moment here was worth the waste. I’d never stay again, that’s clear, This hotel is my worst nightmare!
Oct 18, 2024 · RV VRPlease take into consideration all of the NEGATIVE 1-star ratings of this hotel. It will save you a lot of trouble. These people will scam you and take your money. My friend had her card charged for a night she didn’t stay and they will not process a refund. How is this ethical? Don’t trust these people with your card information. Do not trust these people to deliver any customer service. Save yourself the headache and book somewhere else.
Jan 01, 2025 · Martel HortonTerrible staff! Mold throughout the rooms, it was clear the sheets and towels were used and the dismissive staff made no accommodation. Very unsafe conditions. Book anywhere else but here!
