Our king executive suite exceeded our expectations. It was so beautiful. Our view of the river and the Boston skyline was spectacular. We had a maintenance issue that was fixed immediately by a very personable, knowledgeable gentleman. The our room and all public spaces were immaculate. The location was perfect as we were going to the Harry Potter exhibit almost across the street. We had breakfast on the property and it did not disappoint. It was however a bit pricey. The pool looked very nice but was far too crowded. The $47 a day parking fee is a bit steep. What seemed like a good value added up quickly for a quick weekend trip. I absolutely loved this hotel but might have to look for a hotel without so many amenities not included.

The Royal Sonesta Boston is a fabulous hotel. The lobby is lovely, and has a wonderful sense of arrival. The staff is quite lovely, Dorrian who checked me in was efficient, friendly, and warm. Our Executive King suite was huge with a pull out bed. The room was very comfortable for a family of 4. The views of Charles river from our suite were sweeping and spectacular. The location of the hotel is perfectly nestled in Cambridge, a thriving destination with so much to do. Boston is on the other side of the river, very convenient to access vi the T (subway ) or by Uber. Overall, I highly recommend the Royal Sonesta Boston hotel.

My experience at this hotel was extremely disappointing. The air conditioning in our room wasn’t working, and despite repeatedly asking the front desk for help, we were falsely assured that it had been fixed. Not only was the issue never resolved, but the staff continued to mislead us and refused to move us to another room. The room itself was very small, with a cramped bathroom and doors that didn’t close properly. Overall, it was an uncomfortable and frustrating stay. I would not recommend this hotel.

Room Given Away, Staff Threatened to Call Police at Midnight I had a very upsetting experience at this hotel during my stay from April 4–6, 2025. I booked a King River View room weeks in advance and received all the proper confirmations. However, when I arrived around 11 PM after a long trip, I was told by the front desk staff (Richard) that my reserved room had been given away. I was offered a downgraded room or told to find another hotel—at nearly midnight, in a city I was unfamiliar with. Richard was rude, unapologetic, and at one point even threatened to call the police if I didn’t decide quickly. He ignored me for long stretches while serving other guests, and dismissed my concerns entirely. I was eventually forced to take the room because I had a conference the next morning. The next day, a manager named Daniel offered a partial refund, which I appreciated, but still—no apology from Richard. The whole situation was handled poorly and left me feeling disrespected and unsafe. I don’t usually write reviews, but this experience was unacceptable. I hope no other guest has to go through what I did.

The worst experience ever at any hotel I’ve ever stayed at my entire life. Let’s start by how my king suit was given away and at no extra cost was put in a basic room. Or how about the fact you have to wait in the lobby (which it seems that’s where this hotel put most its money) for a good 10-15 minutes before even attempting to get to Your floor. And even then you might have to wait again because there is a bunch of people wanting to use the one working elevator in the building. Or even the fact the staff EVEN AFTER LETTING THEM IN MY ROOM said I was smoking in my room. No smoke I have it on recording them admitting there was no smoke but nope still harassed me and my fiancé multiple times. If that doesn’t do it for you then the house maids just might. Came back from doing a little shopping to find a house maid cleaning our room which typically wouldn’t be an issue but the do not disturb sign on the door clearly wasn’t a deterrent and if that wasn’t invading our privacy enough she tried stealing my sealed bag of cannabis and would have if we didn’t show back up to catch her. She left immediately after saying “I come back later” knowing she was just caught. Then that’s when all the harassment started and security coming to my room to investigate “smoking in the room”. First it was the smoke detector has a sensor in it that detects smoke. And alerted us to your room. Ok that’s weird I said but definitely don’t do that in hotel rooms. Invited them in to see for themselves they did and left no complaint. Only for 2 hours later for them to come back now saying a customer complained. Invited them in again I mean if you are smoking and the door is wide open you could tell. They didn’t want to come in but I did get them to admit there was no smoke and didn’t smell like smoke. After that we felt so unwelcome there we decided to leave a day early. We asked for them to comp us the day we won’t be spending there but instead of that they charged us for smoking in the room. Ruined our Easter weekend and treated us as if we were nobody. Very bad experience to the lying harassment stealing and paying for parking at their hotel was just the icing on top. Would never recommend this place to anyone. Management is just as bad as security maybe worse the place seems like it needs money bad. No help from HR department either. Next I will be contacting better business bureau to report this 1star establishment!
