SpringHill Suites New York LaGuardia Airport

Today noticed this hotel canceled our booking without any explanation or calling. Outrageous experience and first time from Marriott hotel chain experience and we are so shock is the understatement. We booked the hotel more than half year ago to be a key part of next month US open tennis travel experience. I am putting this hotel service level at 1 (rather 0 if this is an option). As the published phone number not working either no matter what time we called today. Escalated to Marriott customer service and cross finger to see whether they will fix the issue.

Had a delay with our flight from Detroit, so we missed our flight home. There wasn't very many hotels with vacancies. We were so glad we found this hotel. They have free shuttle from and to the airport. So that saves money, no need for an Uber. The front desk clerk was very friendly. The lobby could use some updating, the room was really nice, clean and comfortable. During the day the street noise was loud, but at night when you have the air conditioner on, you don’t hear the noise. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The water closet is separate from the shower, which is very convenient, for 2 people trying to get dressed. There also was a living area divided by a desk with sliding glass for privacy. The breakfast, which is free, wasn't all that great. It was cold (turkey and pork sausage, eggs, fried potatoes). The waffle mix was really thin. The oatmeal was hot. The breakfast attendant was very friendly. Both shuttle drivers (from the airport and back to the airport) were friendly.

Our flight out of Laguardia was canceled, so we booked a room for the night. We were at the rental car area, as we had tried to get a rental car to drive home without any luck. I called the hotel to see if there was a shuttle, which there was. They came and picked us up at the rental car place and took us to the hotel. It was late and we got one of the last rooms, since many flights were canceled that evening. The lobby was large and the gentleman behind the counter was friendly and courteous. He gave us an extra large room, which was great. It had two bedrooms, a kitchen area and sitting area; way too much for just my husband and I, but would definitely be great for a family with children. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. We told them that we would need a shuttle back to the airport the following morning and it was ready at 5:30 AM sharp to take us. We were only there for the one night and we arrived late and left early, but I had no issues with this hotel.

The rooms are HUGE but they smell musty and like they've been spayed with a deodorizer. Carpet is a bit worn too. Shuttle does not run after midnight so if you arrive late don't expect one. Front desk was great though. Market is well stocked and a free breakfast.

Room are comfortable and clean, hotel overall is has a contemporary look and feel. Service is great, anything you need the staff will help you out, courteous and professional people. Breakfast is great, wide assortment ofnfood, loved the waffles. You see lots of business people and families. Rates are very reasonable. Transportation to the airport and Subway stations is readily available, only issue was getting picked up late night from the airport, they did take a while one of the days we needed a shuttle, other than that we always go back.
