Aloft New York LaGuardia Airport

This is a pretty standard airport hotel and we Would definitely stay again. But there was plenty to nit pick about (keep in mind I just said I would stay again). Airport location where there isn’t a way to get places without a car so we did Door Dash. They do have a bar and happy hour and a basic restaurant but we didn’t try these. The room didn’t have enough light. It was dim with everything on. The sliding glass door on the closet was stuck and then came off its rails and almost fell. Thick glass and it would have been totally dangerous but I’m fairly strong and was able to catch and hold it and with help get it hung back on the rail system. A few stray hairs that were not ours in the shower but lovely water pressure. Also they have three washers and three dryers that were spotless clean and worked super well. (Just back from a few weeks travel from overseas and waiting for tomorrow AM flight so it was nice to freshen up the wardrobe). They even sold soap ($4 a load). Cabinet with snacks and drinks to by in the lobby or maybe free if high up in the Bonvoy system. The back door on the second level was a little sketchy and only opened part way. The shuttle to the airport was fast nice efficient and on time. Beds were comfy. So mostly positives and only a few nit picks.

I booked this hotel for my elderly parents whose flight got cancelled. The girl at the front desk and shuttle driver were amazing and helped my parents get to the hotel in a quick manner. While there they helped them with new flight details and overall supported them. I’m forever grateful that they were there to help when I couldn’t be! Thanks to the staff for their excellent customer service.

Excellent hotel, excellent and happy staff, had a great meal (seafood pasta and my wife loved her chicken stew). Stellar service starting with Marvin, the shuttle driver, the front desk staff and onto Juan who waited on us for dinner. We have traveled an enormous amount over the years and don't have lofty expectations but we were wow'd by everyone at this Aloft. And the hotel was decorated to the hilt with Christmas cheer. Top notch, 5 stars. We look forward to staying again!

It is rare I would take the time to leave an airport hotel review as my expectations were very low. After a solid week of grinding in NYC for business, I stayed here the night before an early flight. The five stars is for the best shower I had in an entire week. Dazzling water pressure. Full glass door so you don't freeze to death. Premium shampoos/conditioner. I felt like a new person. The room was quiet and clean. The food downstairs was incredibly decent and the staff was very easy going and helpful. I will definitely stay here again. Well done!!
