You get what you pay for with this hotel. The rooms are basic—ours didn’t have a TV or fridge. We didn’t expect it, but I’m mentioning it for anyone curious. I was hesitant to book this place because of the mixed reviews, but it turned out better than expected. We got a room with a private bathroom, and both the room and bathroom were clean. They provided essentials like a hairdryer, towels, shampoo, and conditioner. The room had windows, but there wasn’t much of a view. A downside is that you can hear noise from other rooms if your neighbors are loud. This place is perfect if you have a busy day planned and just need a place to sleep. The entrance has a large staircase, so if you have heavy luggage, you’ll need to carry it up. We arrived early, before check-in time, and the staff was kind enough to let us leave our luggage in a corner while we explored the area. The location is excellent—close to Chinatown, Little Italy, and the Brooklyn Bridge. For the price, it’s a good budget option with no major complaints.

Feb 25, 2025 · Sonalee ChandraratneI was dying to review this place because please take what I say so honestly. The room itself is clean. I paid £260ish for a 2 night stay, no window. If you plan to explore and are content with full days, little time in room this is perfect. It’s hot so winter kept me warm. However if you’re looking here thinking yeah, 6 days is the plan, just don’t do it. No one can be so active in the morning till night everyday in 6 days. This hotel is ONLY good for short stays and if you’re spending time exploring. It’s cheap and clean. But you pay for the bare minimum. I asked for hot water and they said no as I needed my own cup and I didn’t have one. But am I rating this place a 2 because of it ? No! Understand what YOU want from a hotel in NYC and let that govern your choice . If space, comfort and windows is what you need, this is not the place for you. ( actually also the beds were super comfy, slept like a log, but I also was a little tipsy ). Location couldn’t be better. That’s why I picked this. Close to food, Times Square, a bunch of other tourist things. I saw a lot because of the location
Dec 12, 2024 · Nicol LangeIt’s what you get for the price. Staff was helpful, rooms are small, the rooms bathroom was bigger than the room. But the mattresses, holy. I’ve slept on 2x4s softer than that. These mattresses prompted me to make the review. I slept on the floor cause it was more comfortable. Everything else was okay, but if you’re staying to, idk SLEEP, it’ll be a little rough. There is a furniture store across the street, maybe they can get better mattresses
Sep 02, 2024 · trevor boggessWe stayed here overnight, having selected this hotel because it was the cheapest option in Manhattan. The hotel is conveniently located near the subway station and around plenty of Chinatown’s restaurants. We arrived late and checked out early, and the location felt safe on both occasions. The room we had was with a private bathroom. We read that not all rooms have windows, so if you want one choose a room with a bathroom. The room was very small and very basic, without microwave, fridge not working tv. The WiFi was fast enough. The room was rather clean, but the bathroom needs renovation, it is really worn down. The lady at the reception struggled to understand English, but was polite. What we did not like was that the hotel only stores your luggage until 5pm on the day you check out. We had to shorten our sightseeing of New York due to this policy and had to arrive at the airport many hours before the flight as a result. I wish the hotel extended the luggage storage to, say, 8pm. Would make a difference to budget travelers.
Sep 24, 2024 · Aga CI stayed at this hotel and found the staff to be friendly and accommodating. They graciously allowed for an early check-in and remained attentive and alert to all movements within the hotel. While the room itself was basic and reflected its budget-friendly nature, it provided a comfortable place for a good night's sleep. Surprisingly, the rooms effectively blocked out a significant amount of city noise on weekdays, making for a peaceful environment. However, the weekends were a bit louder. There is no AC control in the room, but temperatures ranged from 68°-74°. Would recommend a small travel fan for added comfort In terms of amenities, the shared bathrooms were well-maintained and conveniently accessible without the need for waits. Although they were cleaned in the mornings and in the afternoons, I found it prudent to exercise caution and wear shower shoes, as one would with any communal facility. Another highlight of the hotel's location was its proximity to the subway and a variety of great dining options, with Canal Street's delightful array of cheap street vendors just a stone's throw away. Overall, considering the hotel's affordability, convenience, and advantageous location, I would definitely stay here again. It offers a budget-friendly choice for travelers looking for a convenient base to explore the city, with the added bonus of friendly staff and nearby amenities.
