I never like writing a poor review. Unfortunately this place has earned it multiple times over. This place has to make significant improvements to quality and attention to detail, and most importantly safety. They have three elevators. The buttons for the elevators need to pressed over and over again before they work. One of them was out of service on the second day, I was at the hotel. I nearly got trapped in a different elevator on my last morning there. The doors would not open after I got in. Fortunately for me the door was broken, exposing the inside, mechanical parts. I found a way to open the door, getting grease on my hands. At least i got out safely, stopped others from getting in and reported it to the front desk. When I went to take a shower, I found no body soap instead, two shampoos. I messaged the Hotel front desk and they said they take care of it. Hours later when I returned, they did not. I need to place a second request and wait in my room for them to take action. When the person arrived, they walked into the clean shower with dirty shoes to replace it. The restaurant has B rating posted by the bar. Not what you expect at Sheraton. One giant warning flag on the elevators is the sign that says see the manager’s office for the document/certification that’s supposed to be there. I can understand why they didn’t have transparency because of their neglect in maintenance. The M club lounge is basic but consistent. No complaints there. I would probably even say better things if I was here and the weather was nice and could be on the rooftop seating that they have. Sorry Marriott brand, this hotel is does not represent you well.

Randomly chose this location for a weekend stay. Location is in the middle of a very tourist-focused area, with every tchotchke shop you could ever want (outside of Times Sq.) on Canal St. Given the volume of traffic, you will wait to get any type of vehicle, so you may need to walk places you want to go. Walking will take a while as you try to dodge all the vendors on the Canal sidewalks on your way to where you want to go. Hotel is constantly busy, with the lobby pathing being kinda janky. Room I had was reasonably spacious, pretty comfortable, and fairly quiet outside of street noise. You will wind up waiting for an elevator (there's 3 on the property), so add 5-10 mins to trying to leave the hotel. If you have the clout to be allowed to the Club Lounge on 21 you'll find that's pretty comfortable and constantly maintained, with a very large balcony overlooking the city. Was not thrill that this hotel pre-charges for your stay (which is not disclosed when you book via Marriott) ahead of the cancellation cutoff. Overall, if you need a hotel because you prefer/need to be in this area of NYC, this is a fairly reasonable choice.

Stayed here for one night when in town for a friend's birthday party. Extremely friendly and accommodating staff at check-in. Clean, spacious and comfortable rooms which were larger than expected. Great value for being right in the heart of Tribeca. I would highly recommend this property, and look forward to staying again the next time I am in NYC.

Disappointing Stay – Not Family Friendly We recently stayed at this hotel with our three children (ages 11, 15, and 17) and were extremely disappointed with the experience. This is not a family-friendly hotel. The reception area is also the bar, breakfast area, and lobby—the only common space outside of your room. It was constantly busy, with limited seating and loud music in the evenings, making it impossible to relax. There was no quiet space to take a phone call apart from our bedroom. Our initial booking for a quadruple room was far too small to accommodate four people and our luggage, forcing us to upgrade. Breakfast, which was included in our stay, was extremely limited, with only five set choices. The staff was not flexible in accommodating any changes to suit children, and there was no dedicated children’s menu. Strangely, the bar menu in the evening had a much better selection and was more appealing. The overall hotel needs a revamp. The lifts felt very commercial, and one was out of service during our stay, leading to long waits just to get to our room. The carpets throughout the hotel were worn and in need of replacement, adding to the tired feel of the property. The hotel's location on Canal Street was also a major concern. This area is filled with stalls selling fake goods, and we witnessed open drug dealing. Shockingly, my 15-year-old was offered weed, and my 11-year-old saw jars of marijuana openly displayed on the street. This is not an appropriate environment for children, and we would not recommend this hotel for families.

I would definitely recommend. I encountered a small issue at check in and the assistant GM Cesar immediately reached out to me and made my stay even better. When I tell you he truly cares about his guests, it’s an understatement. He went above and beyond to help me. Great leadership at the hotel!
